[applause] >> i've said it before and i'll say it again today, i'll work with anyone to solve these problems. >> the president's border policy is coming under more scrutiny this week after a suspect was arrested in the death of rachel moran. he entered the u.s. illegally february of last year. >> they released a statement. we extend our condolences and fundamentally people should be held accountable to the fullest extent of the law. the biden administration has not mentioned if they plan to reach out to morin's family. >> the president will be prepping for the debate, on the grounds of the white house, they can say whatever they want

regarding the border and their policies, american people may look at it in a different light. when it comes to the head to head match-up, the polling shows the president is two points ahead. is there any sense that they're worried about the issue when he has to face off with donald trump and go toe to toe and take accountability for what's happened here? >> i think privately the president and his aides are concerned about how voters may perceive him on the issue of immigration. publicly, they have projected confidence. you've heard the campaign, you've heard president biden say that they're doing all that they can on the border, case in point, again, that executive order restricting asylum in the order. and that he issued for the migrant spouses of u.s. citizens, but we expect him again, we expect this to be a big issue coming up this thursday. >> thank you, madeline, thank you so much. and the border is front and center as a string of criminal

cases of migrants continue to develop. nate foy has more from houston. hi, nate. >> hey, yeah, this houston community is very much still briefing with hundreds attending a vigil for the 12-year-old jocelyn, she was murdered and body found in the creek across the street and police say two illegal migrants from venezuela are responsible for her murder. take a look at the video that jocelyn's family showed up and spoke up, as did the mayor of houston who says he's going to keep a close eye on the criminal justice system in this case. listen to this. >> we're going to see that these criminals are held accountable. and what we need to do is send word tonight, don't even think about it, if you're thinking about harming one of our young ba

babies. >> so the two capital murder suspects remain in jail today. prosecutors requested a one million dollar bond each for 26-year-old franklin pena, and 22-year-old martinez. but if a sexual assault occurred it could be prosecuted differently and prosecutors wrote in court documents, if this case the defendant lured a 12-year-old codefendant under the bridge, remained for two hours, took her pants off, tied her up and killed her and threw her body in the bayou. and in el paso, they were arrested and released both men. martinez in march and pena late may three weeks before jocelyn's murder. they gave both migrants a notice to appear in court. the same thing happened with the ecuadorian migrant accused of raping a 13-year-old girl in new york. he was caught at eagle pass, texas in june of 2021 and

released with a future court date. and live, new numbers released by border patrol, agents report in the month of may, just shy of 118,000 illegal crossings at the southern border, that's actually 9% down from the month of april. we'll send it back to you. >> it's getting hot which could be why we see some of the shift in the pattern, nate. but i want to ask you this because you hear the details about this particular case where you are. i was reading the details about the little girl in queens that was raped as well. rachel morin, laken riley, the list goes on and on and people across the border committing heinous crimes here and literally shaking up communities. what was the reaction on the ground there from people that you talked to? i mean, at least here in new york there's a lot of anger. >> well, it's the same thing that you're seeing in new york from the people on the ground, from lawmakers, senator ted cruz calling for the death penalty against these two

suspects or defendants, which could still happen. right now, it's sort of unclear. it depends on the evidence that is found and how prosecutors decide to move forward with this case, but it is a capital murder charge. people are disgusted, this is a 12-year-old girl who, you know, ran into these guys at a convenience store, and according to police, and then they took her to this bayou behind me and according to police killed her then. of course, they'll have their day in court, but people here are absolutely outraged. >> you've done a fantastic job reporting on this, as have so many other fox news reporters down at the border every single day. we've covered this story and nothing has really changed since that executive order per se, either. a lot of people are wondering, you know, what the president is thinking. this is, you know, a huge issue for people toe to toe with the economy as well. it's something that people are very worried about, their safety in communities. one of our guests earlier was saying, for example, that it's women who are the swing voters

potentially in this election. when they hear stories like this about young children, it really just takes it to a new level with respect to how you might want to vote in the next election. >> yeah, it absolutely does. if you don't have safety. if you don't feel comfortable going outside your home then you don't really have anything. everything else at that point sort of becomes a luxury. you know, when you see people who are committing crimes or at least accused of committing crimes who are in our country illegally, a lot of people feel this was a crime and that it could have been prevented that this is a 12-year-old girl who is no longer here and that if we enforced proper immigration law that she'd still be here today. so voters had certainly be keeping that and other issues in mind as the election approaches. >> nate foy, thank you so much. appreciate it. >> you've got it. >> texas congressman dan crenshaw has been calling for stricter border security and

he's on the combat mexican cartel task force. congressman, thank you for joining us. talking about the staggering number of cases in different parts of the country where people are falling victim to criminals that have come across our southern border illegally, they've got rap sheets and yet, the white house will issue some sort of statement saying that it's sorry to the members of the family, but essentially they've opened the door to allow this to happen. >> they have blood on their hands, pure and simple. one too many, but it's much moron that one, of course, and you know what's even more infuriating a lot of democrats will defend this and say it's such a small percentage that cross that do this. it becomes a smaller and smaller percentage because you keep allowing more and more people to cross. again, one is too much and then they're doing these half

measures and doing half measures that, you know, to stem the flow of illegal immigration. why? because it's election system and realize it's a bad campaign issue for them. no way that president biden is going to escape this politically. he can try and pin it on republicans because the deal fell apart, he can say he inherited a bad system from trump. nobody believes that. everybody knows at the end of trump's presidency, we had it under control, and a deal with mexico, and he had it in his power to make it work and biden reversed that. and it's a disaster the last years. and mexico has implemented a ton of restrictions in their own country, they have basically-- they keep recycling people back to the southern part of mexico until they give up. so the mexicans are doing their part, actually, but the biden administration continue to just message politically. it's sad and getting people killed. >> well, the thing is, the fact that the president has made

this about-face, or at least he's trying to make it appear that way to the american voter, if he really wanted to do something about the issue, congressman, he would have done it sooner. >> exactly. he would have done it sooner. the alarm bells were going off a long time ago. his own democrat mayors and governors were sounding the alarm, at least a year or two ago. it's too late at this point. everybody knows election season politics. and again, it's not enough. if you actually really sealed the border and those numbers went from 180,000, they're touting these 180,000 numbers like they're a big deal because it's down to 300,000, get it to 20,000 and i'll clap my hands for you, credit where credit is due. i don't care who solves it, i just want it to be solved. if you solve it, i'll give you credit, but you're not doing it. >> outlets including the new

york post writing about how there is an effort to essentially mobilize to make sure that the people who are crossing in will be given an opportunity to vote, even though that is illegal as well, but you know, many states are not checking voter i.d. so, people can register and they can vote in the election and some would say well, that's what this was all about. >> yeah, sometimes it is. i mean, there's a bunch of reasons. i think the left just doesn't care about illegal immigration. one potentially cynical reason is politically they believe in the long run they're going to have more voters out there on the streets than we will. i actually think they're wrong about that, but another reason is look, they just don't care. you have to understand how the leftist thinks. they don't necessarily care about protecting one's land, protecting one's border. they believe in this kind of oversize sense of compassion, people need help so we have to let them in. that's not actually compassionate at all. it's not compassionate to

people who try to do it the legal way, who wait in line. as i always say, there's an infinite number of people that want to get in the united states of america. you have to have some kind of process and line that allows them in. it doesn't make anyone happy because the line is long. if you allow them to cut the line, that's a degradation of the law of legal immigrants. >> and it's also not compassionate to the families a we have been talking about, murdered and assaulted in this country by people who cross illegally. but i want your take on this, president biden has a new plan to crack down on fentanyl traffickers which i know is a huge concern of yours. neil cavuto asked treasury secretary janet yellen about that earlier this week and here is part of that exchange. >> we would have sanctions on eight individuals who are part

of one of the most vicious mexican drug cartels responsible for trafficking fentanyl into the united states and we're -- we intend through these actions to try to cut them off to make their business very difficult or impossible by cutting them off from the u.s. financial system in the dollar. neil: why wasn't this done sooner? it seems like a pretty good idea, why not sooner? >> well, we've been working jointly with our law enforcement colleagues and also productively with the government of mexico to amass the information necessary to bring these actions forward and our work with mexico has intensified over the last several years. we've had very good cooperation with mexico. >> congressman, your reaction

to that? >> that's actually about right. so, neil asked the right question, why didn't you do it sooner? i'm sure the cartel is something i've researched every day and talking to treasury agents to figure out how do you follow the money? it's hard to follow. the way they do the money laundering, the money never leaves the border and the mexican government doesn't cooperate, but the current president has never been a friend of the united states. very, very difficult to deal with. and one thing in cartel task force, you need a lot more analysts to build cases to create the sanctions and that's about accurate what she's saying. >> congressman, thank you so much for being here. >> thanks. >> all right. two big named progressive stumping in new york city today trying to save a member of the

bowman's. >> i don't give israel a blank check. i don't say whatever they want to do is right, but i'm realistic, if there's a path for peace, you have to have israel and the arab world at the table and they have to negotiate this out. >> early voting began last sunday and runs through tomorrow. >> the bronx is quite the hot spot. cb cotton, thank you so much. all right, now to this. in arkansas where a suspect is behind bars and facing murder charges this morning after police say he opened fire at a grocery store in the town of fordyce on friday, about 65 miles south of little rock. sadly, three people were killed and 11 more wounded. we're told two of the injured were law enforcement officers who were exchanging gunfire with the shooter. reports say panicked shoppers ran for cover when the shots rang out and some people even hid in a freezer. police are investigating what the motive was. we'll bring you any new developments as they happen.

try and gain some support. what's he going to talk about? well, the economy, the border and crime here in philadelphia. this comes as we're taking a look at new polls. take a look at the screen, too. it's part of the swing state tour. he's hitting michigan, wisconsin, georgia and today, pennsylvania there. these are states the former president won back in 2016, but lost in 2020, right? so recent polling shows trump's now doing well in those states this time around, gaining support with young and non-white voters as you see here on your screen who say they're upset biden's handling of the economy is a big issue and also with gaza. we want to pull up the latest fox news poll now that shows 32% of voters say the economy is in excellent or good shape, that's the highest during biden's presidency, but still overall sentiment seems to be negative. so we're now just days away from the first presidential debate. right now, president biden is out preparing at camp david. while former president trump is

on the campaign trail appearing at an event in d.c. and then coming here to philadelphia. so a busy day for him. he was in court for quite a while and trying to make up lost time. both candidates will stay in the south and biden will stay in south carolina where he lost to trump in 2020 and two decades in virginia, since a republican carried the race for the white house. trump's team is investing heavily in virginia. and glenn youngkin is on a short list. and we'll see what happens later tonight. >> busy day, alexis mcadams, thank you. of course, voters are weighing options. according to a new fox poll, 15% of voters say they would vote third party or they're still undecided. what do they need to hear from each candidate next week to help them make up their minds?

joining me now it would undecided voters from key states. wisconsin voter, kaitlin singleton and georgia voter, bernadette wright. thank you both for being here. i'm going to go ahead and start with you. as alexis points out you're both in swing states and you're both women. these are demographics that president biden needs to continue to win over and president trump wants to get some of you on his side to win. he lost them in 2016 -- i'm sorry, he won them in 2016 and lost them the next team around. what is the top issue and what do you want to hear from either of the candidates next week that will help you make a decision? >> thank you. >> my top issue is absolutely the economy. i know that the numbers seem to say that everything is fine, but personally, we're feeling it. our friends are feeling it. people in our church are feeling it. i want someone to get up there and act like the president, stand tall like the president, talk like the president and give us an idea what their

actual plan is. i think i'm tired of the sound bites. i'm tired of the bickering. i want someone to say we're going to take care of the business of america and we're going to balance the books in a way that doesn't, you know, that doesn't kind of take advantage of those who are working hard and take advantage of the people who own businesses in order to give it away. whether it's to another country or whether it's to people who didn't come here legally or whether it's to some idea that we don't believe in. i'm looking to see the heart of the presidents or potential presidents or former presidents or future today. who they are and what they're going to do. >> kaitlin, bernadette brings up the economy and the border basically the two topics now. we've had a different situation, two presidents who have a track record, right? you saw what president trump did on both of these issues and now we're living through how president biden has handled them. you know, does what either one of them really says in the

debate matter that much to you about the plan forward or look the at track record and think about how your life was at one moment in time and it was better then or better now and that's going to help me decide? >> yeah, you know, i will be listening to the debate for key issues, but really, we've been able to live through a trump presidency and a biden presidency and at this point my life was better raising three kids, my dollar stretched further when trump was president and so, i'm highly leaning toward, 99.9 sure that that-- i will be voting with trump just comparing both of the presidencies and how our life was. >> we're all going to be watching closely. bernadette, back to you. many say when it comes to women, the key issue is abortion. how does that factor into your decision? >> it only factors into my decision to the extent that it

affects whether states have the right to make decisions for their residents. to be honest with you, it's not my top issue. my top issue is the economy. it's nothing that's going to make me afraid. like watching all of these commercials talking the stuff they're doing to women, it's not realistic to the country that we live in. i don't want to be a fear mongered. it's not a factor to me. >> kaitlin, we've been talking about the border and heinous crimes across the country and how they impacted people. two policies, very clear here. your thoughts. >> sure, i will be paying attention to national security, border security and even other international threats like gaza and israel response and who will be stronger and protect our country. >> so appreciate both of you for coming on this morning. really nice to see you. >> thank you. >> all right, foreign policy weighing on voter's minds as well and russian president

ukraine is targeting oil. and they're planned shipments to other allied nations, they wouldn't say how many would be effected and ukraine urgently needs those capabilities. this agreement is also a sign of russia's desperation. they're reaching out to north korea for missiles, reaching-- they're getting drones from iran. they don't have a lot of friends in the world and they're trying to do everything they can to pull on the strings of the friends that they do have. russia is absolutely isolated on the world stage and force today rely on countries like north korea and iran. >> and meanwhile, russian president vladimir putin met with north korean leader kim jong-un and signed an agreement pledging the two countries will help each other out in the event of aggression and cements the blossoming partnership that

worries the west. it could see moscow assisting pyongyang with conflicts and north korea is accused of supplying weapons and putin would give space aid in concern that could aid with their program. and considering arm ukraine, but putin warns that would be a big mistake. >> stephanie bennett in london for us. thank you so much. here now with reaction, former cia chief of station in moscow and fox news contributor, dan hoffman. dan, it's always great to have you on the program. these two men hadn't met for many years and i believe now this is two meetings in nine months. you have to sit back and wonder why they're seizing on this particular moment in time. i wonder what you think it is? >> yeah, i think it's a striking visual there of vladimir putin travelling to pyongyang and joining this

select group of nuclear-armed, rogue pariah states and flaunting a military alliance with north korea. he's doing that openly and so brazenly because he's trying to extort the west, particularly the united states, to induce us not to give ukraine the weapons that they need. now, we've done that, but we've been too slow to do it and also to deny ukraine the authority to strike targets inside russia, i think that's where vladimir putin is aiming here. >> the latest news overnight with the attack on the energy system in ukraine, you know, those weapons are really important, but you also sort of sit back and look at the bigger picture, this is a war if we armed ukraine they were supposed to win rather swiftly. they haven't. what do you think the next steps are from here? it's been more than two years. >> well, i think it's been a failed war for russia. they've suffered hundreds of thousands of casualties, a brain drain over a million russians have left the country.

finland and sweden are now n.a.t.o. members and thanks to ukraine's stallwart defense, europe has awakened from their post-cold war slumber. the only thing that putin has had, threatening to use tactical nuclear welcomes or worse and induced the biden administration not to give ukraine what they needed when they needed it, long range artillery, air defense, f-16s which haven't arrived and tanks. had ukraine had those things, perhaps they might have launched an effective counter offensive last summer, but they didn't. they're still in the fight and thwarted the attack. the fight goes on. putin could stop it today and stop raining down hell on ukrainian innocents, and indiscriminate russian mun munitions if he chose to, but he has not. the only way to induce him to sue for peace is for ukraine to

continue to fight back. >> one way that the u.s. could tie his hands, it's oil prices right now where they are, around $80 a barrel that are helping fund the war. he takes the oil, dumps it on the black market, china is his big buyer there now we see another strategic alliance that's helping him move forward. if we somehow crippled his bank account and that would definitely help speed up this process, correct? >> that's exactly right. it's a very strong point you make and at the outset of the war, president biden, the administration said they would turn the russian ruble into rubble. that the sanctions that we would impose have a really significant impact on russia's economy. yeah, russia is suffering a bit and don't have the consumer goods they once had, inflation is rampant there and more so than in our own country. but still, thanks to china, iran, north korea, putin has been able to keep russia and

hydrocarbons, we're not doing that. and i think we're concerned about the rise in oil prices. >> and benjamin netanyahu accused the united states of withholding weapons and ammunition over the past months and the white house denied the claim. i wonder what you make of the growing rift between the u.s. and israel and the same story with ukraine. if you don't get your ally the goods they need fast enough it makes the job harder. >> yeah, the openness of this rift is disconcerting to me. there's a disconnect there between the united states and israel about the war in gaza. not taking the fight so much to hamas. i think both of us agree that we need to do that. it's the day after. how does this all end and what do we see for gaza after hamas is defeated? prime minister netanyahu and the biden administration have

not been able to agree on that and i think that's the challenge that we face going forward. >> do you think in some ways, because israel is an ally, the president shouldn't be so critical of netanyahu's strategy and just say, listen, as you've said, tackle hamas and then we'll sort the rest out later, in some ways, growing on that post-solution now is kind of holding up this whole process? >> well, i could tell you from the time that i served in iraq, and i served as the cia, as director of the cia's near east division, responsible for middle east and north africa, if there's one lesson we learned, it's that you've got to have a post war reconstruction plan ready to go when you launch your attack. we didn't have that in iraq and that's the point that president biden and his lead security, national security officials have made to israel that you've got to do that. if you want to drive a wedge between palestinians and hamas and the palestinian islamic

he's making headlines. your thoughts. >> well, thank you for having me. i think that any press is good press now days and he can either utilize this and have some humility, which i think he's doing. you know, he had a tour stop in chicago last night and he addressed this and he basically said to fans, we've been together through our ups and downs and it's been a really tough week, but you're here, i'm here, and then he added, i know i'm hard to love sometimes, but you keep on loving me back. i think if he plays his cards right, he can really utilize this because i didn't even know he was on tour. [laughter] >> i mean, i totally forget about his tour and there have been so many people that came back from even martha stewart who came back and is, you know, right back where she started before she went to jail. >> that's true.

we just had the mug shot up. a lot of people were looking for that to be published to see what he would look like and also some details from the incident that night. apparently he had a vesper, a very strong james bond kind of drink that he downed before he got in the car. i'm not minimizing dwi, it's not acceptable because people can be really badly hurt if not killed in a worse case scenario. having said that he was picked up and booked and he's touring again. so some say, you know, life will continue as it has for many others that he won't serve any jail time and probably pay a fine. >> yeah, same thing happened to bruce springsteen. he had a bottle of tequila on a motorcycle and the same thing happen. i think you're right. you know, he has two kids, a 9-year-old son and he should be a role model. i think his pr team needs to

tell him to address that, you know, tonight as he performs in chicago. we'll see what happens when he makes stops in new york. this will be a great opportunity for him to have some humility and like you said, address that this is a serious charge. >> can we talk about the business aspect of the tour right now? i've been reading that some of these tours haven't been as successful as taylor swift, still hitting it out of the park. tickets are so defensive, they have to typically choose between the artists that they want to see. i always think of justin timberlake as a huge, smash success. is this tour doing well? >> no, it's not doing well. as you mentioned, in an earlier segment, it's because of inflation. people are putting aside their entertainment because they know that they have to curb something in their spending and entertainment is the first to go. concerts are not doing well.
