4:00 am
thursday, june 13th. this is fox and friends, i hope you are dressed. overnight. full palestinian protesters barricading themselves in a cal state los angeles billing and completely trashed the place with school staff trapped inside
4:01 am
today lawmakers are putting the spotlight back on this crazy anti-semitism we are seeing all across the country. >> steve: all across the country. a fox news alert. the inspector general found that screening process of migrants at our southern border is not working. hello, we knew that this before we learned that 8 suspected terrorists crossed our border. >> ainsley: and are you having trouble paying your bills in should explain it the cost of homes, rent, energy and cars all up. wait until you see the numbers. the second hour of "fox & friends" starts right now. and, remember, you might not be able to pay your bills, but mornings are better with friends we start with a fox news alert. president biden is meeting with leaders on day one of the g 7
4:02 am
summit in italy. >> brian: this afternoon the president will hold a rare press conference with ukrainian president zelenskyy and answer questions for the first time since his son hunter's conviction. peter doocy is live at the white house. >> peter: biden's lengthy press conference will be rare and it will be short because -- so it's entirely possible that hunter biden's conviction issues don't even come up. the white house has not yet confirmed to us what the format is going to be. but, generally, it would stand to reason that two american reporters will get questions and two ukrainian reporters will get questions. and then the two will make a very, very, very quick exit. because staffers want to keep these things overseas as scripted as possible. and, here's why the hunter stuff may not come up abroad. white house officials would much rather talk about cease-fire talks in gaza. russia's war on ukraine, trade imbalances with china. ai threats. and then developmental issues in africa according to the list that they gave us. but the hunter stuff does come
4:03 am
up, president biden has a chance to clarify a key point of confusion. he and his team have long been to say hunter biden will not be pardoned; however, dodging questions as recently as the air force one trip to italy about whether or not hunter's sentence will wind up being commuted. if that wasn't going to happen, they could just say so like they did with the pardon. it appears this could be a loophole through the no pardon promise. hunter himself not traveling outside the country as he awaits sentencing, but it appears all of his adult children made the trip to italy with grandpa. white house officials will not confirm which biden members are on what is considered an official trip. brian, back to you. >> brian: peter, do you know why the president didn't go to the dinner last night? >> peter: no, they told us not to read too much into it but this is a person, especially in an election year who bills himself as a statesman and as somebody who can get a lot of things done because he has such great skills dealing with other people at the leader level i
4:04 am
would note it's probably because they like to have him down as much as possible the first day he goes anywhere overseas and that has just proven -- that has just born out with trip after trip after trip abroad, including last week in france. we got there a day early. we were ready go and then at like 10:00 in the morning local time he just went right to his hotel. >> steve: that's just crazy. about an hour and a half ago, we saw him at the family photo, and he looked owe- ---he was moving a little carefully he looked a little pooped. >> ainsley: he wasn't sure where to go. >> peter: i think we have the video of that. >> steve: peter, when this g-7 concludes, is he going to be flying back. there is a hollywood fundraiser a mysterious stop in the washington, d.c. area for just two hours, right? do we have any idea what that is. >> steve: they have to refuel somewhere. when you look at this video.
4:05 am
they -- the president seems like he is, as staff probably instructs him just -- we're going to take a picture and then get out of there as quickly as possible. but he is not just looking for his own staff. they have got the staffers of the leaders of the seven largest economies so he is looking out there. probably seeing people pointing in a bunch of different directions and it looks like he did -- there was a little road block there the italian prime minister, but he got out of there and within the next hour or so we think we are going to see them in a working meeting steve do you think he was looking for the easter bunny for stage direction. >> peter: google, what's italian for easty bunny. >> lawrence: looked like they shifted prime minister. >> ainsley: prime minister of italy introducing herself to all the world leaders. posting it. they all would walk up individually sign the book and then when it our president's time to meet her, then go sign the book. he kind of turned around and wasn't sure where to go. he went back up on the stage
4:06 am
with her. and then they sent out all the other world leaders. i'm wondering, peter, maybe you know, were they all planning to come out after our president arrived or did they all just come out to save him from being humiliated? >> lawrence: they were all in that holding room? >> peter: no waiting though. >> steve: it's hard to stage managed from the white house when they are on the world stage and there are seven other leaders there as well. why be press conference small u.s. delegation and small ukrainian delegation. they had the exit, the little carpet for them to exit was so short and so even if somebody shouted a really short loud, quick question that is just a "yes" or "no." by the time it's out, they are long gone the white house now a couple hours before, the white house already knows who they are going to call on for the president. they already got it on a card
4:07 am
for him who is he going to call on. >> brian: you and who else? >> peter: i'm going to be in the sky seats. >> lawrence: is that the standard procedure now when it comes to the white house that reporters are given questions on advance? it looks like the questions are on the sheet and the answer is on the sheet as well. are you guys being told like what is happening? to the best of my knowledge not given questions. white house will sit around for days based on what they are conks who is going to ask something favorable to them. probably think hog is going to ask about this -- some trade policy issue or who is going to ask about something with this ukrainian security agreement they hope to sign at some point. anybody that might ask about hunter and his convictions probably low on the list. >> steve: probably right.
4:08 am
>> lawrence: thanks, peter. >> ainsley: thanks, peter. he is saying he won't get a question. >> steve: he is also out of town. then again he never gets a question. he just has to yell. that's why he knows if the president is going to exit that way which way is the carpet. >> brian: joining heinrich will be over there. >> ainsley: has he always been a yeller? >> steve: he has always been very loud. no doubt about it. i wonder if the politico reporter is going to get a question. politico came out with an item that we spotted this morning essentially said joe biden feels bad that hunter biden got convicted. the quote is joe said if i weren't running for re-election he, hunter, would have gotten the plea deal. >> steve: what he forgets is hunter's lawyers made the deal imper throughout and the judge said what the heck is that? >> lawrence: never seen that before. also, guys, when you look at the
4:09 am
president. every time i'm out in diner, they always ask me, hey, is steve real? is ainsley real? is brian real? >> brian: what do you say? >> lawrence: are they who they say they are? the president publicly has been acting like oh, i accept the verdict. you know, there is nothing political about it. >> brian: the rule of law. >> lawrence: the rule of law. the press conference and cnn have said this is a nice guy. you see him accepting the verdict. but behind the scenes he is ramming at it saying if it wasn't an election, he would have gotten this deal. this is unfair to my son. is he not being truthful with the american public. >> ainsley: criticized donald trump for saying he is being treated unfairly but they are saying the same thing behind closed doors. >> lawrence: exactly right. >> brian: to add to that the president doesn't take questions and the issues are hot for people to give their perspectives so the president is going to ask questions. at the very least you hope he briefs his press secretary. she never knows anything about
4:10 am
anything. she never talks to anybody before she goes out there. tony snow, one of the first things he said one requirement of george w. bush i have to be in these meetings. if i'm not in the meetings people ask me questions i don't expect, i will know the answer because i have been there and i will know not what to say. either she is not invited to the meetings intentionally or unintentionally. she never has an answer, listen. >> you are not really [inaudible] >> what i'm saying is -- i have not spoken to the president about this. what i'm saying is he was asked about a pardon. i don't have anything beyond what the president said. >> lawrence: not acceptable. >> steve: it could be plausible didn't. shedeniability. >> ainsley: i was wrong. >> lawrence: i don't think the answer is acceptable for multiple reasons. they know there's a clear difference between commuting the sentence as well as pardoning. they are trying to leave some
4:11 am
ambiguity for people that don't know the difference to say okay, the president is already came. he did that interview over the weekend and said there's no pardon. but, keeping the door open to commute the sentence. >> brian: right. but she never has an answer to anything. she never says i just spoke to the president. >> this is where we are going to be going right now. ukraine 10-year deal. here is what is in it. big issue that was of the discussion that the allies wouldn't agree with that we agree with when it comes to the cease-fire deal. what hamas is letting us down x, y, and z way. we are doing the best. the president thinks it's his best interest in order to back israel. at the same time we wants peace throughout the region. my head would be explode if i had to sit in that press briefing. >> lawrence: brian to your point doesn't know the answer not in the meeting. kirby gives the same type of briefing and he has the answers to it. >> steve: he gives a lot of answers. >> lawrence: i think there is a competency question. you may not have liked jen psaki
4:12 am
but at least she gave you an answer. you may not like kirby. >> brian: i feel like she was in the meetings. >> lawrence: she is, too. >> brian: i don't know. >> lawrence: white house press secretary. >> ainsley: now the catchphrase is. >> steve: we don't have anything on that. she is not doing the president any favors. kirby does a good job and jen psaki was great. and, you know, she got in to it with a very tall boy in the front row a lot during that time. but we do know, regarding the larger topic about would the president pardon his son, we all know. >> brian: going to do it. >> steve: joe biden loses, that's the first thing. >> brian: even if he wins. >> lawrence: that's right. >> brian: because he got four more years. what does he have to lose? he can't run again. >> ainsley: pardons donald trump and his son. >> steve: that would be quite a gesture. joe biden cannot pardon donald trump because it's a state trial. the person who can pardon donald
4:13 am
trump. ainsley: alvin bragg? >> steve: no, no, no. it's the governor. >> brian: kathy hochul. she is getting right on it. i'm sure could be happening any minute now. we will cover that live and break into a commercial. even if it's spelled wrong. >> lawrence: fox news alert. a mob of anti-israeli protesters cashed cal state los angeles overnight after barricading staffers inside that's kidnapping inside a student service building. >> steve: i wonder if they are going to be charged. there is a lot of outrage here in new york city after anti-semitic protesters targeted the homes of a museum's board members and director as well. look at that. >> ainsley: chanley painter joins us with the latest. >> good morning to you. let's start in los angeles where for weeks a peaceful gaza solg day or two encampment suddenly turned up the heat at cal state up to 100 pro-palestinian protesters duke over the student services building, vandalizing windows, blocks exits, stranding administrators and employees,
4:14 am
including the university president, reportedly, for hours while police staked out nearby. staff members though are now safe and sound. here in new york, anti-israel protests also rage on on monday mass protesters who rallied at union square park in manhattan long live october 7th were filmed taking over a subway car. watch this. >> raise your hands if you are a zionist. >> raise your hands if you are a zionist. >> this is your chance to get out. >> this is your chance to get out. >> okay. no zionists, we are good. [cheers] >> then yesterday anti-semitic protesters hurled red paints defacing the homes of director and board members less than two weeks after a pro-palestinian organization urged demonstrators to flood brooklyn museum for gaza. the disturbing trend and demonstrations against the war in gaza was discussed earlier by our colleague benjamin hall.
4:15 am
>> as a final point how anti-semitism is transferring into anti-americanism. and alongside those burning israeli flags we so often see burns american flags as well so a real concern about the direction that it's going. >> as these anti-israel protest continue across the nation, a planned committee hearing in the house on anti-semitism and vandalism at colleges and universities is taking place later this morning. guys? >> steve: they need some answers. all right. thank you very much. the cover of the "new york post" this morning, "don't let hate hide." it makes a really good point. how many times, particularly when we were covering it live and, lawrence, you were even up at columbia university. how many of the people behind those masks were actually students? and so what apparently there was a law in new york city where you could not wear a mask in public. and then coronavirus came along and that went away. now,. >> brian: kkk, right? >> steve: that, too. now what they are suggesting is
4:16 am
let's go back it you can't wear a mask because you could be in the commission of a crime or a disturbance and we need to know who you are. >> lawrence: that's why some of them who have no ties, okay, are wearing the keffiyehs, say they have religious protection with this even though they don't subscribe to the religion. none of these people are being prosecuted. we just reported from chanley of a kidnapping, essentially that just happened. and there is zero punishment for it. these people, just imagine if these people were from the right and screaming hateful things. everybody would be called to condemn them. they are allowed to spew hateful things against jew and anti-american sentiment. >> brian: he said this is not peaceful. this is not free speech. it's crime and overt. unacceptable. i think what is going to happen is we have to start arresting these people and saying that when you call for jihad, when you call out -- when you call out that you want to kill the jews and hitler was right and all those things, that is hate
4:17 am
speech. you should be able to arrest these people. steve, that will do us 15 days in jail for wearing a mask. that should do it. who paid you? what is your background? let's get your parents out here. do you know how much they are getting paid each day? >> lawrence: look at the branch records. >> ainsley: juice jewish leaders asking for this to be reinstated we did away with this law during covid. now being reinstated i need to know who is in my face. if you are brave enough to go out there and spray paint, then take your mask off. let's see how are. >> steve: right. ainsley, how many times have we seen these smash and grabs at various retail places across the country, coast to coast, how often are they wearing masks? most of the time. >> ainsley: even the retail stores in california when they were stealing pocketbooks and jewelry. >> steve: they would wear hoodies. >> ainsley: wear hoodies and covered with masks. >> lawrence: somebody has to explain to me how these people can kidnap people. j 6ers in solitary confinement.
4:18 am
why can they kidnap people and barricade. >> brian: and cal state lawrence and not be accountable for it. >> brian: leave the apartment ins. aparencampments.rose up took ovg and people on the floor. at least the summer is coming and no students on campus. but now these other people are just taking over subways. they were harassing that octoben new york city. and that's where they were screaming hitler should finish the job. and in our country. if you heard that once every five years you thought "the washington post" thing i ever heard. now i'm getting worried we are getting used to. >> lawrence: yeah. >> steve: ultimately this comes down to this. covid is over. you don't need the mask official if you are outside. >> lawrence: also they are not covid masks. >> steve: that's the excuse. let's hope new york city does the right thing and gets rid of the mask rule. >> brian: anybody pro-hamas you need to be arrested and

>> steve: a fox news alert. an inspector general at the department of homeland security has found that the screening process of migrants at our southern border is, quote, inadequate. it's not working. this, of course, just before we learned 8 suspected terrorists crossed our border illegally. here with reaction senator tom cotton. senator, good morning to you the inspector general general said certainly the people down on our southern border. border patrol does not have access to all the federal data to fully vet people. it sounds like the federal government is not sharing the information with the people on the front lines who need the information. >> yeah, steve, this report confirms what we have long known that joe biden's border disaster is a terrible threat to the lives of the american people. it's not just that millions of migrants come here to take jobs
4:29 am
from americans are clog up our hospitals and schools. tastes. we should expect government systems don't always work well together, of course there is nothing to that in many of these countries because they barely have governments. that's why we should not open our border the way joe biden has done for four years. we didn't have terrorists crossing our border for four years under donald trump because we secured our border. we destroyed isis, and we were tough on terrorism all around the world. but, right now, this is in effect a ticking time bomb that a border is wide open and terrorists from all around the world could come here and plot attacks against the american people. one more reason why we have to return donald trump to the white house. >> steve: well, here's the thing. they might not, you know, we're talking about people, 400,000 people who are already in the country. apparently the government has not conducted complete checks on asylum seekers who came here as early as 2017. they have been living here for, what's that -- that's like seven
4:30 am
years. >> yeah, that's right, steve, it's not just that we are allowing people to cross our border from who knows where who could have ties to terrorists. it's that once these people get into the country, many of whom have registered with joe biden's administration to get asylum status, to get protected status under american law as the government processes those applications, they are still not going back and checking government databases. they are not updating that information since those people crossed years ago. so we could have potential terrorists living among our midst and being awarded protected status under federal law. joe biden's wide open border and his immigration policy is a danger to the american people. >> steve: while this is happening joe biden is overseas at the g-7. looks like a little out of gas. he doesn't seem to know which direction is he supposed to go on the stage. there was some hesitancy.
4:31 am
what do you make he is going to make of today. meet zelenskyy and talking about more stuff for them. >> well, steve, let's just call a spade a spade. i mean, we all saw joe biden arrive this morning in italy. it's embarrassing. and it's harmful to america's interest. when world leaders see a president who is infirm and weak, shuffling around the stage, not knowing where he is supposed to go. >> we saw d-day try to sit down in chairs that aren't even there and shuffling off the stage they know they can fake advantage. not just add adversaries. donald trump president g 7 meetings and nato meetings may not have been tea and crumpets, but that was because our friends knew that donald trump was serious. and he meant business. and he was going to put america's interests first. and he expected them to contributed to our common defense. even our allies know that joe biden is a pushover. and he prefers going along to getting along. even if it's not good for the
