>> sean: welcome to hannity. it is nights number 2 of the national convention. we are in wisconsin where the gop is rallying big time around donald trump. this places electric tonight. donald trump is racking up endorsements. huge donations. one of the world's richest men, i guy by the name of elon musk has reportedly pledged $45 million a month until the election. meanwhile the atmosphere in this room, i've been to a lot of conventions over the years, this is a lot of fun down here. we all watched the emotional entrance from the former president just two days after surviving that assassination attempt and in just moments we expect to see the former president walk out once again for tonight's events plus we are good to be hearing speeches from ron desantis, nikki haley and much more.

make no mistakes, this convention is happening by the grace of god. one turn of the head, one millimetre, 1 inch, whatever you want to call it. we would be a very sad nation tonight. that should have been prevented. limit get serious for a moment. the failed assassin, was spotted by donald trump supporters and police. we now know 30 minutes before the shooting, local law enforcement officer saw him carrying a rangefinder and reported him to state police. others saw him carrying the latter and a large rifle just outside our trump rally. if you're not a shooter, 130 yards is nothing. they saw him climb onto the roof and they were shouting for police to do something. the roof was just a few dozen yards away from the rally, had a perfect site line to the former president.

so why was a man with a gun allowed to climb onto that roof and take him? why was it left unattended by secret service? how could it happen. donald trump is once again entering the building. we're going to talk with his son in a minute. talk to former speaker of the house newt gingrich. supporting the secret service director, the roof had a slight slope so she was saying it was unsafe for her agents. we're going to play that later in the program today. if it wasn't safe for the agents, then we put them inside. why didn't you have the building surrounded around the perimeter? why didn't you have marksmen watching out for the roof of the -- of building just in case. that's insane. the secret service sniper team was on a nearby roof with an even steeper slope. that you can see donald jay trump looks like he's moving up to your box from last night.

donald junior is with us. the director is now being honest after what was one of the worst security failures in american history. we will get to all of this in a minute but i want to welcome donald trump junior. i watched you last night, we've known each other for many years. i saw. >> it was allergies. not a lot of crying in the trump family. it was so heavy. forty-eight hours later, at the emotion but also the love that we felt here. it's a different setting than 2016, the last time we were at a real convention. 2016 i was almost in a fit fight -- fistfight because there was still a battle going on. what i saw over the last couple of days here in milwaukee was

when i did it was me and eric on the phone, we were on speakerphone and he is okay and he was incredibly composed. obviously the gravity of the situation was weighing on him and that's when i said you were the biggest badass i've ever seen in my life. that moment, i've never not been proud of him. that moment was like level. >> i've known your dad for almost 30 years. we were talking about when we first met. every time at interview your dad before he got into politics he would walk me over and introduced me to you and eric and ivankovic very proudly every time. he did tell me the story about baron. and he took it hard. >> it is. i had to try to explain that to my 10-year-old daughter. i've got a lot of kids.

seen it weapon eyes against them. conservatives have watched for the last decade as concerned mothers in meetings are turned into domestic terrorists but actual terrorists are led out. >> sean: we now know that u.s. authorities had human source intelligence in recent weeks on a plot by iran. we don't know that they were involved, to assassinate your father but they had that intelligence and not lead the secret service to say to increase security which adds another threat level. >> if you have that kind of credible threat, i know there was a threat against us and the whole family when my father was an office with iran. i think it's a great endorsement. if they want to take out that probably means it's good for america and bad for iran. when that happens, their capabilities are so much more then a kid with a rifle.

us now virginia governor. did i meet you in person, i've talked to a million times. >> i feel like we've known each other forever. thank you for having me. what about the energy and the electricity. >> i was watching you throughout the convention, very warm welcome. >> it's been fabulous. so much fun to be here and watch the republican party come together around donald trump. we've all reflected on providence over the weekend and been able to thank the lord for taking care of him and protecting him but also giving us this moment of unity. we are not just seeing it in milwaukee but across the nation. in virginia it's neck and neck. we have work to do but virginia is ready to elect donald trump. >> if i recall you won by seven. >> by two. joe biden won virginia by ten points in 2020. we turned around and won by two. >> an amazing win.

a lot of converging issues at the time. you talked about tonight being a unity night. we heard from nikki haley, ron desantis, vivek ramaswamy who pointed out six months ago we were on that stage debating and now this is together. and then saturday. has the world changed? >> i think that first of all donald trump was surging anyway. let's be clear, america is ready to elect strength back into the white house, we are tired of weakness and foreign policy, tired of weakness in foreign policy, tired of the week border that's unleashed chaos. you can see it across the nation. the wave was already beginning but on saturday i think something happened that not just woke up america but i actually think president trump saw a moment where strength and courage and fight, fight,

fights, but also compassion and gratitude. this is the donald trump we know and the donald trump that will be our next president. >> this is the guy i've known for 30 years on theirs a part of him i wish that other people knew that i know. generosity, humor, wickedly funny. you saw him fairly recently. >> i met with him three weeks ago. >> was at the first time? >> the first time in person but we'd spoken on the phone many times. >> like us. >> and we sat down together and the first thing he did was talk about the amazing developments of this golf course which he transformed and then we talked about how to win virginia and i said mister president we have a chance at winning virginia and he said we win virginia and it will be lights out. he said what do we need to do and i said we need to first talk to our veterans. the next day they booked the largest rally ever in virginia in chesapeake virginia, where we have veterans everywhere.

virginia has 850,000 active duty and of veteran heroes that live there and we know that they love this man. we have to make sure they get out to vote and that's what we are doing. >> i always worry about northern virginia because a lot of the swamp if you will, not to insult the people of northern virginia but a lot of people who work in dc live in northern virginia. very heavy blue part of your state. >> it is. >> but you said something off air, you don't have to win northern virginia. >> people used to ask me how are you going to win northern virginia and i said we are not, we will just lose it less badly. we get 40% of the vote in northern virginia and we draw even in our big cities of richmond and then we blow it out and rural counties, you will win >> is that immigration, the economy, what are the main issues? >> at the end of the day it's the economy. virginians and americans are
