the largest tax cuts in american history, our energy independence massive amounts of red tape cut and no new wars went donald j trump was president. maybe most importantly though, you could actually feel it in your everyday life. you did not have to love everything he tweeted, but you cannot deny you were better off went donald trump was in office. americans were finally able to start saving money, home prices were affordable and gas hit a low of $1.87 per gallon. as i speak here tonight, many of

our fellow americans don't know how they will pay for their next trip to the grocery store, new clothing for their children or this month's rent. many of our fellow americans worry that we are on the verge of a major terror attack here on american soil. many of our fellow americans don't think their own children will be able to establish a better life than they themselves currently have. many of our fellow americans are right now sitting and wondering how on earth this country could have moved in the wrong direction and so quickly. the democrats in the media know they cannot convince you, the american people, that your life is better off now, because it's not. so what will they do? they will try to sell you on some outrages narrative about the terrible things donald trump will do if he becomes president. but you don't have to imagine what it would be like, all you

8:06 pm
and see him a little differently than all of you. but it is through that lens that i sometimes wish more people could see him. this is a man who hasn't sacrificed for his family and a man who has truly sacrificed for his country. donald trump did not need to run for president for fame or money. trust me, we all know he already had plenty of that. i will tell you why he did it and why he continues on, even in the face of the unthinkable. because he loves this country. [ chanting ] [ cheering and applause ] >> i will never forget watching my two children run up to him with their drawings and hugs for grandpa just moments before he took the elevator down in trump tower to address the media the day after his wrongful conviction. despite everything else he had going on, he had no other focus in the entire world, just a man relishing time with his grandchildren. it's a side of donald trump that not enough people get to see. maybe you got to see a side of donald trump on saturday that you were not sure existed.

until you saw with your own eyes. martin luther king jr. once famously said the ultimate measure of a man is not where he stands in moments of convenience and comfort but were he stands at times of challenge and controversy. there is no doubt that saturday was one of the most frightening moments of my father-in-law's life. millimeters separated him from life and certain death. and yet it was in the midst of it all, as he was jostled offstage by secret service, that he knew how to finding that moment would be for our country and he hoisted his fist in the air.

it was not just for the audience at the rally, not just for his supporters tuning in, but for all of america. as a signal to the world that no matter what, america will always prevail. though it has been strained and attack, no enemy, no force, not even a bullet is strong enough to break our american grit and our american soul. we are the country whose founders gave their fortune, freedoms and lives to pursue their dream of a free society. we are the country of thomas edison, susan b anthony, henry ford and harriet tuchman.
8:11 pm
we are the country who fought and won two world wars. and we are the country who always rises to meet the moment, no matter how insurmountable the task. and in that split second on saturday, donald trump reminded us all of that very history and who we are at our core as a nation. that is the donald trump that i know. [ cheering and applause ] >> he is an american, an american who conquered the business world, an american who made himself a household name, an american who is beloved by politicians and fellow celebrities for decades, until he ran for office with a r next to his name.
8:12 pm
an american whom even barack obama admits people consider the american dream. and instead of sailing off into the sunset after an illustrious real estate and television career, you decided to give back. he decided to bring some of the things that had made him so successful in life to all of you in order to improve the lives of all americans. black, white, brown, gay, straight, all americans because that is the man that donald trump is. i can tell you that my personal experience with donald trump has shown me his heart. there was not a second he made this small town girl who way out of her element in new york city feel anything but welcomed and part of the family.

8:16 pm
he will do what is necessary to protect you, protect your family and protect this country because donald trump wants us all to be successful, to be safe, to be happy, to be strong and to be great again. tonight i am asking you to vote not for the donald trump you see flashed on your tv every day splashed across the headlines. tonight i'm asking you to vote for the donald trump that luc and caroline not call grandpa. i'm asking you to vote for the donald trump that my husband calls dad. i'm asking you to vote for the donald trump that i call my father-in-law. i'm asking you to vote for the donald trump who can and will make america great once again for all of us.
8:17 pm
thank you, god bless you, god bless the united states of america. we love you. >> bret: laura trump the cochair of the rnc, the last speaker tonight, night two. we heard from governor sarah huckabee sanders, governor of arkansas, doctor ben carson, senator marco rubio, all had very interesting lines and delivery, however earlier we heard from every day americans that really hit home. a woman lost her son to fentanyl. she says it wasn't an overdose but a poisoning and she brought this convention hall to tears telling that story, pleading that donald trump become the next president of the united states. madeleine said her son died in new york and saying she is so sick and tired of being sick and tired, took the floor to another level. those everyday american stories
8:18 pm
before all of the speeches we just heard really were powerful tonight as they were last night. >> martha: i thought then carson was also very strong, talking about isaiah, talking about all of the weapons that have tried to be used leading up to the assassination against the former president. really powerful from all of the speakers tonight i thought. a very strong evening. >> bret: let's bring in our panel. >> it's often said that money is the mother's milk of politics but there's a force at least as powerful and important and that is a motion. political conventions invariably strive for that, they strive to inspire the delegates and the larger television audience, they strive for a feeling. tonight, particularly in the speeches you just referenced by those ordinary americans, it was
8:19 pm
clear that the speakers at the -- had the convention hall in their grip, they had the audience in their grip. it is emotions of that kind, you could feel it in the hall tonight, that is often strive for but rarely achieved. i think tonight it was achieved. >> i have three basic things. one, we saw a lot of unity in the earlier hours. one of the things the trump campaign wanted to do is bring everyone together. speeches from nikki haley, ron desantis, fiery speeches, you can go on and take a look. basically the trump team got everything they wanted out of those speeches. you contrast that with today, democrats are becoming less and less unified by the day and biden continues to take on water.
8:20 pm
>> i agree by the way, totally agree. >> thank you, i would like to add one more thing, the other thing you are seeing here tonight is that the republican bench is broad, deep, diverse and competent at all of these people here are ready to work. they won't be taking days off between now and election day. the third thing is, people here are having so much fun. that's part of the emotion, having a great time. president trump is throwing the party a party and they are loving it. >> talking about those other speeches, we haven't earlier soundbite from nikki haley, and most importantly former opponent to donald trump and the primary. here she was earlier. >> president trump asked me to speak to this convention in the name of unity. it was a gracious invitation and i was happy to accept. donald trump has my strong endorsement.
8:21 pm
>> harold, what do you think of that? >> jd vance can talk bad about donald trump, they've made up, nikki haley ran against him and said things throat the campaign, they've made up. ted cruz and marco rubio, we know their history. unity, they strive for something. this is what every convention strives for, this type of energy and unity. you make yourself more formidable as you go forward. this programming is really creative and democrats need to take note. i think some democrats made fun of make america wealthy again, safe again, but this is working and resonating.
8:22 pm
the people who spoke tonight experienced pain. last night with the wealthy thing it was a bit different. tonight these people had actual loss in their faith help them get through that loss. i come back to nikki haley, she to me was the most important speaker for this convention and for this candidate. uniting all that republican force makes it more difficult for democrats come november. >> to dana's point about disunity with democrats at this moment and unity here, how big a problem is that for the democrats great. >> two weeks ago i did not think we would see this kind of unity. democrats better learn from this >> jd vance i want to say was obviously very moved by the mother who talked about losing her son to fentanyl. you could see that, you can see him being a bridge to people who understand what his family has been through as well, and there they are. let's go down to the floor and check in with bill.
8:23 pm
>> hey guys got good evening. i'd say donald trump enjoyed this night and so far republicans seem to be two for two in terms of performance. a lot of the delegates get distracted and wander during the lesser-known political speeches but those powerful personal stories capture this audience very well tonight. they told us on sunday night they would have a different tone during this convention and i think we saw that more tonight than last night with many references to the assassination attempt in pennsylvania on saturday night. the last speaker laura trump, remember part of her job is to get out the vote is the cochair of the rnc. what happens inside the arena, a lot of times the folks at home don't see it. for the last two nights around 9:00 east coast time, donald trump has a two minute video that comes into the arena and encourages people to vote and vote early and vote however they can. it's received quite well here. i think the powerful personal stories placed in "primetime",
8:24 pm
10:00 on the east coast, was a real difference maker for this audience tonight and until then, we will watch the president lead us out here. he was pumping his fist, applauding. you go back to 2016 in cleveland, ohio at the convention when ted cruz went off script and donald trump came into that arena and 15,000 heads turned to donald trump. tonight it was completely reversed. ted cruz is on stage, trump is in the audience giving him a standing ovation. back upstairs and i will see dana in nine hours. >> quickly tomorrow we will hear from jd vance. >> the success for the convention has got to be demoralizing to leading democrats in washington were looking at the president who seems such a spent force and they can't figure out a way to get him off the ticket, they don't know what to do, they are in bad shape and that party.
8:25 pm
>> there could be a lot that happens between now and chicago and we will be there as well and we welcome president biden to come on fox, whatever show he'd like to come on, and we would talk to him as well. this has been an interesting night. i think it's been driven by everyday americans and i think there was not a dry eye in the house for some of those speeches talking about crime on the streets and how they were affected personally. >> madeleine talked about how when president trump says he understands what you've been through and that he's fighting for you, i think that was very much a theme from a lot of the speeches. >> thank you for joining us for night two. we will be back tomorrow night at 10:00 pm eastern. >> live addition of gutfeld from milwaukee starts right now. bricks. after the attempted assassination, many are saying donald trump is a changed man. after joe biden was seen by his night nurse, he was also a changed man. terrible. last night the energy in the arena 20 donald trump walked in was electric. the cheering was so loud it drowned out all the booing for brian kilmeade. rip. secret service had kimberly taking heat for not putting anyone on the roof where the shooter was because the roof slants. apparently she was afraid the fat agents would roll off. this is the dumbest excuse i've ever heard.

democrats are circulating a letter asking to delay the nominating process for next month convention. they say they need the extra time to have president biden stopped and mounted. the president is reportedly considering endorsing term limits on the supreme court, says the guy who's been in the office since the invention of fire. speaking of fire, a brutal heat wave is blanketing the east coast, it's so hot jesse watters is traveling with his top-down. all right, let's do a monolog, shall we? okay. [ cheering and applause ] >> greg: oh stop. all right, i will take it. with the nomination of trump and his vp jd vance america woke up today to two white men who may well run the country for the next four years, that's two hitler's for the price of one. so what's going on here? why are evil white men not only leading in the polls but adding minority voters the way joy
8:29 pm
behar adds chins? right now these two evil white he's have the democratic party looking about as organized as a smash and grab at 711. the truth is, there is a key difference between the left and right that goes beyond policy, which is why people of all types are shifting republican. at heart, the right loves america and are not afraid to show it, they are the ones who stand for the national anthem, who love the military, who see america as a force for good and get satisfaction from their families, their country and this show of course. but the left is quite simply as miserable as morning joe and -- dieting, or -- when joe is having his period. both sides have their warriors, for sure, but at least the right are happy warriors, it's why we are winning. thanks to trump, republicans got their groove back.

and the other needs miracle year. you can wrap trump's whole head in bandages like the frick and mommy and he would still be more aware of his surroundings an old joke. biden rallies are in such boring sad places, high school gyms where everyone acts like they are at a doctor's appointment and it's a cross between doctor frankenstein and doctor kevorkian. meanwhile trump rallies are massive and happy and even with a shooting, people mourned but they also moved ahead. you could not take them down. trump has faced figurative bullets and out literal ones and he just gets stronger. he's always smiling, a real smile too, not the skillet or grin biden has had since his plastic surgeon stapled his years behind his head. -- skeletor -- circumstances have shaped trump into a greater force and one who's having a ball. all while the media tries to

8:33 pm
committee and receive classified briefings while on trial. democrats, maybe it's time to ask yourself is all this what happens when god or some other force for justice is on the other side, because in this movie, we are the good guys and the democrats know that finally they are the bad and the reward is coming this november. so if you doubt any of this, look at the supporters on each side. trump supporters are happy and ready to fight while the other side is this terrible and terror-stricken and as unhappy as during others belt buckle. but the celebrities on the right are out there swinging but enjoying the fight. just look at the name of trump's deputy communications director. her name is carolyn sunshine. that's really her name. can you get a happier name then
