first we have a fox weather alert a debtly storm bringing tornadoes to the south. the cook county sheriff confirming at least five people were killed wow and 60 hurt in northern texas. will: it is close to home meanwhile for millions are under a tornado and thunderstorm watch with damage and power outage reported in oklahoma, missouri, texas, kansas, and arkansas. rachel: let's turn to meteorologist rick for our fox weather forecast. good morning. rick: we've been in a incredible pattern of six to seven weeks across the central portion of the country and further to the east. we have the threat tomorrow but our overall pattern doesn't really break down much. so i think later on this coming week we're going see more bouts of severe weather probably coming towards parts of the central plains so our -- we're going to continue to watch this and you're going to need to continue to be prepared unfortunately for many this coming your way.

today's target of this moves a little bit further off to the east see this darker color we're talking about a lot of hail. strong winds and then that tornado threat that we have this is our tornado threat notices that to the center that's where the bigger bull's-eye is and around that confluence of the ohio and mississippi river that is the area that likely will be the most active this morning. already tornado warnings now in effect over the boot hill of missouri. this line of storm also bringing flooding with this very heavy rain falling with these storms that means flooding that comes in probably right after some of these tornadoes that could cause some of that damage that makes things really rough. we'll see all of this batch of storms through illinois and indiana throughout the day and behind it get a little clearing later on in the afternoon a confront move through to spark even some more severe weather. notice this, worst threat for flooding is a little bit further to the east as this rain makes its way towards parts of kentucky in towards tennessee. that's going to be later on this afternoon flooding threat

[laughter] >> well we had representative wesley hunt retired army captain and west point grad on earlier to react to biden's speech and this latest sort of i guess you could call it corn pop moment. listen. >> i went to west point we all gramentsed so i know a thing or two about west point graduation speech hands down most ridiculous thing i've ever seen. this should be about the cadets these brave men and women that are entering a world to where they may be asked to give their lives for their country. and joe biden is making a joke about stories about his own personal loof that we know are false. stories that we keep see over and over again a result of cognitive decline and it is on full displace and whenever we start seeing stories like this with the levels and mistelling of the stories well we know as americans are this, it is time

there he doesn't have a perspective of the student but what it means to serve there in all kind of capacity. you know i'm sitting here watching that what was it like to be sit in the audience hear a president come up there and you know maybe you don't know that story is not true. but the whole speech was just kind of like monotone yelling nothing inspirational about it reading a teleprompter man, i feel like those men and women deserve more. they deserve more for their commander in chief and a commencement. rachel: as you said about to graduate coming into a dangerous time -- in america. just even the report we did earlier with morgan in taiwan. it is very scary time not exactly -- the commander in chief that inspires kind of confidence on that you would hope to have coming into the armed forces. and such a dangerous time. let's bring in fox news sunday anchor our friend shannon bream. qhar your thoughts on all of this? >> good morning it is interesting to watch the

president has had in a number of different speeches there's an analysis interesting piece by jason riley talking about him speak at morehouse college last week how it was dark and discouraging america is not with you and don't care about you. all of that kind of message then yesterday you hear him again speaking out -- one of our military academies, where these are like cream of the crop best of the best now talking about -- i know america we believe kick do anything so you know you tailor your messages to different places. but everybody wants to have -- a speaker who is inspirational, and, i mean, i know we've heard the rodger x story before so is makes me chuckle a little bit and will to your point if you were a receiver wouldn't you want to be catching passes from a guy you've heard is so good and can't play quarterback which you don't play it is very confusing but it got some laughing it was a good line. rachel: so interesting that you bring that up that he tailored his message because we were all yesterday talking about speech that donald trump had given earlier in the week.

in the south bronx, and what was fascinating about that -- to me was drump has not -- doesn't change his message if he's in front of black, brown, you know, rally goers or if he's in front of the rnc or lincoln day crowd it's the same message, in fact, the same message from 2016 he's still talking about the border still talking about trade and making american manufacturing -- you know, more friendly for american workers. so it is just kind of interesting. interesting you brought that point up. let's move to this because we know donald trump has a trial, the verdict is set to come very soon. and apparently the biden campaign has said that extending on whatever that verdict is or -- just after that verdict comes out, they're going to have a different tone in their campaign they're going get more aggressive. >> thing they have to think about is to be cautious about this language his own son has two criminal trials that could

get to some kind of conclusion before the election. and if you're going to now start branding president trump convicted felon donald trump there's a possibility that people will say convicted felon hunter biden so hunter pushed to get one trial pushed into september and i wound or about that from a political standpoint listen this june trial will happen on the gun charges within a couple of weeks it l be sort of for a lot of people probably and yengt mile at that point because politics moves so fast. but the fact they push the second trial so hunter is now with another criminal trial in september. in the midst of, you know, getting to the finish line for the election. the white house and this president have to think about what they're going to say about somebody being convicted of felony charges because there's a very real possibility they're going to have to have that same conversation about the president's son. >> well, shannon i know why a big show today fox news sunday today, tell us about what you've got coming up. >> so we have congressman byron donalds on the short list a lot

it is priced out of their demographic. i mean growing up if we went to a mexican restaurant it was taco bell like we didn't have a lot of money that's what we knew. and at least then the menu was cheap and i could buy two big bags of it and bring it home to my friends and crystal has a five for five best deal in fast food right now but a lot of fast food companies they're not big corporate owned. they're franchises that means individual entrepreneurs in a region has to hit a bottom lean with them and the opportunity to do that is getting more tough. rachel: i think it just highlight the fact that inflation which we know is -- caused by so many of the energy policies that joe biden has purposely put in place to, you know, satisfy a certain very particular niche, you know, elite constituenty of his inflation hits the working class it hits the poor. listen if taco bell goes up, the, you know, elites on the upper east side here or his

donors, either they're not eating or they don't care that the price went up. this is like a night out for a lot of families and now they're being priced out of the market. will: think what american people are saying for years now, obviously, we have an obesity crisis in america. and one of the arguments has been that eating healthy is a luxury it is a privilege of rich people because it cost money to eat healthy. and so, you know, what they're suggesting is -- fast food is one of the staples of lower ends of the socioeconomic spectrum now a fastest luxury so what are you supposed to eat and can you afford to eat in the inflation? joey: that's the topic food is expense eve whatever the numbers that the white house wants to put out on the margins, food and necessity of life is expensive across the board. rachel: reverberating effects with not as many workers and restaurants are hurt by this. you know maybe there's a silver

will: texas high school valedictorian leaving crowd in tears dedicate it to his late father just hours after his father was laid to rest. listen. >> my father died yesterday may 15th, 2024. and i had i attended his funeral today right before graduation that's why my arms are shaking because i had to carry him into his grave and i wanted to spend every hour of every day working every day to achieve all of my goals because that's what he wanted and i'll do it for him and all of you take a look your loved ones and you would do the same because i know how beautiful they are. >> alan is the valedictorian and he joins us now. alan thanks for being with us. what an incredibly strong moment, you know i can just tell

you someone who lost their father at a fairly young age a little bit older than you that's a very difficult thing to do. to get up in that moment and be public and speak. you showed incredible strength where did you find that strength? >> well, to be honest i didn't know if i even had this vengt to do it. i was up there talking about my dad and at any time i could have wanted to stop. but i looked in the audience and i saw people listening to what i was saying and really taking it in and like relating to me. you know, getting touch d by the words that were coming out of my mouth and that really kept me going and pushed me to finish my speech. will: did you plan on it? you mention there you looked out into the crowd, you been to the funeral that morning did you think -- i'm going to talk about my dad today? i'm going to talk about what is my life has been like over the last you know, 24 hours? or did it just sort of come to you in the moment? >> well, i wrote the speech the morning before.

which is the morning he died. and that was before i even knew that his funeral would be the next day. so -- i knew that i was going talk about him. i didn't know that i was going to be burying him right before i give the speech. will: what -- so alem if i understood timeline you knew you would be talking about your dad just not in that context our curious what changed considering everything that changed in your life. >> in the origin script i mentioned that he died, it was -- a -- pretty similar if i'm remembering correctly but the part about the funeral the part about me burying him an ending and that was all -- added later that was not in the script that was in the moment that was from the heart. will: what's -- what did you hear from people after this speech?

you could almost hear people muttering whoever is recording it on the iphone what did you hear from people after your speech? >> a lot of people, a lot of my friends told me they didn't know. but they all told me they were proud of me. a lot of people i didn't know told me how strong i was. they told me -- about their loved ones that they've lost. it was really -- it was really a touching moment after i gave my speech talking to everyone. it really made me feel so much better. will: i know you're headed to chemical engineering impressive path you've put yourself on and i mention this fathers are a source of advice fathers fathere where you pick up the phone call to help to have some problem answered. i'm curious as you sit here today what is your take away from everything that's occurred in your life over the past, you know, short period of time and where you're headed in the future.
