are penetrating our border as well. the fbi has arrested 8 men who had crossed the border all with ties to isis. they are from tajikistan a russian republic. these men had been living in the united states for some period of time. we have few specifics but ice officials are saying that there were no red flags about these individuals at their points of entry. what? the red flag is this: tajikistan. it's a known recruitment magnet for isis. in fact, the terrorists who killed 137 charged in that horrific attack on the moscow ballet, they were citizens from tajikistan. only last sunday undoubtedly to soften that blow when this news came out, the biden administration let it leak that they were beginning to turn away migrants from six specific countries including tajikistan. now, this is a classic cya move and not the first time they pulled this stunt. after an afghan migrant was on the terror watch list.

he was waved in, then arrested, then released again into the united states. the biden dhs announced that it had plugged a loophole in their border policy. a total travesty. by the way, biden's current catch and release policy still allows migrants access to the united states for more than 100 other countries. now, how many times have we reported that these people coming across the border are young men of military age overwhelmingly? and democrats literally never cared. they only care when it embarrasses them politically. so, there's no telling what kind of information the government is sitting on about these men and other potential terrorists. can you imagine? now, it's inevitable that people are going to be killed in the united states but, again, democrats do not care. they always knew, didn't they, that a certain percentage of these millions of migrants were going to include hardened

criminals and isis cell men's. they kept into the country anyway. they even ignored their own fbi director's warnings. >> increasingly concerning is the potential for a coordinated attack here in the homeland, not unlike the isis-k attack we saw at the russia concert hall back in march. when i sat here last year, i walked through how we were already in a heightened threat environment. and sense then, we have seen the threat from foreign terrorists rise to a hole whole another le. >> laura: of course democrats aren't going to do anything to respond to that even politico noticed the biden administration utter lack of transparency here. lying that this were clear about policies that impact american security and foreign policy? >> the president is clear about where he stands.

he believes we are a nation of immigrants and a nation of laws. >> we made clear. >> president biden has consistently been clear. >> we have been very clear about israel has a right to defend its sufficiently. >> we made clear the trend should be concern about anyone. >> laura: we made it clear that freedom beats in the heart of every terrorist. >> laura: true to form the biden administration is keeping information about eight suspects secret like they did regarding the jordanians. all we can conclude from that is that the facts must be very damaging. so going forward, there is no negotiating with the democrats on this. there is no trying to convince them to change course we need beat them by a lot. that's the angle. joining success vivek ramaswamy former presidential candidate. vivek, this really is not surprising. what is surprising, i think, is that we haven't had a major terror attack in the last three and a half years. but this is inevitable, is it

not? >> i'm worried about the next 6 to seven months, laura. we are entering one of the more dangerous periods that since 9/11 since in my lifetime in this country. just do the basic math. if there are upwards of 20 million illegals in this country right now, and that may be a conservative estimate, even if 99 out of 100 came with good intentions that's generous. that's 1%. that's talking about hundreds of thousands of people who are here with ill intentions. that's dangerous and i'm worried about what this country holds in store unless we change leadership and actually start mass deportations and fix that border crisis, now. >> laura: is it too over-the-top to say they are inviting terrorists into the country? until they have to be picked up by having this border as it is. >> they effectively are. >> during my presidential campaign i went to the rio grande. the night i went there two men from lebanon flew across our southern border. think about the pains somebody has to go through in places like

north korea where they could actually seek refugee status but to sneak across the southern border instead. those are not healthy intentions. and so the reality is many people are coming here with bad intentions that the biden administration is tolerating it. they are saying it's cost of doing business of achieving their objective of effectively, laura, importing long run voters and strong the export of long run voters. that's their objective. >> laura: now the acting director of ice, vivek, explained today why these potential terrorists were able to get through this so-called vetting process. watch this. >> sometimes there is no information on individuals. i mean, it's quite common where there is just nothing. you know, you don't have anything. it's no criminal convictions. there is no threat information or whatever on these individuals or maybe the individuals are from an area that are particularly of concern. but that pops up later when you get information later on. >> laura: vivek, then why aren't they shutting the border down? >> well, the reality is the information they haven't received is because they are not collecting it from those other

countries. so, under president trump they said if you don't actually provide the information from that other country, you are not going to be able to enter this country. you got 287 g authorities. the best border policy of all is we don't need new border laws. what we actually need is a new it president who enforces the laws that are already on the books. and that's what we're missing right now. and this is plain and simple, the executive branch can take care of this and get this done. the reality is you need a president with a spine to enforce it and somebody running dhs who is a successor to mayorkas that actually enforces the law rather than negating it or making it up as they go along. >> laura: back in 1919 the border was actually shut down a great fear of anarchists coming into the united states. the border just shut down. the first priority for any administration has to be to protect the american people. >> right. >> laura: this is their last priority at this point. that's all you can conclude here. >> the first and most basic obligation of our moral leaders is to look after our own citizens in this country. the reason, laura, you see this

decline of national pride in our country, the reason why you see the decline of national allegiance in our country is when our own elected leaders stop pledging pledge of allegiance to their citizens, our citizens stop pledges leedgesz to our own nation. this is part of our national decline as a country. fix that border crisis. fix this illegal mass migration and infestation problem in our country. that's the beginning of how we revive the united states. >> laura: yet, at the same time we have republicans, roger wick kerr, mitch mcconnell pushing for increase of military spending to 5% of g.d.p. while we have our southern border open and while we are doing, you know, woke events for the month of june all across the american military apparatus. >> the reality is,. >> laura: why should would he be increasing military spending when we have an open border. >> we should be using military resources at existing spending to protect our own border in this country. homeland security has the coast guard sitting under knight it. they should be occupying the rio grande waterway.

>> laura: all i can say is that the audio of biden's classified docs interview must be really, really, really bad. so bad that merrick garland believed that keeping it secret was worth the risk that he would be held in contempt of congress. sure enough, late today, the house voted to hold him in contempt for refusing to produce the recordings of the president's interview with special counsel robert hur. now, remember, after interviewing biden and then declining to file charges, hur described him as an elderly man with a poor memory pretty charity being. noting that biden's recollection about his time as vice president was hazy. president biden couldn't recall the year that his son died and when he struggled to remember

what a fax machine was, he did it not once but twice. what it was called. joining us now ohio senator j.d. vance. senator, good to see you tonight. why was it important that merrick garland be held in contempt today? >> well, first, laura, if you break the law, you actually have to suffer some consequences for it. we have steve bannon being threatened to be thrown in prison because he was in contempt of congress. you, of course, have multiple other republican officials who have had contempt of congress used to weaponize our justice system against political enemies. and then, of course, you have, remember, eric holder in the biden administration he was in contempt of congress. they did nothing. now merrick garland is in contempt of congress and i think it's important for republicans to say that if you guys try weaponize the political system against your enemies, then we're actually going to follow the law. weaver going to do what we have to do and you are going to suffer the consequence force breaking the law. >> laura: what did holder suffer?

>> nothing. >> laura: isn't he speaking at harvard tonight? i'm just making it up. he has not suffered at all. probably upped his speaking fees. >> this is unfortunately the standard that too many establishment republicans have allowed that democrats are allowed to break the law, no consequences. that has to stop. and if we have learned anything from the lawfare against donald trump, we have to learn that unless republicans fight back against this stuff, it's going to keep on hang. >> laura: garland said there is no legitimate oversight interest in the audio recordings, y'all had the transcript, congress had the transcript, why did you need the recordings, to that what did you say? >> no government interest or oversight interest in knowing how the president of the united states handled a high pressure interview? look, the crazy thing here, laura, they are saying executive privilege. well, the substance of the interview is already out there and the transcript. what this actually goes to is the president's state of mind and whether he frankly has the mental acuity to do the job. it is the hype of the government and government interest to know exactly what he said and how he said it.

>> laura: "the washington post" published a piece last night about biden's kind of going into wilmington and talking about how this is really bothering him. hunter's tremendous vales the conviction and all three counts and he landed in wilmington for a short period of time to, i guess, huddle up business had son could this be a potential off ramp for him. let's say he doesn't perform as well as they had hoped in the debate? >> i'm skeptic there is going to be an off ramp. i think the democrats are stuck. they would like to replace him. >> laura: biden quick sand. >> the contrast is so extraordinary. hunter biden and joe biden have been engaged in corrupt business dealings for a long time and they got this hunter biden gun charge, which was effectively a slap on the wrist to distract from the fact that their family has been corrupt. donald trump allegedly committed a bookkeeping violation and they threw 34 counts at him. the absolute miscarriage of

justice here one guy held to one standard and one guy is held to a different standard. democrats are playing hard ball here and republicans have to win that lesson. >> laura: some media report jared kushner made all this money since he left the white house. i was like he was rich before he was in the white house. probably lost money going to the white house. but no one has been able to answer this question. it's a simple question. how did the bidens get so rich? senator? how did they get so rich? >> well, because they did something that's become all too common in this town which is they traded political favors for money. nobody would pay joe biden or hunter biden a lot of money unless it's for political access. and the contrast, laura, to the trump family, which came in to the white house as billionaires and they are trying to destroy them, is such a good piece of evidence that we have a good public servant in donald trump and we ought to get him back there it's really crazy to me that he was actually successful before politics and now they are trying to destroy his business. joe biden got rich from politics. that's quite a contrast.

>> laura: look, hunter was able to balance some different things. he was a good multi tasker. so maybe he could bring that acumen to the complex world of international finance; very cynical about this. do you think kamala harris could step in and be effective as a campaigner? >> i think that kamala harris is the best insurance policy for joe biden because she is maybe the only person who would be even more sadder than he is. >> laura: she is a good dancer. good to see her. that's not her dancing. just when you thought the bidens couldn't be any more shameless and the entire family cashed in on joe's government position and after hunter brazenly used his last name to indull himself with coke, prostitutes and dead brother's wife. we, the people, are supposed to think that the bidens are the real victims. what reads like a biden campaign press release, politico notes that biden has expressed guilt over the spotlight his career has placed on hunter going so far as to say that he believes it's contributed to his legal

troubles. if i weren't running for re-election hunter would have gotten the plea deal. biden told a confidante earlier this month. that's the politico reporter. forget the sweetheart deal hunter was offered only because of his last name. ignore that all together. despite biden's claim that he would not pardon his son, we all know that's just another meaningless thing that he blurted out. first of all, he hasn't had his sentencing yet. but i don't got that line of analysis or thought at all. because of his dad, they -- the department of justice was using this case to enact that sweetheart deal that you just referenced to make all the other charges just magically go away. if hunter wasn't joe biden's son, that sweetheart deal would have never happened. so, i think the american public is able to see right through that hunter is actually benefiting throughout this process and the justice department was pursuing a charge that a whole lot of other. and company. >> laura: margaritas are coming out later. again, this idea that the bidens after launching these federal prosecutions into trump and then all the state acolytes doing the same thing, they are the victims. and have become richer, i think, than almost anyone during his time in government that i can think of. other than maybe nancy pelosi. she got pretty rich. >> virbled that the bidens have made millions of dollars despite offering nothing of value and no real service. you also have multiple witnesses who have said the bidens were trading political trust and political favor for money. that's like the definition of corruption under our constitutional system. and i really just can't get over the contrast here to where you were saying that you are oppressed by the criminal justice system. he got arrested for putting a gun in a trash can and they haven't touched any of the public corruption. in fact, they used the gun charge, in my view as a distraction from that corruption. it's just a double standard is insane here. but here's the important thing,

♪ >> okay. we have told you about the biden great american comeback, right in because they have to argue that it's all coming back. what's the truth? well, here to help us debunk biden's lies on the economy. byron york, chief political correspondent for "the washington examiner." fox news tributer and some of the best hair on tv. byron, the campaign touted a new inflation report today. bragging about how wages were rising. but give us the full context here. >> well, two big problems with it. the first is that people know their own finances. and we have seen poll after poll after poll of people who feel they have fallen behind and they don't feel they are as well off as they were a few years ago. maybe four years ago to use the political measurement and they don't feel they are going to be as well off if joe biden is elected president. and the other thing is inflation is cumulative. you hear it's 3% now or it was 6% at one time.

but the inflation that happened in 2022 added on top of the inflation that happened in 21. and the inflation in '23 added on top of the inflation in '22. so you look at this and prices are up over 20% in a lot of key areas like groceries. it's -- people know what they are feeling. >> laura: well, beyond feeling are facts, right? i mean, they are measuring the numbers on the increase in costs going back to 2019 instead of measuring it from the day that joe biden was inaugurated, correct? so when they claim that inflation is easing, inflation spiked 19.3%. you break it down for us, please? how is that impacting us? >> it all depends on when you start your measurement. and if you start the measurement at a time when inflation was already beginning, then now it looks like oh, it's coming down, that's really nice. but, if you go back to the trump

♪ >> laura: you have heard of car carjacking this is bus jacking in atlanta and it led to a wild police chase. fox news correspondent kevin corke has all the details, kevin? >> laura, crazy day in atlanta. i'm not kidding. we are talking about a downtown shooting and bus hijacking authorities insist the two incidents were completely unrelated. in the first the man actually entered a food court at peachtree center in downtown atlanta and then shot three people. he was then, of course shot by off duty atlanta police officer. later as laura mentioned there was this deadly chase involving

a gwinnett county transit bus. it ended just east of tucker, georgia. 39-year-old joseph grier who has a criminal record was behind the wheel leading police on a chase that spanned all across atlanta, dekalb county, even gwinnett county. both shooters grier and 34-year-old jerry money malone are convicted felons according to officials in georgia. additionally, both may have been experiencing mental health crises and to say this is grier's first rodeo would be a gross understatement. he has, wait for it, 19 arrests. some of which involved the use of a handgun. now, he has been diagnosed with bipolar disorder and schizophrenia and he has been receiving medical treatment: facing numerous charges among them, murder, kidnapping, hijack, aggravated assault, possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. long rap sheet, laura. >> laura: this was just out of control. >> incredible. >> laura: so sad. so good to see you tonight as

united states in urban areas. we saw it specifically just, you know, a couple days ago san francisco and oakland. basically law enforcement has been helpless in many of these areas to do anything. why is that? like the perfect storm for these analysts to play. there are, like in san francisco, for example, there are 700 -- almost 700 officers down in staffing. they had no intelligence that these were going to take place and it's my understanding from my sources within the agency that when they came over from oakland, they split up and went into different areas. they are becoming more and more sophisticated in these, you know, they call them side shows. there is nothing amusing. there is nothing innocent about these. many people are being hurt. people are being killed. just a couple weeks ago a police officer was severely injured when he was being by a fleeing vehicle. as you know i'm founder of the

somebody get hurt. >> laura: randy, they don't give a rip. a lot of young people are turning to lawlessness. some of it is fed by drugs there are weapons on sight, oftentimes, gangs are involved in some of this. but how do you really combat this? you said there are ways to stop it. what are the ways to stop it other than thousands of police officers on the scene? >> well, it's going to take police response. there's no doubt about that. so, let me point out some successes. san akim sheriff's department. they had a very, very large side show street takeover, whatever you want to call it. lots of violence. lots of spinouts and accidents. and they came down hard. what they did, they planned for it. they called in mutual aid, other agencies and wound up seizing 90 of these people's vehicles. that's the way you handle it. did you go in with a strong law

enforcement response. san diego, same thing. seized a bunch of the vehicles. they are not giving them back excepted by court order. when you hit these people where it hurts. you put them in jail. they face consequences, and that's the problem, laura. no consequences. wowould we have been seeing thi. >> laura: for anything, for anything no consequences. >> exactly. you have prosecutors. i'm sorry, you have district attorneys that simply refuse to prosecute for many violent actions, including these. >> well, i say this a lot. but california, all these places where this is happening these cities, save yourself. time to save yourself. all of them. happening all over the country. randy, thank you. kamala hits the campaign trail and these are her words of the day. why is the pope hosting his own comedy show.
