because it has been a big hour with "the new york times" reported that president biden has spoken to a key ally about possibly dropping out of the rates although saying he's still in the fight news breakint by moment the white house denying it will bring it this morning i'll be guest hosting for laura ingraham the governors going to the white house but democratic governors going to the white house, are they there to assess the damage? or are they there to support the president? we will bring you the answers tonight. over to "america reports." >> cheap fakes, misinformation, disinformation, do you have any regret over using that language? >> not at all.
10:01 am
>> is a the governors just want a direct and candid conversation with the president. we want to make sure he is doing okay. >> independent mainstream fact-checkers in the press and misinformation experts have been calling out cheap fakes. at the end of the day they are fakes. >> there is an unhealthy conversation that will happen with the president. i hope he'll be expressing what he intends to go forward with in the campaign and they are reassuring everybody that this is the right course. >> we are not taking away from what you all saw or what the american people saw. we understand it was a bad night. >> i want joe biden to forcefully make it but i want to ensure anybody at the top of the ticket they are equipped to make it. >> boy, oh, boy, the white house in full on damage control at this hour as we expect a briefing within on the moment now a stunning "new york times" report claiming president biden told a close ally that he is weighing whether or not to
10:02 am
stay in the 24 presidential race although they white house is denying the claim. i am aishah hasnie welcome to "america reports" hi, bill. >> hey great to be with you i am bill melugin in for john roberts this is "america reports" "the new york times" report comes as president biden is planning to meet with governors today trying to stop this ground of all inside his own party. now reporting more than two dozen house democrats preparing to call for the president to withdraw from the race. >> aishah: we have fox team coverage it starts right now we have mollie hemingway on how biden's inner circle is trying to squash his mental acuity concerns with voters out there. >> bill: but first we will send it to jacqui heinrich live from the white house this afternoon hi, jackie. >> hey, bill good afternoon. a bit more nuanced than really weighing dropping out but the first si acknowledgment this isn
10:03 am
uphill battle. "the new york times" and spoke with an ally that claims he spoke to biden in the last 24 hours and that biden said he still wants to fight but knows who will have a tough time convincing the public he is up for the job if the next couple days don't go well, particularly his interview slated for friday with abc news and some upcoming campaign stops in pennsylvania and wisconsin. referring to the debate, this source told "the new york times" biden "knows if he has two more events like that we are in a different place by the end of the weekend." now that is a departure from the defiant tone we have heard from sources around the president and the immediate aftermath of the debate. you recall the slammed skeptics for bedwetting but the white house did throw cold water on the spokesman andrew bates tweeted the claim is absolutely false if "the new york times" had provided us more than 7 minutes to comment we would
10:04 am
have told them so. the campaign also got on television to tell the same. >> that is false. there are a number of rumors out there the president is in this race to win it he is the democratic nominee. >> and you say it is false the president has had zero conversations with anyone saying i may not be able to continue, i may not be able to win this r race? >> that is correct. the president has been having conversations with a number of democratic leaders. i think what we are sensing from people a sense of urgency if you're from donald trump i think conversations that the president has been having with democrats across the country is want to reassure them. >> now this white house is full of biden loyalists. there are hardly ever any leaks and that has all changed the last couple of days and senior advisors are pessimistic about unrest within the party and "democrats have been mystified that mr. biden has been relying on advice from his son,
10:05 am
hunter biden, who was convicted last month on gun charges stemming from when he was taking crack cocaine rather than from the party's top leaders." the president spoke to hakeem jeffries last night five days after the debate where we can confirm also he spoke to chuck schumer this morning and this afternoon he will be meeting with them credit governors who have requested the meeting saying they just want to get eyes on the president and make sure he is okay. a lot involved here, guys. to you. >> bill: jacqui heinrich live at the white house this afternoon and we will wait for that white house briefing. >> aishah: let's bring in mollie hemingway editor in chief at the federalist and our fox news contributor, molly so much to get to. now the white house is denying, jackie, right of a couple different notes from this but let's put this up for our viewers here this is with "the new york times" wrote they wrote "the conversation resident biden had is the first indication to become public that the president is seriously
10:06 am
considering whether he can recover. "a top advisor also spoke on the condition of anonymity to discuss the situation said the president was "well aware of the political challenge he faces and why wouldn't he be" but the question is not even about the conversation with an ally but we are seeing so many leaks now that are pointing in this direction from the white house. where there is smoke there is fire. >> that's true but i think it's worth remembering we have a collection of people here who are unreliable narrators at best. it is true karine jean-pierre just lied about whether video evidence of "cheap fakes" as she calls them she falsely claimed that was this information and misinformation. at the same time you have "the new york times" doing this old trick of using anonymous sources to push their agenda. we saw this frequently in the previous administration, very rarely with the democrat, but
10:07 am
the situation right now is the only thing that really changed from the debate last week the media posture. democrats and democratic voters in particular are still sticking with the president. it is the media who of lost confidence in their ability to drag president biden over the finish line. you see this, by the way, all the conversation is about whether he should be at the top of the ticket for this coming election. if he is unfit to run for president it is obviously undeniable he is unfit to be president. you are not seeing a lot of me to conversation of what to do if what they are claiming is true and if these unanimous stomach unanimous sources -- >> or what if this happens what happens and then months? >> or six and a half months. >> and later on this evening to some this screams intervention. are they really just checking in on the president to see for themselves? we all saw for ourselves last week where he saw us.
10:08 am
>> if they're going to survive in the biden white house is going to survive this morning they need a lot of advocates that can speak directly to what they are seeing. >> can governors turanire campaign around? >> it will be difficult to do with the situation here. it's worth remembering again both democrat and republican voters have long said they have concerns about mental acuity. so this is something that may be baked into how their border preferences are going but once the media turn on you which is a very difficult situation it's very difficult. >> it's hard to turn it back around. this is what a source told me on the hill he said i've known his family for a long time and they have almost fundamentally by been insecure how they are observed by their peers and obviously they have had this bunker mentality as a result of serving with the obama administration. bring in the family because,
10:09 am
obviously, a lot of families are very us against the world we are all for our family member we will protect him and do the best for him, but with this governors meeting happening tonight is there any one who can break through and pierce this bubble if indeed there is this bubble built around him? >> chloe joe biden relies quite a bit on his wife, dr. jill biden, and his son, hunter biden, but i think again we should think about how the media have by and large protected joe biden from his family drama and trauma from the fighting family business from all the stories about corruption involving hunter biden's contacts with hunter biden's oligarchs and other think he may be a threat in november and all of a sudden they are talking about hunter biden supposedly having a very large role to play in the white house. we know they were lying and covering up for joe biden and the biden family business for years to the point of censorship and disinformation about the facts of that case, why would they be telling the truth now
10:10 am
about hunter biden supposedly playing a large role? or are they just doing this is more of their republican operations? is unclear. >> 30 seconds left there i could talk about this with you all day long this is what the country is talking about this report that's coming out that 25 congressional democrats are about to hit the white house with this big letter asking the president to step aside we've seen two or three come out and public they say that it takes a lot of courage to come out against a sitting president, but is that where the chips begin to fall? is that where the dominoes fall and the white house is not going to be able to defend the president anymore? >> we could see elected democrats more than a couple, prominent democrat saying that it could be a problem but again it is not just that he would have to step down from the ticket, obviously the more important issue would be if he is unfit he is unfit to be
10:11 am
president globally and aggressively so it would have to be the kit and caboodle stepping down from the presidency and the tape. >> which has been a question about since that talk. i will talk to democrat candidate who told biden to step aside so does he think a biden campaign would hurt his and other democrat's chances of winning question what we will ask him ahead. >> bill: as we head into the busy for the july travel airports all around the country are going to be filling up with passengers, always so much fun to deal with, and delays are down from last year a powerful hurricane is threatening trouble as it lures through the caribbean we have fox team coverage for you on this, chief meteorologist rick reichmuth is following that historic storm but first we will send it out to alexis mcadams joining us at the airport how's it looking out there so far? >> hey, bill no major issues at

newark airport yet but as you know from being at the airport all the time going to the border it can change in a matter of seconds especially on a holiday. one thing we've been talking about for months is the issue in the newark airspace where they don't have enough faa workers were twice this week newark had to pause incoming flights to try to catch up. let's look at airports across the country, see they are on your screen right now i don't hair in chicago, dallas, orlando, and houston. this comes as the tsa bill i should say record number of travelers will pass through security checkpoints this year. were of the busiest travel days in the airport this holiday? that would be today and the seventh and 8th of july when people are coming back sunday and monday. travelers say get to the airport early, listen. speaker right now is looking okay so far. i've gotten here earlier with plenty of time but we will see how it goes. if i can check and smoothly i be perfectly happy. >> honestly this is my first time to travel during this
10:13 am
holiday. so i'm taking the risk i am going to see my sisters. >> on top of each pack packed travel period and adding in hurricane beryl that could add to some delays we see at the board right now, traffic on the roadways unprecedented this fourth of july, this is what is going on in chicago a live look at i-90 it is moving smoothly but we know a lot of people are driving to their locations not even flying so that i can get pretty crowded. back on her life a flight just overnight listen to this they were on their way from detroit to amsterdam and it was on a delta flight and they were fed a spoiled food so we don't know how many people ate it or if they got sick and diverted to jfk but supposed to be in amsterdam and ended up in new york i don't know if you like all of that food but make sure you check the container to make sure it is spoiled, i gu guess. >> bill: not a big fan of the airline food, alexis for sure.

international flight for spoils you gobble that up and have to sit there the whole time, but at least there's no lines behind you. rare to see that. >> aishah: hurricane beryl is taking aim at jamaica now after causing some serious damage in the southeast caribbean. chief meteorologist rick reichmuth is live with the latest in front of those graphics so what can we expect? >> i have to tell you put all of it in the context were us. this is how much hurricane season is happening with these low numbers we see peaks around september 10th when our water temperatures generally peak. we have water temperatures across the atlantic basin that are peak water temperatures, peak hurricane season and these are basically the idea anywhere yellow or above is above-average temperature coming temperatures at or four and 5 degrees above average especially across the atlantic and into the caribbean which is where the storm formed on friday into saturday and very

quick became a category 5 hurricane. this has blown away every possible record you can imagine. earliest major hurricane and earliest category 5 last time we had a major hurricane was 2005 across parts of the western caribbean that was 2005. we are expecting a really active season this year and this is certainly an indication of what is going to come. right now this the hurricane here getting very close to jamaica, those mountains disrupted at all, hard to say so far at least right now we think the central state of the south of the island. but that puts the island on the wrong side of the storm so definitely a damaging scenario for jamaica. then toured tomorrow night across the yucatan peninsula of mexico to whom taking a big hit likely and then will likely have the storm across parts of the western golf this water also really warm and a stronger storm may be brings us up toward areas

of texas this would be sometime monday. so we very likely would have some impact of this, definitely some rain across coastal areas of texas. we have a direct landfall to hurricane? possible. and so many intense storms what happens when it gets over crust water doesn't happen again? high pressure has been protecting eastern seaboard this will see possibly to get into the texas coast seeing a pretty significant rain event we have seen flooding in the houston area this year, we will be seeing it again toward monday or tuesday. >> aishah: you will have a busy fourth of july, but we are glad you are there keeping us safe thank you. >> american women are being attacked by illegal immigrants. we are basically importing immigrants under the illegal

after a record of migrants entering illegally there is a plan with panama to help slow down the flood of migrants for the u.s. border. senior national correspondent william la jeunesse, why the big change? >> number one is a major reversal and recognition that his root cause strategy didn't work. after years of catch and release as you said now the illustration will help u.s. bond migrants even before they reach the border striking a deal with panama to screen and abort migrants at the darien gap. a land crossing between south and central america major stepping stone for migrants who fly into south america and then they traverse the jump with panama and jump on trains and buses in mexico to the u.s. border. some 520,000 migrants use the gap last year. monday demonstration said they reached a deal with panama's new president to fly u.s. bond

president biden or entered the u.s. as a got away under president biden now charged with heinous crimes including rapes and murders of girls and women. of my three years whenever i talk to my border patrol agents one of the things that i get frustrated about is the constant release of single adult men from all over the world they understand may be families, children, parents with little kids, but it's a different buy when you have these military age men who are not coming with any families, they show up at the border, they break our laws, they get released into the country we know little to nothing on them and now they are popping up all over the country your thoughts? >> it is insane what we are doing. with us as agents we know not everybody coming in is a bad person looking to harm people in our country and the crimes we are talking about are some of the more horrific ones. we are not even getting into the

>> bill: likewise. let's talk about the positives first. the early results show the drug does kind of slow down the onset of dementia symptoms for a span of several months. how does it work? >> it is about six months saved over an 18 month period of time it was study. blocks the buildup of beta-amyloid protein. three things involved with alzheimer's. the beta-amyloid proteins, tau proteins, they are called plaque proteins and inflammation in the brain. that is what is involved. this officially gets rid of all those plaque proteins and the advantage of the new drug, kisula, is that once you are rid of the proteins it doesn't look like they come back so they are arguing, lolita's are doing can take this drug over several months and over about an 18 month period 70% get rid of those proteins. treatment stops but it is very
10:47 am
expensive. $32,000 a year medicare expected to cover it, as you said it is a mild impact about six months but if you have the problem, that is a big plus. that is the plus side of this. >> bill: if we can pull up the photos of the brain scans below lily released for use photos here the brain scans of folks who have tried the drug and it shows the drug's impact i have no idea what i am looking at so i can hope you can explain what this is. explain the different colors in a progression of what we are seeing in these brain scans with this drug. >> that's easy. by the way, bill you will take ten seconds to learn this the right is the buildup of the bad proteins i'm talking about. on the red starts to go away, it means the proteins are being reabsorbed because the drug is an antibody. remember we have been talking about monoclonal antibodies allowed paradis and anybody that literally attacks this particular protein and stops its buildup. so that is the red there. so it is effective, but again,
10:48 am
that's not the whole story with alzheimer's. we worry about the inflammation that is caused by it, we worry about other proteins called tau that doesn't really affect them. we have learned greece is crazy because the less you work the more you sleep the more you are engaged in games and eat a mediterranean diet the less likely are alzheimer's will build up in the first place. so this drug is more or less for people who you think are in high risk of advancing. the downside of this drug, and this is big, is that still one quarter of those studied end up with brain swelling or bleeding. and that is small amounts of it, not a lot of it in most cases, but that is a very serious side effect. that's why a lot of neurologists are torn on this. yes, it is a tool to have against alzheimer's but there are serious side effects. >> last question alzheimer's such a demoralizing disease. and families who have loved ones who are suffering from it are
10:49 am
willing to do almost anything to get more quality time with their loved ones before the dementia symptoms get too bad. for any families who are considering this drug and maybe want to try it out, what is your advice to them on balancing out the possible risks versus the possible benefits real quick? >> you already nailed it as usual. it's a family disease. that is what is so sad about it. 6 million people but it's going up toward heading toward 15 million people. it devastates families. families have to consider how much quality of life is left. of course, the patient has to be the one who makes the decision. how much quality-of-life is left versus the benefit of this which slows it down, does not stop it, it slows it down versus the real stomach risks of bleeding. or swelling, that's what you have to figure out. but the question is we have better treatments on the horizon then this. this is on the way to better and better treatments. we are going to get to a point where we can stop alzheimer's before it happens.
10:50 am
there are some new drugs being studied on inflammation that look extremely good. blunder hat for the next 2-3 years, you are going to have even more advanced treatment coming out. >> bill: as you mentioned this drug in particular, kisula, a price tag of $32,000. hopefully more drugs are coming in the future as you just said. dr. marc siegel, thank you for your time today. b3? >> aishah: bill we got a three minute warning or watching a briefing room very closely at the white house as they get close for a second briefing after that disastrous debate for president biden, they are trying to clean this up as quickly as possible and this briefing by the way, bell, comes amid this bombshell "new york times" report where they say they have a source telling them that president biden talked with an ally and said he is weighing whether or not to continue to stay in this race. big, big bombshell report that just dropped this afternoon,
10:51 am
bill. >> bill: karine jean-pierre likely playing a lot of defense today. that pressure was active and aggressive with their questioning. spokesman of the white house, white house commander bates, he already pushed back on "the new york times" report saying "the new york times" gave 7 minutes to respond, they are denying it. will see what karine jean-pierre says about that but look, she is also going to get questions about where president biden reportedly said at the fund-raiser that he almost fell asleep on the stage that he was altoo tired after his international trade. he had 12 days between getting back from that foreign trip and the debate much that tate so my time at camp david while he was resting so i don't know how that excuse will fly. >> what is interesting, there she goes, she will start speaking right now let's go ahead and listen end. >> all right. i have a couple things at the top. so i want to begin by sharing that biden-harris demonstration

is announcing an significant new security assistance package for ukraine. as the united states continues to support ukraine's defense against rush's invasion. this announcement is the seventh security assistant package that president biden has authorized to help ukraine since he signed the national security supplemental in april. it includes missiles for the ukraine's air defense systems for high mobility artillery, rocket systems come artillery rounds, and other critical capabilities that are being drawn down from u.s. ops using presidential drawdown authorities. it also includes new funding that the department of defense will use to purchase interceptors for patron and nascent air defense systems to help ukraine defend its troops and its cities against russia's aerial attacks. united states support over the last few months has been critical in helping ukraine defend their territory against russia's advances. thanks to the bravery of the

ukrainian forces and weapons deliveries from the united states and our allies and partners it is increasingly clear the russian defense of iran khaki has been a failure. as president biden has been cleared we will stand with ukraine until they prevail against a russian aggression so i want to share a bit of additional updates before for all of you before we start i know some of you have been trying to confirm some of this information i'm about to share so i will do it right now at the podium, the president has connected with leader jeffries, senate majority leader schumer, representative clyburn, former speaker pelosi, and senat senator cruz. today president biden taped two black radio interviews that will air tomorrow morning. one is with earl ingram on the pacific media network which airs across wisconsin and one with

andrea lawful sanders on wurd's the source in philadelphia and as a governor walz of minnesota announced today the president will meet with more than 20 democratic governors. as you know the governors are some of our closest partners when it comes to creating jobs, building new roads and building bridges and so much more. so the president currently looks forward to meeting with them with that i am happy to take your questions. >> left side of the fund-raiser the president claimed jet lag for his own wellness but he was back for over a week so does he really need more than a week and half to recover from traveling, is that really what he thinks caused? >> a couple of things and i appreciate the question because the president has certainly spoken to this any times about the debate and so he had an opportunity to do that in front
10:55 am
of supporters and as you just stated he did that. he talked about, he owned that the debate was not his best night. and he said himself it is not an excuse but it's an explanation, i was standing here yesterday and many people were asking why, what is the explanation, and that is what you heard from him. look, the two i think in addition to the two major trips, he was also doing continue to do his presidential duties. he worked late in doing that and he'd prepare for the debate and on top of that, there was obviously the jet leg as you asked about and he had a cold. you all her directly you heard from him during the debate he had a hoarse voice, many of you reached out to me and my team and some other members of the white house asking what was going on, we confirmed he had a cold. so i think those two things continuing obviously to do his duties as commander in chief as the president, so i think some of you here in this room could certainly relate to what could
10:56 am
happen when you are having an important moment and you are not feeling well. and also you wish you could've done better. so he took ownership i think that is important. and he is going to continue to make a strong case for his agenda and that is what you are going to see. he was given an explanation and that is what he wanted to do, he wanted to get that out there for people to hear directly from him as he has been doing since friday of last week. >> i know you're calling an explanation but excuses since the debate of what went wrong. >> i don't think it's a new excuse, i think some of your colleagues reached out to us about the schedule. some of your colleagues asked if the schedule was too straining us or was it because of the jet lag and so we are laying out and explain exactly what happened. you heard from the president, you heard from me, and it was indeed a schedule where the

president traveled six time zones forward to g7 in italy, nine time zones back to l.a. and three time zones again to d.c. that is something on that day was laid out for all of you and those who read the notes and on top of that he did have a cold. so it is an explanation. i don't think it is an addition, we certainly don't want to explain this away, but you all ask me for an explanation yesterday, the president gave that directly yesterday to the supporters he wanted to make sure noting that we will get that information as he was speaking last night. >> why wasn't he doing that on friday? why was he waiting on doing that to the middle? >> i was asked a similar question by your colleagues yesterday.
10:58 am
the president right after the debate visited four states into an a half days give a couple of remarks and met with supporters at the waffle house in atlanta at her watch party or north carolina where there were hundreds of supporters there in raleigh so he was busy dealing with his schedule and speaking directly in engaging with his supporters and then spent time with his family. i think what is important as he has done this outreach and having these conversations and it's important to him to do so. the folks i laid out that he spoke to or some of them have been his colleagues. and elected officials he has done for some time. obviously leader jeffries is a new relationship he has. someone he obviously respects and i think it is important to
10:59 am
note that some of the president told me in my team directly moments ago he was going to see the president and he said there were strong conversations and the vice president looks great and they will be ready to work on behalf of the american pe people. >> is president biden considering stepping down? >> absolutely not. i believe you heard from the director of the campaign as well. >> to think the swell of concern from fellow democrats and donors from supporters doesn't he owe it to the american republic tutor reflect on whether he should step down? >> i mean, look. this question where he had an opportunity to to supporters a couple times at this point and laid out what happened on that night, talked about how he understands it was not his best night. he understands that it is fair
11:00 am
for people to ask that question. but we cannot forget his record and what he has been able to do. we cannot forget how he has been able to deliver for the american people almost four years. that matters too. and he has the most historic record administration, the most in modern politics. that should matter. he wants to continue to do that work. and you know, a lot of his what is on his agenda is very much popular with the majority of the american people. whether it is continuing to build a strong economic -- economic -- economic policies, he has done that, creating new jobs he has done that, 15 million jobs he wants to work on that and continue to do that, so he wants to continue to deliver expanding health care, all these things he believes is important the majority of americans believe it's important and his record he wants to make sure people do not forget about the record he has been able
