money, ran for the senate. it is sort of he walks the walk and talks the talk. i am ecstatic you're good to me, it feels like the 1980 era. interesting j.d. vance was born two weeks before the republican convention in 1984 and that was the year in which ronald reagan swept 49 states. there was something inspirational about donald trump and how reacted to the assassination attempt and putting them together with a young, dynamic sort of can-do young american. i think it is inspirational. >> carley: the trump campaign is tweeting out what led to donald trump electing j.d. vance as his running mate. one of the things that has come up j.d. vance military experience. listen to this. >> he has served his country in the marine corps and enlisted in the marine corps after the twin towers came down. he has come of course, realize many of that generation with

veterans that americans should not be in worse that don't service interest. he is completely aligned with president trump's position to make this country wealthy and strong again. >> carley: his military experience, robert, one of the reasons he opposes foreign wars. he's one of the senators that has led opposition to foreign aid to ukraine, more money to ukraine. how do you feel about that? >> again, i will go back to theodore roosevelt because i'm doing this for the moment. 1988, theodore roosevelt storm san juan hill and later cut the medal of honor. yet, he became the author of the nobel peace prize because he helped stop the sino russia or appeared at the end of the day, i think you have to say if you have seen war and eisenhower was one of the first gnomic first people to see this and up close and personal you don't want to see it it happen again or the

system of judicial order, doesn't that case also need to be dismissed if we are following judge came in here? >> well, legally because the d.c. case is in a different district, the d.c. courts don't have to follow the decision of judge cannon. with that said, what is likely going to happen here, todd, donald trump's lawyers will follow a motion in the d.c. court when they get the case back from the supreme court, which they still don't technically have. look at this decision by judge cannon. we think you should do the same here. what should happen in the d.c. district court, they should assess the question they know from a fresh relate and take a look at this and take this question seriously. now that you have this decision, very long, dozens and dozens of pages long, todd, is time for the d.c. court to look at this as serious as well. that is what's going to happen. ultimately, this wrong court may have to fit it may be moot if donald trump wins the

killing three young people, 17-year-old sophia died along with my two sons. i didn't know what fentanyl was like so many. four years ago, it wasn't talked about, and hopefully my testimony before congress has helped to make a difference. i am told by the administrator of the dea that it really did. a lot more people are talking about fentanyl coming across our southern border. and donald trump was doing something about it as president. we had a whole wall system. as a matter of fact, the last several president lois contributed to the wall system but joe biden completely dismantled it. i'm learning so much about what he's known and what he could have done. and he has made the situation so much worse. there will be roughly half a million young people dead during his term from drug deaths, from

president biden doubling down on his call for unity in mpc interview and the former president trump and supporters. >> my first reaction was, my god, look, there is so much violence now. and we talk about it and a whole notion there is this -- there is no place at all for violence in politics in america, none. how do you talk about the threat to democracy, which is real when the president says things like he says? do you just not say it because he can incite somebody? look my am not engaged in that rhetoric. >> carley: restoring america editor at the the washington examiner, kaylee mcghee white, during the president's first answer, he mentions january 6th in charlottesville right off of the bat. after the interview, president biden's campaign said,

"their strategy moving forward is to prove joe biden is the calming voice in the room while donald trump is a threat to democracy." how does that turn down the temperature? >> it is just remarkable. bit show biden has no intention to try to unify the nation and no attention of lowering the rhetoric at all. he said he made a mistake in saying he claimed that trump needed to be put in the bull's-eye and a few sentences later, reiterated this observed notion trump as a threat to the nation. i think what is so frustrating about this for a lot of americans i talked to hear in milwaukee and rnc and americans back in the midwest, this is bigger than donald trump. when biden says these things about donald trump, he is a fascist, like hitler, what he is implying anyone who supports him as the same because we are voting for him. by implication, this is the idea, that americans are also

fascists and what did say that last year on stage and smeared trump supporter's smi fascist fear that is the root of the divide in this country and until joe biden takes personal responsibility for his role in furthering that divide, nothing is going to help this country move forward. >> todd: here is the attempted walk back. it is a little hard to understand and process. here is joe biden talking with lester holt, listen. >> i wasn't going to run again because i lost my son. until i wash what happen in charlottesville, virginia, first coming out of the woods with torches, caring swastikas, singing the same nazi bios ku klux klan. and bystander, the president, then president was asked, what do you think? he said, they are fine people on both sides. they are not fine people on both sides. >> todd: that was a
