matthew morrison spent months to remodel their house. another said great friend father husband. like you said the substation commander called him one of the best deputies and detectives i have worked with it was reported he was a father of three. he is a father of four. his wife is pregnant right now. this should be the happiest time in their lives. now it's the saddest. how is his family handling his loss in dealing with this absolute tragedy? >> yeah. i mean, she, like everyone in the family is just crushed. because he was such a large figure. i think sometimes when you lose someone that is this impactful and larger than life, it makes a bigger crater if you will. what we are trying to do is do everything we can to help the family, support the family, take out some of the financial bumps and edges that they're going to be facing. we'll never fill that hole. no one will be able to do it.

we are going to try to help them on things we can help and be there for them. >> carley: being a police officer comes with risk. always a dangerous job. right now it feels like it's never been more dangerous, sheriff. >> 100 percent. in the last couple years, very high number line of duty deaths and huge spike in am bushes like we saw here. so that's one thing very much around on the forefront all that pressure if you will. the stress they are under. and the things they are facing officer suicides have spiked and actually outstrips the number of line of duty deaths so we are trying to support our people. >> carley: we are thinking about the whole rec ling family, there is a go fund me to donate. well needed
