potential problem for biden. that asked the voters if the election were today, who do you vote for, trump by five points. and the second aspect, asked registered hispanic voters the same question, that shows trump winning hispanics 46-40%. that's something to keep an eye on in the months ahead. and take a look at this graphic here, we talk about the delegate count as of this morning, it just changed. you need just over 1200 to secure the nomination, trump 140 delegates and nikki haley, 24 delegates. if you take a look at them campaigning. both are going to be here in north carolina today. nikki haley in raleigh and donald trump over in greensboro. nikki haley has been swatting down a third party ticket, no labels ticket. she doesn't want to have a democrat at her vp. she's also saying she plans to stay in this race as long as

she feels she's competitive and a swath of voters out here who don't want either trump or joe biden. as for trump he's in north carolina fresh off his visit to the southern border and telling supporters if they come out for him on tuesday, feels that super tuesday could be a knockout blow to finally get nikki haley out and he can focus solely on joe biden. and the same new york times see answera poll showing nikki haley crushing joe biden by 10 points and her winning hispanic vote. and she's got two key endorsements from maine senator susan collins and alaska senator lisa murkowski. >> bill melugin in battle ground north carolina. >> michigan holding a nomination of delegates today after former president trump

won 12 in the state's primary election earlier this week. brady trimble is live from grand rapids, michigan, with the latest update as this unfolds. grady, do you >> we're seeing the updates in real-time, molly. you mentioned that voters went to the polls in michigan earlier this week. former president trump won 12 delegates. they were divvied up proportionally, so that nikki haley got four delegates from michigan. here at this convention today it sounds like the delegates from the michigan g.o.p., as they're voting in real-time, are overwhelmingly awarding delegates to former president trump as they divvy up the lion's share of the delegates that will help former president trump potentially reach the nomination. i want to show you a live look inside one of the meeting rooms as i kind of explain how this process works because this split primary process is a little bit unusual. right now, as we speak. representatives from each of michigan's 13 congressional

districts are holding individual meetings where they will pick their preferred candidate. each of the 13 districts will award three delegates for a total of 39. in fact, eight of those districts have already awarded 24, all of them going to former president trump. i spoke with michigan g.o.p. chair pete hoekstra today as he predicted a big win for trump today, but also on super tuesday, he says that's going to give him major momentum over haley in the next couple of days. >> i think she's got a real challenge now going into multiple states on a single day and creating an identity and a campaign. now, i think the format, the structure and the timing all favor someone with a high degree of visibility and identity, which is former president trump. >> okay, so the delegates are ticking in in real-time here. and i know bill just showed a graphic with 140 for former president trump, but because of

in raleigh, north carolina later this hour. it doesn't sound like she's going anywhere, does it, john? >> no, it doesn't. i have no idea who is giving her money, as a democrat i'm happy she's staying in the race and keeping 40% of republican voters saying they'll not vote for donald trump. i don't think that's a good sign for him in the general. i do think, you know, she's staying in to prove a point. she has a message she wants to get out there and i think, you know, she's hoping she can be an alternative for donald trump if he gets convicted of a crime and she's the only one with a delegate. right now she'd be the only candidate in the race other than trump who has any delegates. >> ryan, we're looking ahead to super tuesday. if you're on team haley, what's the goal? >> the goal can only be a convention play at this point. you know, after today in michigan and idaho and missouri and super tuesday coming up, i think the march is on for president trump to secure the nomination and that window is closing very quickly for nikki haley. >> to former president trump's influence on the republican

party. you had chairman mark green saying he's not going to run for reelection and a change of heart after the former president encouraging him. what do you make of the former president's i am fl influence. >> he controls the republican party, gets to dictate what the vote is on the floor, tells people how to vote ap put his daughter-in-law at the head of the rnc, he's bragging he's the one that overturned abortion rights with the dobson, and ivf after tammy duckworth to protect it throughout the country. and donald trump and others opposed that and he has full control of the party. >> congressman green says he'll stick around after being encouraged to do so and pushing steve danes to be the next republican leader in the senate. let's play the sound bite from the former president and i'll get you to react to it. >> people were surprised by it,

but it's going to be-- it's all going to work out and we're going to end up with a great leader. >> what about the former president's influence at this stage. >> former president trump, he's earned the right to dictate what happens inside of republican politics. i will tell you having worked in the senate for nearly 15 years and having a firsthand look with members like roger wicker and john barrasso, the senate is high risk retail politics at its finest and it's going to, now, while a relationship with president trump is going to be really important, as equally important, it's going to be legislative experience, you know, conservative bona fides, and a deep knowledge of senate procedure. >> you're both former senate guys. i want you to briefly talk about the mcconnell legacy in the republican party and leading the senate. >> mcconnell is probably one of the most influence figures in the last 40 years of politics. his hands in everything from campaign finances to judges, to

taxes. he controlled the senate and worked it magically. i disagreed with almost everything he did, but he was a masterful tactician in the senate. i know he probably doesn't like it known, but he always had an open door policy, even for democrats. a lot of my former bosses walked in and would regularly meet with him. he'll go down as a historic figure. >> ryan? >> yeah, beyond the legacy of reshaping the federal judiciary, one of his outstanding accomplishments, i think, for conservatives was to protect the legislative filibuster from being obliterated by senate democrats a few years ago and that has really helped us out in terms of protecting against the biden administration. >> ryan taylor, jonathan kott. gentlemen, thank you very much. >> president biden and former president trump making separate trips to the border thursday to address the migrant crisis, blaming each other for the massive surge.

nursing student was murdered on uga's campus, people who live around athens are still extremely upset and on edge. >> she did everything right. it really is just a tragic situation. i hope that we make some effective changes. >> hundreds of family and friends came to woodstock city church to honor riley at the private service. riley's obituary says her smile was infectious and she spread joy everywhere she went. a few days ago, riley's mother shared a memory from her former teacher. it was a writing project riley did in first grade about what she wanted to do in the future. riley wrote, when i grow up, i want to be a nurse. the corps know in athens says that riley died from blunt force trauma to the head. the suspect, owe hey -- jose ibarra say that he dragged

her and it was a crime of opportunity. >> usually when you get to level of passion and violence, often dealing with a situation where the two are known to each other, a deep grudge, a domestic or something like that. this seems to be coming from a place of extraordinary violence and yet, it doesn't seem to have been spurred by anything that the victim did. which is very troubling. >> and riley's death is bringing up a lot of questions and frustrations about how the city of athens and the country handle illegal immigration. ice says ibarra came to the u.s. illegally in 2022. a few days ago, protesters repeatedly interrupted the athens mayor during a news conference. the mayor made it clear that athens is not a sanctuary city, protesters screamed liar and justice for laken and calls for him to resign. >> president trump said he spoke with laken riley's

devastated parents. the accused killer's brother will be in federal court on monday on fraud charges. he was arrested during riley's death investigation for having a fake green card. back to you. >> madison scarpino in athens, molly. >> for more on the crisis at the border, former n.y.p.d. inspector, and a former dhs deputy chief of staff under president trump joining me now. thank you for giving us a little bit of time on this saturday afternoon. we appreciate it. laura, i want to start with youment when we look at laken riley's death, preventible in the aspect when we look at policies across the country and so many sanctuary jurisdictions, whether it's cities or counties that have policies that don't allow the local authorities to work with federal components, to work with ice, and to, in this case, ibarra appears to be falling into that group. this is someone that had been

in contact with law enforcement multiple times and yet remained in the country. i want to get your thoughts on these policies, the fact that there are in so many jurisdictions, cities, counties, across the country and we've seen in particular, a result here that's been tragic. >> yes, unfortunately, this is a textbook case what happens with sanctuary policies and it's entirely preventible. state and local law enforcement should absolutely be working with ice when they request detainers that criminal aliens be held in detention until ice can come pick them up and remove them. if ice is making those requests, state and local authorities should take those very seriously and cooperate with them. >> paul, you just wrote a piece for-- on fox news.com, people can read it, talking about this case. what happened with laken riley and what this -- and a lot of the questions that have been raised. so i really want to get your take on this as well, your thoughts. >> so to try to go beyond the obvious, i'm a little suspicious of the fact that ice

was so willing to immediately put out that he was here illegally and then since then has gone to no comment route. they won't answer me, i've got numerous inquiries into them and i don't know anybody else who has been able to get any clarity on exactly the route that jose ibarra took to laken riley. i bring this up, venezuela is one of the protected status nations. that's a policy initiative that's a creature of the biden administration that all but walks certain people from certain nations into this country, as long as they're sponsored. now, the reporting is that ibarra had a sponsor here in new york. i've spoken to that sponsor, an ngo in new york, they disclaim all knowledge of him and said there's been a lot of this sort of fraud, people using their name. where does this go? my point is this, it's almost worse than admitting that he was here illegally, if in fact a procedure in place so

exploited that the jose ibarras of the world can walk into the country. i'm very, very skeptical, the president won't even say her name and we just can't get any clarity. where is mayorkas to tell us this is what happened. hold a press conference, the american people want to understand what went wrong here. >> very great point there about procedures not being necessarily followed. so this is much deeper than just policies and different things being enacted. both the president and the former president down on the border late last week. hundreds of miles apart in perhaps thousands of miles apart as far as how to approach this border issue. take a look. >> this is a joe biden invasion. this is a biden invasion over the past three years. >> here is what i would say to mr. trump, instead of playing politics with the issue, instead of playing members of congress to block the legislation, join me or i'll join you in telling the congress to pass this bipartisan border security bill. we can do it together.

>> i want your thoughts quickly on this. he's calling on the former president to take action. we know that there's a discrepancy as to what the former president did enacted and what this president could be doing. why is he calling on president trump to be the one to do something? >> because he wants to shift the blame. it's an election year and he knows that he's underwater on this issue. it's the number one issue for americans and he wants that heat off of himself and onto trump and onto congress. he is still asking for the senate to pass that failed schumer-lankford bill that actually would create more victims like laken riley. it would require release into the country. it would require more mass parole. it would fund billions more dollars to the ngo's that's carried out the shelter and transportation for so many illegal aliens. we don't need that bill and don't need more victims like ms. riley. >> thank you for your insights this afternoon. greatly appreciate it. >> molly, a jaw-dropping scene

>> this is wild. a firefighter is speaking on his first one-on-one, straight to fox, about risking his life to save a semi truck driver and a veteran, after an accident that left her in a cab dangling off the side of a bridge. cb cotton is here with more on this exclusive sorry. >> hi, the louisville first responders sum it up best. what started as a 911 call ended with an extraordinary rescue of a woman who spent at least 45 minutes in the cab of a truck as it dangled over the ohio river. emergency crews say around 12 p.m. friday, this semi truck and three other vehicles with involved in a collision and the semi crashed through the guardrail barrier. rescuers got to the scene in just three minutes and set up a rope system to free the driver trapped in a cab. divers were in the water below ready to take action in case the truck fell. bryce from the louisville fire department rappelled down and

harnessed the woman and both were lifted to safety. and the woman, who was also a veteran, stayed calm following his instructions and what happened next, a testament to the power of faith. >> i said, here, this is going to go around your chest, around your legs and she was able to help me in that situation and then we had to cut her out of the seat belt. once i got her out of that, then i asked her, i said, do you pray? and she said yes, so she just started praying the entire time and i was like, i got you. >> so carden is a six year veteran of the louisville fire department and he says his wife watched the rescue live on tv as it happened. and breathed a sigh of relief once he was back safe on the ground and also the father of a 1-year-old. so the cause of the crash is still under investigation, but the woman in the cab of the semi was taken to the hospital and is expected to be okay. two other people involved in the initial crash were taken to the hospital with life threatening injuries. so, prayers continue for them

charges. and fani willis, whether she benefitted from her relationship with special prosecutor nathan wade. during closing arguments, trump's team argued an appearance of conflict was enough grounds for disqualification. >> i want to make clear to the court that i-- the law in georgia suggests and is very clear that we can demonstrate an appearance of a conflict of interest and that's sufficient. >> thank you. >> please be seated. >> but the fulton county district attorney's office says the bar for kicking her off is much higher. >> the defense must show an actual conflict in order to have the district attorney disqualified and that actual conflict has to be in the form of showing that miss willis in this instance received a financial benefit or gain in

relation to the outcome of the case. >> if willis is disqualified, the case will inevitably be delayed, injecting more uncertainty in trump's calendar of legal challenges. it's already unclear if trump's two federal criminal cases will move forward before election day. judge ilene cannon did not make a decision friday whether the trial involving trump's handling of classified documents will begin. and the defense argues that he shouldn't be held for things that took place in office. molly: mike. mike: for more on the close are arguments in georgia, we're joined by former federal prosecutor, and andrew, welcome. >> thank you, mike. mike: yesterday in close are arguments in atlanta one of the attorneys made the case that fani willis and nathan wade have not been truthful. let's play it. >> the relationship started in 2019. the relationship continued through 2020, the relationship

continued through 2021. looking at the cell phone communications, just in the first 11 months of 2021, over 2000 calls, almost 9800 texts. you know, i don't even think love struck teenagers communicate that much. mike: what's the impact of that on this case in georgia? >> well, there's various different types of analysis that the judge has to do in order to determine if fani willis and nathan wade should be disqualified from further participation in the case. on one hand, it's a question whether there's an actual or an apparent conflict of interest. on the other hand, there's a question of, essentially, forensic fraud or forensic misleading of the court and this is what gets into the untruthful statements that are alleged to have been made. the judge is going to have to pour through the evidence to determine what portions of testimony in combination with what portions of, for example, the cell phone records and the other answers that were given actually violate the oath that

was taken and i think that a very strong case was made that there were fabrications and exaggerations made along the way in order to protect their status on this case. mike: former president trump was in court in florida yesterday, that's the classified documents case. what's your assessment of that after yesterday's hearing? >> well, certainly the fight yesterday was about when this case is headed to trial. florida has been a little bit more lenient in terms of pushing out the trial date, but now the battle seems to be between a july date and an august date his defense counsel reluctantly indicated could be acceptable, but they were pushing for it to be after the election. in either event, if it gets to a point where the trial is, for example, before the election, and donald trump doesn't feel as though he's ready for trial, doesn't feel as though he's got trust in his defense team, the supreme court has pretty clearly said that a defendant has the right to fire their defense team at least once in the course of a prosecution and that could, if he did such a

thing, delay the case for many months, even if the court sets a trial date for august or july. mike: fascinating. so that could be a potential tactic if necessary. so, it's tough keeping all of these dates and all of these different cases straight. we have a timeline we can show our audience, kind of showing some of it, in flux, as you look also at the political calendar, super tuesday coming up on tuesday, but then you've got a bunch of other cases, either the new york state hush money case is supposed to start later this month, but you've got the republican national convention mid july, tbb on the georgia 2020 election trial. what about the fluidity of the dates and trying to keep all the different arguments straight? >> well, i think there's first and foremost, a question of what donald trump's interest is in all of that. certainly, every time one of his cases comes to the forefront and he finds himself in a courtroom, i think that there is some degree of a political boost that he does get. so, onexactly what he wants along the way. the case that i'm looking at in

the nearest future is the new york case, that case has been widely criticized. it is something that, by almost all legal analysis should have been just a mere misdemeanor type of allegation that probably should have never made its way to the place that it is at right now. i think that donald trump has a fantastic case to make there. there's a lot to come and that's just in coming weeks. when we look at the full spectrum of cases ahead, i think it's going to be very difficult for prosecutors to get any of these cases to trial before the election in november. even if they're set for trial at this point, there's many different ways that that can be delayed or ultimately the supreme court could determine that he does, in fact, have immunity and none of these cases go or at least the vast majority of them go. mike: fascinating. former federal prosecutor, andrew, thank you for your time and analysis today. >> thank you. molly: u.s. military planes

dropping 38,000 meals into gaza, in the first round of emergency humanitarian aid authorized by president biden. this, as israel is facing sharp criticism after more than 100 people died trying to get aid earlier this week. mike tobin is live with the details from tel aviv israel, mike to you. >> hi, molly. the u.s. air force executed what the white house has promised will be many food drops into the gaza strip. c-130's dropped pallets where the human crisis seems to increase every day. they were adjusted by the jordanian air force. and this followed where there was a mob of hungry palestinians. at some point israeli forces said they were threatened. and in some cases they said

they were stampeded by the palestinians, and the trucks ran them over and the palestinian health ministry says at least 115 palestinians were killed in the incident. today, another aid convoy was mobbed in the gaza strip by people trying to get some food. underscoring the need for the pair drops into the gaza strip. meantime, the british ship rubymar was hit by a houthi missile back in february 18th. it's now sunk in the red sea. houthis had been taking shots at merchant ships in solidarity since the beginning of the gaza war. rubymar was hit and drifted into the red sea with the stern sinking. the ship could be seen for weeks trailing fertilizer and fuel. and friday, stormy weather went through and now the ship is gone. the internationally recognized government in yemen calls the

history. the smoke house creek fire is currently covering more than a million acres and two people have been confirmed dead. for more on the efforts currently to contain this fire, we're joined by jason nedlo, a public information officer with the southern area blue teamworking with a collaboration, a big effort forest service, firefighters, there's a lot going on here. over the last couple of days there's been some snow. it helped things get knocked down to about 15% containment. now, windy, dry conditions. jason, what do the people there on the ground, the people that live in this area need to know now? >> well, the big thing is what you just said, we have a red flag warning this weekend. what that means is we're going to have high winds, low relative humidity, which are just the precise prescription for large wildfire growth. so, there's really three legs to the fire stool. there's oxygen and an ignition

source, and fuel. we have fuel and we have the oxygen in the form of strong winds, so, if we could limit any type of ignition source which means people being very careful about fire out in the woods and the grasslands. that's the key message we're trying to put out this weekend. molly: one of the things we're seeing from remarkable pictures we show as you're speaking with us, is the intensity of the smoke. if this comes close to you you may not be able to move through, you may not be able to see and get out. so how can people stay safe and adhere to these warnings given out by the authorities? >> well, the best thing that they can do is really pay attention to what's going on. i thank you and all the media that's been interested in this. that's a great way for us to get information out to the public about what's going on out there and the other thing, we're putting information out on the web. we're putting information out through the texas forest

service and the local judge executives and their offices are putting that information out. so just stay alert and pay attention when warnings come through, please heed those, whether they're shelter in place, or evacuation warnings. we're not anticipating any of that right now, but if it does happen please adhere to whatever messages are put out. molly: and there are a number of smaller fires as well. concerns about the combination, so it's really an unusual situation, this being the largest fire ever in state history. something the authorities are working together to handle. so, part of this is also a relief effort. there are people who have lost their homes that literally have been reduced to ash. what's being done to help people there on the ground? >> well, the local community here as well as people across the state of texas, and even the nation, frankly, they have been donating all kind of supplies, money as well. so, you know, people who have lost their homes they're now in shelters, i believe most of those are in churches, but as far as getting those people

food, blankets, clothing, when you've lost everything, you really need to start from scratch. so trying to get those people what they need, and the other thing that sometimes is missed in this is that grass is essentially food for all of the cattle in this region, and so when that's -- when you burn over a million acres, you've lost a significant food source for all of the cattle so people have been donating hay as well that they've been shipping into the area so the farmers and ranchers have feed for their cattle. molly: that's a great point. the economic impact of this not to be lost. jason nedlo thank you for bringing us this information and helping people stay safe on the ground. we're thinking of you and also the firefighters trying to get a handle on this. thank you, jason, we appreciate it. >> thank you. appreciate your time. mike: republican presidential candidate nikki haley holding a rally in north carolina ahead of the primary on tuesday. let's listen in. >> we'll eliminate their earmarks and i'll veto any

>> dangerous blizzard conditions are hitting california this weekend with more than 10 feet of snow and nearly 200 mile per hour wind gusts. meteorologist adam klotz has your forecast. >> yeah, mike, this is a major winter storm we're seeing battering the west coast. currently rounds of very heavy snow right along the coast it's heavy rain.

at high elevations, look at the mountain tops, anywhere from 6 to 10,000 feet, but winds as high as 190 miles an hour, a really powerful storm system that's just in the early stages still. it's going to last through the weekend. these are some of our snowfall totals thus far and you're seeing areas already up to 42 inches, so well over three feet so far and again, more is still to come. these are our winter weather advisories across the region and some of the areas where you're seeing the orange, that's a blizzard warning. it means visibility is going to be low, white-out conditions for hours and hours and hours across some of the regions. the sierra nevada is going to be one of the spots to see the most snow perhaps as much as 10 feet over the course of the weekend. snow still to come. i showed you some of the areas where we're seeing well over three feet, but when you start to see some of these colors here, pink colors, you're talking another easily three to four feet. there will be isolated areas where it's higher than that and then this whole system does spill out across the west and ultimately into the rockies as well. again, one area, mike, where
