statements. biden will try to highlight his achievements the last three years, getting the economy back on its feet. creating jobs after the pandemic. targeting to voter constituencies whose support he needs to win in 2024 and concerned about the economy. is he going to focus on efforts to drive down prescription drug prices and crack down on junk fees and things like that. we do certainly expect him to make the usual push he has been doing lately urging congress to pass ukraine aid, israel aid, support for taiwan in the indo-pacific and, of course, efforts to secure the border. is he definitely going to be hitting republicans for not passing the senate negotiated bill. but it's going to be a very delegate balancing act to pitch a positive message about a second term all while having the stamina and vigor at 81 years old to convince voters that he's right for the job, guys. >> steve: that's right. jachecklehim like marjorie tayle

square. those believed to be members of this gang. the overall concern that's really being highlighted right now is that this gang, tren de aragua, or tda as it's known, may be trying to establish themselves much like we have seen ms-13. now, finally, back out here, in eagle pass, this is one of the main areas, venezuelan migrants, particularly come to this part of texas and so border patrol officials here are starting to really pay attention to the tattoos that are on some of these venezuelan migrants, particularly the single adult males crossing to see if they might have any ties to the dangerous gang, not a positive development. >> meanwhile, we will see what they do about this surge because it's showing no signs of slowing down, guys? >> brian: i understand they also wear bulls jackets even though they are not nba fans. they wear bulls jackets. this guy in particular doing go ibarra accused of trying to bite a border patrol agent. they took pictures of his tattoos at the time, too. i mean, if you get a tattoo and

conservative policies. >> brian: big story today. >> just go back to the summer of 2020 and how things started to change. well, you know what? here we are in the spring, almost the spring of 2024, and things are changing the other way. let's start here in new york city. last week there was a train conductor on one of the subways and what he did was he had the audacity to stick his head out the window to see if everybody was in the train and somebody had a blade and slashed his throat. that's one of the stories that the governor of new york told yesterday as she dispatched a thousand national guards and also cops down to the subway. >> there you see the national guard. they have got guns. they look scary. they will not be able to arrest anybody. they will do some bag checks. but the whole idea is just to make it look like essentially all hands on deck. we have got some cops. don't try anything stupid. >> ainsley: the mayor put out --

sent additional 1,000 city police officers into the subway in february after this uptick in january with assaults and thefts. look, people in new york, they are cared to take the subway. >> lawrence: experiment failed in all the liberal cities. same thing in san francisco. prop e and f. e would encourage residents as well as city leaders to work with law enforcement. and f would suggest that there needs to be drug testing for people. >> ainsley: i love that. >> lawrence: for people to get welfare. the democrats and progressives are freaking out. san francisco chronicle saying can you no longer call yourself a progressive city if you are gonna have these law and order measures. again, the progressives don't want to end the experiment after this death, poverty and destruction. >> brian: do you see what is going on? d.c. says we are changing and be tougher on crime. governor sends the national guard down to the subway where subway crime is up 20%. in oregon they are saying you know you can do any drugs you want in the middle of the street at any moment? turns out it was a bad move.

who would have thought this experiment would have gone awry. they are pulling back on that? what's going on in our country you had your chance for four years. you thought if i'm easier on criminals, it will make it better for everyone. turns out that criminals laughed in your face, committed five times the crime, you don't put them in jail. and even on long island we'll discuss this, they found body parts linked to four people who put the body parts and they let them out with ankle monitors. you can hack -- you can kill somebody, hack up their body, and still go home the same day. >> steve: because, brian, they were only charged with having essentially having things that could kill people. >> brian: an arm. arm without a license. >> lawrence: aaron'sly, only reason why they are doing this election time. all of the sudden they are backing away from this major reset. this is coming from the white house telling all of these -- remember, he was just meeting with the mayors, meeting with these governors. we got to turn this around before election or it's going to be a landslide victory.

>> steve: well, regarding the election, you are right. the problem is the super progressives are being essentially primaried by people in their own party who say the crazy wacky super left stuff where people can hack people up and get out of jail free, that's not working. so now in san francisco, to the point about the chronicle saying it's no longer progressive is the people who were super ultra progressive are now being replaced on the democratic council by moderates. can you believe moderates? >> ainsley: that is why this election is so important. are you better off? is our country better off under joe biden? no. look at crime. now they are walking back all of those progressive policies because they see what is happening. and democrats who thought those policies were great are now starting to want the moderates, too. our country is not better off. we live in a very scary time. just ask precious laken riley's parents. they thought their daughter was safe at uga. uga is a great school. they thought she was safe.

days ago, kyrsten sinema said compromise is a dirty word in washington, d.c. i'm out of here. so the moderate is dwindling. >> lawrence: speaking of capitol hill, happening today the house is expected to hear testimony on the federal government's weaponization of the banking system. >> ainsley: hillary vaughn is live on capitol hill with a preview. >> lawmakers are trying to protect americans from being flagged as a homegrown violent extremist just because of who they vote for. who they pray to. or where they shop after the financial crimes department at the treasury admitted they did ask banks to snoop on americans' transactions as part of their investigation into january 6th. that included political terms and transactions like trump, maga, biden, or kamala. large purchases from dick's cabela's or brass pro and purchases of any religious books. today the house will hear from witnesses who are warning congress that this is dangerous. one of those experts joined "fox & friends first" earlier.

"wall street journal" opinion columnist jason rice says bidenomics are to blame for all of this. jason, i want to go to this clip from yesterday because i know a lot of people want to talk about the shoes. they want to talk about the mugshot. but, for some black voters, it's real simple. let's talk to this guy from allen, texas. watch. >> i love to hear donald trump talk every time he gets on stage. you know, as a black republican from the inner city i can tell

you i like donald trump but it has nothing to do with tennis shoes or indictments. the majority of black men across america we do have conservative values. we do have businesses and we want to raise our kids without the undue influence of democrat policies so that's what he stands for and we are going to stand with him. >> lawrence: jason, it sounds pretty simple to me. >> i think it's -- i think it's very simple. you see it's really a function of what trump's economy prior to covid was doing for the working class in this country. and it's just that a lot of nonwhite voters are overrepresented in the working class, whether they are black voters or hispanic voters. but they saw themselves doing much better than they had been doing under obama. and they see themselves today as not doing as well under president biden. and i think it really is that simple. what we saw prior to the pandemic under donald trump is rising wages. we saw lower inflation. we saw lower poverty rates. low unemployment rates.

and i think that the working class misses that. and black and hispanics miss that and this is worrisome for democrats because these are nonwhite voters that their party typically can count on. you know, typically black votes around 90% for democrats. and right now, trump is winning close to one in four of those black voters. and is he losing the hispanic vote outright. so, if you are the white house, you are very, very concerned about these polls. >> lawrence: jason, i want to go back to that polling when it comes to black voters. because, you know, it's 28% for donald trump right now. and you got 66 for biden. and when some people see these polls they say 28%? that's not that much. but, when you are comparing it to 4% prior, i mean, that's a big jump. this is marathon, not a sprint, right? >> you are right. and we are 8 months out. that could change. and, perhaps, one of these court cases or two of these court cases could go against trump and that could change voter behavior. this is not a done deal yet.

but these numbers are worrisome if you are a democrat for the reason you just stated. the party usually looks at black voters and thinks well, they will vote democrat or they will stay home. this poll shows that some of them are jumping to donald trump. and that is what is scary for them. and, again, i think it's really just the function that these folks were doing better under donald trump's policies. and the left, particularly the left wing media can't get their head around that that is the reality. your paycheck was going further. if you weren't, you know, you were talking about the prices of fast food burgers just now. that is something working class voters understand. it's in their face every day. higher gas prices, higher food prices. and they have -- under donald trump they were not as concerned about that. >> lawrence: the former president has made it very clear that he's going to go to all of these major cities and offer them a choice. and i think that's been lacking from the republican party for far too long. we'll be following it, jason. thank you so much for joining

transgender athletes participating in women's sports at county facilities is illegal. bruce blakeman signed the order and is filing that lawsuit against letitia james. great to see you, mr. executive. so, are you surprised letitia james came after you to cease and desist and is that why you took action? >> yeah. i am surprised because you would have thought that the attorney general would be supporting me and protecting women from biological males who are injecting themselves into all female leagues and teams and women are a protected class under federal law. and that's why i brought the federal action. because, when she sent me the cease and desist order threatening me with legal action, i had my lawyers research it, and my lawyers came to the conclusion that she is violating federal law and that what we're doing is appropriate classifications are allowed under federal law. and women and girls are a protected group under federal law. transgender people are not a

protected class under federal law. so, you have a protected class. we're trying to protect them from biological males who are bigger, stronger, faster, they are robbing women of fair competition. they are creating unsafe environments and, quite frankly, we don't want biological males in girl's locker rooms. >> brian: showing some of this horrendous video where a girl tries to drive the lane and gets hit by someone who claims to be a many would. this is what she says. the law is perfectly clear, you cannot discriminate against a person because of their gender identity or expression. we have no room for hate or bigotry in new york. your response? >> well, that's just name-calling. first of all, nassau county is a very accepting place. we welcome all laugh styles, every race, religion, ethnic group. basically, protecting women. and that's something that should be applauded not denigrated. think about it. women have been fighting for decades for fair competition in

sports. and transgender, biological males can play against men. they can play in co-ed leagues. and they can play in transgender leagues if they like. there is plenty of outlets for transgenders to play. i didn't ban because there is no come at the timive vantage and safety and security issue. transgender athletes are welcome to compete in nassau county not just against little girls and all female teams. >> brian: what's the reaction? where is this suffolk county executive? upstate new york, everybody thinks of new york as this liberal place but not if you go around the whole state are you surprised other county executives have haven't joined you? >> well, i'm hoping that they will because i think, again, this is not only a fairness issue but it's a safety issue for women. and as i said, women have been fighting for fairness for decades. title ix was enacted by the federal government to protect

republican primary for the state's house 14th district beating incumbent george cleveland by 95 votes. and wyatt gable joins us right now. wyatt, congratulations. how did you do it? >> thanks for having me. just a lot of hard work. a lot of doors knocked. a lot of phone calls made. and a lot of people that were helping me out and i really appreciate it. >> steve: you bet. i understand that the germ of the idea came to you during covid and the lockdown and how you, as a kid, felt like government was stripping away your rights. and so you reached out to this guy. this guy who would eventually be your opponent. did you hear back from him? >> i remember i was sitting in microeconomics class and i wrote him an email and never heard anything back. i remember how i felt and i didn't want anyone to feel the way i felt not being left out. that's where i got the idea and here we are now.

>> steve: here we are now. what was your platform? >> big three things focusing on education like simple things, home economics, shop, carpentry, so students prepare. the chinese communist party owns thousands of acres in north carolina. so use imminent domain to buy that all back. and just smart spending. you know, we spend way too much money federal government and state government. so we need to rein that in to lower our taxes. >> steve: clearly, you are a new generation. generational change for the 14th district there in north carolina. and when you look at people who vote, 18 to 29-year-olds, and you are in that demographic generally don't vote. but, if they do vote, they vote for a democrat. so you tried to change that, right? >> yeah. absolutely. i feel if people my age and in that age range can see me, someone who is 21 and younger be a part of the g.o.p. and the republican party, maybe i can help encourage them to feel the same way only, you know, run for

offers themselves but hopefully can join the g.o.p. and the conservative side. >> steve: absolutely. i understand because you are in a pretty red district, you're pretty confident you probably are going to win in november, right? >> we're very confident. we have got a lot of republicans around here and a lot of independents that vote republican as well. so we are very confident. but we are going to put in the work just like we did for the primary. >> steve: you're going to have to split your time between the legislature and your classroom. because you are currently a junior at east carolina university. is there any way you could get extra credit for being in the house of representatives? >> i don't know. i will be sure to ask because everything helps, that's for sure. but, you know, i think the school is going to be very flexible and help me out a lot because i'm there to help them as well because i love to be able to help grow my university but getting a degree and representing my district are the two most important things. >> steve: that's right. you want to talk to the guy who is in charge of the district, he is over there in the history class. wyatt, congratulations.
