this is "the ingraham angle." as always thank you for joining us. fani lines blurred. that is the focus of tonight's "angle." today over several hours in atlanta courtroom, we saw why allowing county d.a. to bring charges against former u.s. president is absurd and destructive. fani willis as they leftist who thought this case would catapult her to political fame, maybe even the senate or governor's mansion because it would be fani, the trump slayer. she was so full of herself that she thought no one would notice when she hired her married boyfriend as lead trump investigator. now, just to refresh everyone on the timeline here come on new year's day 2021, miss willis started as fulton county d.a. in the next month or two days later, february 10th, she opens the criminal investigation into the trump election interference claim. then months later, november 1st, she hires her friend, nathan

wade is a very special prosecutor. then, the next day, he files for divorce from his wife. now of course, willis and wade didn't expect his divorce proceeding would become an issue in the trump case. but at today's hearing, judge scott mcafee was considering whether the affair between the two created a conflict of interest that should not them both off of the case. today nathan wade took the stand on the question of who paid for their pleasure trips? >> did you take a trip with miss willis in 20232 belize? >> i did. >> did you take a trip to california with her as well in 2023? >> i did. did you pay for those trips on that credit card? >> i use the credit card to put the travel -- understand. >> she paid you back half. >> let me say this, let's take the belize trip, for example, and start there. that was a birthday gift to me.
1:03 am
so i paid nothing for that trip, zero. >> okay, so the charges that are on your card, she gave you cash for? >> she did. >> laura: cash? now, we are supposed to believe that fani willis was carrying around this large amounts of cash. of course, cash is not traceable. now, when the d.a. unexpectedly appeared on the stand today, she did address this or tried to. >> he initially paid for it. did you pay him back? >> for the cruise and the room, yes. >> you gave him cash before you went on the trip? >> mike >> laura: later in the afternoon steve seto revisited the question. >> i'm asking whether the payments would be reflected on credit card bills. >> there was $500 and i think on a debit card. my recollection is i took $400
1:04 am
in cash. >> laura: $400 or $4,000? and she answered $4,000. who carries around that kind of cash? fani does. again, very convenient because you need a paper trail, right, to show this willis paid nathan wade and was not getting financial benefit from the lord your she was hiring to investigate trump. >> did you keep track of the cash that you paid him at all? did you keep track, a ledger, did you keep track of it? >> i have mentioned i gave him cash three or four times. there is no ledger. this is friends handing money off to each other. >> laura: of course, just friends handing money off to each other. this is ridiculous! just like the idea miss willis did know her ethical obligations as the county d.a. >> did you disclose your

relationship to anybody at fulton county? >> no, i don't think so. >> are you aware polk county requires you to disclosure relationship? >> i'm not aware. >> laura: to me, that was stunning. again i'm a she's going after trump for election interference and she doesn't know her own ethical obligations? that was on top of many other stunning moments where both witnesses appeared evasive and at times very argumentative, even belligerent, with glaring memory lapses about events most people wouldn't even forget. >> how many times mr. wade visited you at the condo between the time you moved in and prior to november 1, 2020? >> i don't think often, but i don't want to speculate. >> can we say more than five, more than ten? >> let's say more than ten, but
1:06 am
i'm not even sure that is accurate. >> what about any other prosecutor involved in the prosecution of this case? >> i don't think any of them have. >> laura: yeah, because a personal residence is not a typical venue for official meetings between government lawyers. >> i'm asking you whether or not prior to november 1, 2021, there was a romantic relationship with mr. wade? it is very simple. it is either a "yes" or "no." >> i don't consider my relationship with him before that to be romantic. >> you don't see the need to tell anybody on the prosecution team when you had established a romantic relationship with mr mr. wade that the lead prosecutor, that is the people -- the man that was basically giving orders to others was dating or having a romantic relationship with you? >> from at least 2020, me and

1:08 am
this news conference? >> yes. >> and do you understand it that the relationship began in 2019 and continued until the last time he spoke with her? >> yes. >> laura: what motive would her friend have to lie about miss willis' relationship with the prosecutor? the prosecutor come of course that she hired to go after trump? it is unclear what motive she would have. what is clear is when fani gets in trouble, fani plays the victim. she stayed away for the most part from the race card today, except for a few moments like this. >> did you have contacts with mr. wade in 2020? >> very limited contact because mr. wade had a form of cancer and that makes your allegation somewhat ridiculous. i am not going to emasculate a bionic man. did you understand that? >> laura: what?
1:09 am
her first instinct is to deflect and then engender some racial empathy. there was lots of "poor me" moments. >> let's be clear because you lied in you laid right here, you light right here, no, no, no, this is the truth. it is a light, it is a light! one of the worst birthdays i ever had to. >> i asked you who knew. >> i am very private. it is like a woman doesn't have a right to keep her private life private. i don't need anybody to fit my bills. the only man who put my bills completely is my daddy. >> laura: look for him as wild as today's testimony was and i was riveted by it long before we knew who nathan wade was, it was obvious the election interference case brought by this fulton county d.a. was tainted. by charging trump and 17

>> well, as president trump long said, this case should be dismissed, not just because of the allegations of misconduct if proven true the court of law proves true and certainly appears to be, it should be dismissed on the merits of that but also on the basis of the law. this case has no legal grounding. our legal team has penn biden center's the very beginning both absolutely agree the president did nothing wrong and he abided by the constitution and if we can't question elections d we don't have a country at all. so, we agree wholeheartedly as we have since the very beginning this case should be dismissed no matter who is prosecuting it. but fani willis is not qualified to be doing that. >> laura: karoline, great to see you tonight. thank you so much. so did today's drama the rail that entire case as i just raised with karoline against the president? our legal panel on that and alvin bragg's schedule in
