the time, hazing and alcohol are believed to possibly have been involved in the death of a dartmouth college student found dead over the weekend in the connecticut river. 20-year-old wong jong was reported missing on sunday afternoon after being last seen the night before at informal social gathering near the dartmouth boat house. the school suspending two fraternities as police continue to investigate whether hazing was a factor. the faa is investigating after two planes appeared to be flying too close to each other in syracuse on monday. that is not good. the delta flight was taking off as the american airlines flight was about to land. the faa says an air traffic control he instructed the american airline flight to go around the syracuse airport to keep it separate from the departing delta flight. apparently close call there. former president trump challenging president biden to a golf match once again.

for the hot. >> janice: it's terrible. i have been talking to people in houston who say they are worried that the power is not going to come on for days. so that's the problem. i want to point out where beryl is right now across the great lakes and the northeast. we actually could see severe weather in areas that don't typically see the potential for tornadoes and that's exactly what is going to happen later on this afternoon. severe storm threat for parts of upstate new york and new england. and if i could zoom in here to portions of syracuse, ithaca. first level 3 tornadoes threat in at least 18 years. we could get tornadoes in some of these areas. very hot across the i-95 corridor as well. and power outages. 1.7 million people in texas still without power. heat alerts for all of these folks. a very dangerous situation and we'll continue to monitor it but, you know, temperatures are going to feel well above 100 degrees. and when you don't have air conditioning, that's a dangerous situation. brian, over to you. >> brian: thanks.

election odds. our next guest who is running for joe manchin's seat, which is one at risk, democratic senate candidate glenn elliott joins us now. he is also a former mayor. glenn, thanks so much for getting up and joining the program. i guess when we look at the state of things right now, ever since the debate. why aren't there more democrats publicly saying hey, this can impact our race? >> first of all, lawrence, thanks for having me here today. >> lawr >> president has to show the american people he has the vitality and ability to do this job. he needs to put himself in situations where that can be tested. and if he can't do that, irdo think, you know, he has to consider what's best for the country at this point. i know a lot of down ballot races can be impacted by. this of course, i'm running in west virginia where it doesn't matter who the democratic nominee is i doubt that person
