warriors and tribes decide if high schools can keep their mascots. in minnesota, a middle school has to change its name from the word bison. i didn't know animals were exclusively racist or not racist. a statement from dakota middle school, this is what they said. we work with american indian parent advisory committee and native families and students to select the bison and work with native artists to create a depiction we call our mascot. we will work with another native artist and share the new mascot with dakota middle school community before the start of the next school year. now bisons are racist? >> they have to get approval from 11 different native american tribes to get this exemption. this was passed in the last legislation in the state.

this is a red herring by any measure. they use ethnic groups to divide the nation, divide each other, weapon eyes us. i don't believe all native americans care about these issues. much like black americans, what's going on in the native american community, they have the highest percentage of fatherless homes in our country any given year in our state, 80% to 90% of nativeborn children will be born in fatherless homes to unwed mothers. the department of health and statistics just like black americans, 90% in minneapolis will be born into fatherless homes, they have the lowest life expectancy, native americans, than any other ethnic group. and so this issue of how the bison is a red herring, pitting
