consolidate his base and win over swing and independent moderate voters. these voters are protesting donald trump and saying to the republican party that they won't vote for him because of the extremism and he continues to double down on it. and our campaign is making sure that we communicate with these voters and letting them know that anybody who cares about donald trump's extreme agenda that they have a home. >> carley: president biden is off to michigan today and trying to dispel any notion the democratic party isn't unified after but after protesters lined the streets for his wisconsin visit yesterday, this is biden's first visit to michigan since over 100,000 democrats voted against him in the state primary. mike hundred bee is a former arkansas governor and he joins me now. governor, good morning to you. >> good morning, carley. you know, it's fascinating to see that 100,000 people in michigan said yeah, not joe. anybody but. that was a fascinating election moment there. >> carley: it certainly was. it's clear that the president

has a problem on his hands with this uncommitted voter thing. and you just heard in that soundbite that a big part of the biden campaign strategy is to paint donald trump as an extremist. do you think that's going to work? >> no. and i'll tell you why, because, when these democrats say oh, is he an extremist, a lot of people scratching their head saying he was extreme about putting america in energy independent situation. my gasoline was half of what it ended up being under joe biden. he was so extreme my grocery prices were stable. i could afford bacon, butter, bread, and i was happier. my whole life was better. things were secure. we prosecuted criminals. and we didn't let them back on the streets. and we were securing the border. if that's extremism. give me some more of it. so, this is a ridiculous campaign strategy on the part of democrats because all they have to do is listen to what donald trump actually says and then they need to just ask themselves a simple question. was this country doing better

under donald trump than it has been under joe biden? and that's easy to answer. and the result of that, that's not extremism, that's putting america first and a lot of americans would love to see our country be put first by its own government. >> carley: and bacon, butter and bread sounds like a delicious breakfast sandwich i will need to find during the next three hours of "fox & friends." poll shows donald trump beating president biden in two battleground states that president biden won in 2020, pennsylvania and arizona. the biden people are you, of course, going to say there is plenty of time to catch up here. these polls are just a moment in time. but when poll after poll shows the same thing, you really do have to pay attention. so, what does the former president need to do to maintain that lead? >> keep talking about the issues that matter to americans in their homes and families. right now, we just got word this week, every american family is

$11,434 worse off under the joe biden than they were under donald trump. that's a combination of food prices, rent, car prices, fuel, everything. you add is all up, and an american family is worse off -- think about that -- by over $11,000. that's real money there are many american families that are a simple root canal away from financial disaster. so the reason you are seeing some pretty remarkable things, a good example is in nonwhite voters, joe biden won those voters by 50 points four years ago. now, he is only 12 points difference with trump. that is a huge turn. >> carley: yeah. it certainly is. and in many cases it is all about the economy. governor huckabee, thank you so much for joining us. have a great day.
