you have these individuals on speed dial but what are you hearing? >> absolutely. essentially joe biden's damage control has been quite effective the last few days and that is just because he's been defiant. there is really no mechanism to get him aside. it is his personal decision and democrats are basically making a calculation, at least publicly that it does not help matters if he will stay in. it doesn't help to make a mess by going publicly. and some democrats privately have told me they filled the president is holding them hostage by essentially being defiant and staying in. there is concern about his inner circle and feeling that he is surrounded by too many people telling him what he wants to hear. those concerns only amplified after george stephanopoulos interview last week when joe biden appeared to not believe he is behind the polls behind donald trump in the holds. part of it is within the biden circle, it is a commandment.
