>> laura: the cook political report late tonight is making six big changes to it's electoral college ratings, all shifting toward trump. is outside the margin leads in arizona and georgia and nevada are turning those tossups to now leaning republican. and then there's minnesota and new hampshire and nebraska second district, they were all likely down but now they are just leaning. according to the political report, that leaves three states in the tossup column, michigan, pennsylvania, wisconsin and at present pennsylvania is the most vulnerable to be a flip toward trump. joining me now clinical analyst and pollster, how's that biden path to to somebody looking tonight? >> it's looking a lot more difficult -- path to 270 -- it's interesting, the political report talked about an enthusiasm gap and i think that's probably the single most important thing when you get down to the election. assuming joe biden stays in it and it looks like he's going to,

the enthusiasm gap between people who say they really want to vote for donald trump after turn out to vote versus really you have to turn out and vote for joe biden. there's a big gap and it's getting bigger. with all the stuff going on right now, the democrats at war with each other, biden coming out every day to prove he's energetic and shouting and speaking off the teleprompter, it just gets a little worse. right now for the moment the republicans have a reason to be optimistic about november. >> laura: you heard a bit of the span and it was reported in the more liberal international media sources that postdebate situation for biden wasn't as bad as people predicted. but just a one or two-point shift in a close election is huge, is it not? >> well and also let m we don't have many battleground poles. for whatever reason all of the organizations run a poll, the

in another poll biden is down five points in pennsylvania. i think that sounds a little bit wild but if that's anywhere near true, then this is a blow out, not a close election. >> will here's the thing. i mean biden, the journalists, the elite journalists want to shot him out but biden very aptly went to the black caucus to secure his position in congress and he's holding onto it right now because that's where he got his original boost in the first place. so politically he's maneuvering okay. he just can't survive the media. there's just a frustration they can't get him out of the way and have a chance at winning. i hasten to say that democrats can do a lot of things to win elections. arizona you can have people voting who art citizens, we know that's a problem. wisconsin just allow drop boxes all over the place so it's not over until it's over but at least from the polling perspective right now, it's moving in trump's direction. >> laura: even the cnn guys, i
