angeles and this is america's late news, fox news at night. breaking tonight's forget about rebranding the vice president, apparently it's time to erase her record altogether. first they said she was never that progressive then she was never actually the border sorry and auch apparently she supports israel and condemns the anti- israel protesters. soon she might want to put criminals in jail. meantime president biden also rewriting his record in his address to the nation. >> we have a strongest economy in the world. violent crime rate is at a 50 year low. border crossings are lower today than when the previous a ministration left office. >> trace: a flurry of untruths that might even leave geppetto a bit surprised. >> good evening trays, last night president biden reminded americans that when he was elected to office he promised to tell the truth. many believe last night's exit speech wasn't as transparent as
8:02 pm
promised. >> today we have the strongest economy in the world, inflation can -- continues to come down. border crossings are lower today than when the previous a ministration left office. >> reporter: as far as immigration numbers, border patrol stats show the total number of migrant encounters and apprehensions at the southern border increased 318 percent under president biden and as far as the economy, inflation peaked with a twelve-month rate of 9.1 percent, the largest since 1981. gas prices reached a record high of $5.16 plus the cost of buying a house hit an all-time high with the average 30 year fixed mortgage peaking at 7.79 percent last october. these facts weren't the only context missing from the oval office address as reporters hounded the white house press secretary today on biden's lack of explanation for his abrupt exit from the race.
8:03 pm
>> [ inaudible question by the media ] >> i don't have anything else to add what the president said himself last night. >> now that vp kamala harris has taken over biden's presidential campaign the white house, democrats and media all circling the wagons around her working overtime today, fighting claims she was ever named the border czar and deleting a webpage labelling her the most liberal senator in 2019. >> trace: a lot of wagons and at circle. thank you. the fox news at night commonsense department is a little unclear about the democrat strategy for kamala harris. is it to make her as visible as possible or as invisible as possible? her campaign is certainly pushing her to do rallies, meet with heads of state and to get her newfound brat status front
8:04 pm
and centre. in other words forget about the policies and focus on personalities she is making headlines as the liberal media machine fawns all over her. common scents and the american people are fully aware that's not a savvy strategy, it's a sugar high, it's ephemeral her approval rating as vp is 37 percent. the political equivalent of a box office... of raging disappointment. now the goal is to re-create the past. in 2019, gob track, a website that trots congressional voting ranked her as the most liberal senator. one hundred out of 100. that's not a perfect score, it's an epic fail. now the self-described government transparency website has deleted the ranking. much like the media deleted her status as the border czar. much like california is ignoring her record as attorney general. it's natural to avoid scary
8:05 pm
things and her record is scary. commonsense wonders wonders how it's possible to run for president while you run from your past. let's bring in spokesperson... i just want to put this up and let's play this. at this is kamala harris before she became the vice president, watch. >> we've got to critically re-examine ice and think about starting from scratch. >> i'm prepared to get rid of the filibuster to pass a green new deal. >> there's no question i'm in favour of banning fracking. >> would you support changing the dietary guidelines? >> yes, i would. >> trace: she can fight and scream and all she wants to, she is as far left as they come and there's not really any way to change that. >> that's 100 percent right.
8:06 pm
the american people are not stupid. i've always said that the democrat party of recent years runs on rhetoric not on policy, not on substance and not on the record because it's kind of all that they have left. unfortunately this administration has done so poorly that the american people see what -- with their own eyes what's going on. removing websites it's going to change their minds. the american people are used to the lies but let's not forget the same media trying to convince them that kamala harris is a different person now is the same media trying to tell them that kamala harris is the answer to all their problems. these are the same people that a couple of days ago were telling all of us that joe biden is staying in this race, is going nowhere and he is the nominee for the presidency no unfortunately the american people know they can't trust anyone right now i think that's been the breakdown of all of the institutions right in front of her eyes. >> it is so sad that americans are used to the lies. the headlines in 2020 read the following here. biden taps vp harris to lead response to board a challenge. biden makes harris the front
8:07 pm
person on immigration issues and border surge. biden tasked terrorists with stemming the migration of southern border. headlines now, kamala harris was never biden's border czar. use what she did. harris border work was on root causes of migration, she wasn't in charge. and the border... come on eric. it's so childish to do this. >> they set her up to fail, they didn't solve the issue for three years and the numbers are down in the last month but that's more of an indication of why didn't you do those thanks in 22 anyone, 2022, 2023. now it leaves are vulnerable to the issue that still is donald trump's number 1 issue. has a double-digit advantage in the polls on that issue. >> trace: if she did well on the border, they would be calling, her nickname would be kamala the czar harris. so biden told a rapidfire list
8:08 pm
of lies. put the inflation numbers. this is biden versus trump. look at the inflation numbers. gas prices 46 percent up. rent plus 30 percent. thirty year mortgage plus 148 percent. those are stunning numbers elizabeth and you wonder why voters are unhappy? >> i don't know what's worse the stunning numbers or the lies. i think unfortunately the american people are kind of used to it like you said. let's not forget in that disastrous debate performance a couple of weeks ago that derailed joe biden's campaign altogether he looked at the american people in the eye and said that no american servicemembers lost their lives on his watch. we obviously know that 13 american servicemembers lost their lives in that horrible afghanistan withdrawal. thirteen american servicemembers who should never be forgotten. i the problem here is i don't know how many people care anymore what he says i don't know how many people have any
8:09 pm
faith in him are his administration or his campaign. they've been lied to for so long now they're not sure if they've been lied to these entire years that he's been in office and that's a real problem. if you believe in the american system, you believe in this country and you want the best for the american people, how could you look them in the eye and treat them this way and expect them to believe you anymore after you just jumped off the ticket and set that that was okay. it's disastrous and i can't believe we've got here. >> trace: the female voters, this is keen -- key female voting blocs. donald trump 43 percent of independent voters, 29 for kamala harris. like college graduates 56 to 40 in favour of trump. small city suburban 4742 in favour of trump. surprising at all? 's. >> it is. kamala harris is leading women overall, the question is the margin because donald trump is well ahead with men so that's really one of the things you are going to have to watch your she's getting a bounce right now there's no question about it was some of the crosstabs but the
8:10 pm
question is will that last or is that a temporary thing. now that her record, particularly from that 2020 campaign, i think that is really where there is a lot of stuff for republicans to mind appeared she came up for some pretty aggressive left-wing policies during that campaign that flamed out very quickly. >> trace: thank you both. >> my mother used to have a very funny story and she said kamala what you want and i said, is how she would say it and she said kamala what you want and i said freedom. >> trace: one of the vice president's favourite stories doesn't appear to be hers. looks like she plagiarized it from a well-documented martin luther king jr. story yet another attempt to rewrite her own history in an effort to court to black voters. let's bring in la county republican party chair... welcome to you both, thank you. i want to play this. on still stunned by it. you might be as well but this is
8:11 pm
joy reed talking to black voters. >> you are going to look real crazy being on the other side of that line, particularly as a person of colour. but really as anyone who claims to have any connection to the culture. you're gonna look real weird and lonely on that side. >> trace: it's embarrassing to say to yourself, much less on video. >> it's actually super insulting. thank of her having me. i would like to throw a question out to a lot of black americans ... every february they throw up martin luther king about content of character, no colour of skin but every cycle you better or you're not black enough or as joe said you are not like if you don't vote. at this point in time you need to be over it. we are individuals, human beings and our melon encounters high
8:12 pm
but we also remember she locked up a lot of black men that looked like me. rails or member that she didn't ... she has been a living contradiction all the while wanting open borders and wanting us to pay for criminals who come in and even if the mother with her child or the gang member, when you crossed, that was illegal, you committed a crime. >> trace: black lives matter not happy about this saying the democratic nominee in an unknown vice president without any public voting process would make the modern democratic party a party of hypocrites. what you think about that? is that a fair assessment? >> who would've known that in 2024 many of us agreeing with black lives matter. i think the media continues to peon her legs and coloured rain.
8:13 pm
they will continue to gas light black americans throughout the selection to say if you do not vote for kamala harris you are doing something wrong. this is absolutely incorrect. we are looking for president of the united states to lead the country. we're not looking for an identity politics candidate to lead the country. that's all black americans are good to be facing this election cycle. they know that they've been bleeding black voters under joe biden and donald trump has been getting them. he's been going to those committees and looking to get those folks onto his side. they need to do the real work and they've been not -- not been doing that for decades. >> i want to put this pull up. this is the new york times poll and you talk about this, you've got support among black voters, new york times 23 percent in favour of donald trump, npr 34 percent. he pulled 8 percent of the vote in 2020. >> one thing that's coming around it was mentioned a second ago is that there is people
8:14 pm
coming over from the black community because the reality is i had a 4-month-old baby. we want to be able to buy a home, we want to be safe and buy a home. we also want opportunity. me look over at the biden harris administration, they are more focused on people who aren't american citizens and we are. let's focus on that. let them talk about their games all day, let them bring up and expose her to the world. we want to see it because it's terrible. let's not hide from it. her record is joe's record. let's stop wanting to be... >> trace: this is the new york post better served by republican policies, black men reveal why they are no longer democrats. cofounder of the rhode island blackout -- black lives matter ... he says the quality of life and black democrat stronghold cities made him realize that left-wing policies do not serve their constituents. only got 30 seconds for you but
8:15 pm
you have echoed the same sentiment. >> chicago, new york, la you look at black voters who have been swamped by the migrant crisis. people have woken up to the reality of the democratic party and i don't think people are willing to take it anymore. donald trump comes with a very unique message of economic opportunity that people want to see because they experienced it under his watch. >> trace: thank you for coming on, and congratulations on your new son. back to the job of the white house, president biden met with israeli prime minister benjamin netanyahu whose visit to washington has triggered two days of protest in the nation's capital. christina coleman is live with new information on this. >> president joe biden and vice president kamala harris met with benjamin netanyahu today. this administration has been calling on israel and hamas to reach an agreement on a u.s. supported three phase deal to end the war and bring the
8:16 pm
hostages home. >> we feel we have to get this in place so we can get a cease-fire. there are gaps that remain in our team, continues to work with our counterparts in the region to see if we can't close those gaps. >> more public condemnation over the anti- israel protesters who burned u.s. flags, attacked monuments and clashed with police near the capital yesterday while netanyahu addressed congress. the white house released a statement calling the actions disgraceful and in a statement today, vp kamala harris said anti-semitism, hate and violence of any kind have no place in our nation. but some conservatives say her words ring hollow. >> i hear the vice president's words, i hear the congressman's words. they ring hollow when we've seen an administration that has called administrators on college campuses that denied the israelis the weapons that they need. >> they want power not protect people.
8:17 pm
>> their reporting that the director of the cia and biden's top middle east advisor will travel next week to meet with the israeli negotiations team to try to make some progress on a deal to end this war. >> trace: let's bring in pretty -- political consultant ... thank you both for coming on. i want to put this up because i just do. i think the picture is worth more than a thousand words on each side. this is a side-by-side and you see there the former president donald trump, this is moments after the assassination of course, and then you see the american flag burning, the palestinian flags flying here and no... this is kind of where america is right now. it really is a definition we have it on the right-hand side of the screen and at the left-hand side. it is a right and left definition. >> it's a question of which way america. on the one side you see trump which is a show of strength and a show of commitment to our traditional ideals and on the

other images chaos and it's chaos that democrats refused to punish. they do not hold these people accountable. this is going on not just since october 7th but since 2020 where people who are violent, these are organized, well-funded political organizations that do this for a living and they are never held accountable, nobody gets arrested, if they do they get spread out and nobody serves in jail. that's an image that we see a lot of these days and it's an image that is allowed by the democratic party. >> trace: hakeem jeffries, the minority leader of the house says the protesters don't associate with the far left. >> many of these folks associate the left-wing of your party. talk about that divide. >> if not clear to me that any of the protesters associate with the left-wing of the democratic party. that's a factual assumption that is inaccurate. >> we had the video to prove that is not.
8:19 pm
we have their statements. it's shameful. >> it is 100 percent shameful but it's an election and many times they can believe in anything. since two hashmak since 2012 at the democratic convention, they did not put god in to their platform and they did not talk about jerusalem and israel anywhere in the platform for it they had have a vote. arab-americans were booing when the boat came out and they had about that israel should be part of the democrat platform. now we are seeing the slow movement of the barack obama case of how america should look at israel... >> trace: this is kamala harris after meeting with benjamin netanyahu. >> as i just told prime minister netanyahu, it is time to get this deal done. so to everyone who has been calling for a cease-fire. and to everyone who yearns for peace.
8:20 pm
i see you and i hear you. let's get the deal done so we can get a cease-fire to end the war. >> why is the vice president meeting alone with benjamin netanyahu? we still have a president and she's given netanyahu the what for and went to get it done, what about hamas? what about telling thomas, what about talking about. >> this was a crazy moment because why wasn't president biden out saying this and taking this meeting? but the main thing is this was kamala harris really owning being a progressive on israel. her remarks were signalling to progressives that she was going to be taking a couple notches even further to left then biden has been in terms of the criticism of israel, the attempt to undermine and delegitimize the war effort and that was her goal. they blame israel for things. israel will absolutely...
8:21 pm
hamas had said no to eight or nine different deals within a blame israel when hamas has no. >> you just saw the vice president negotiating for hamas. you just side. how? we want the war to end picture didn't go and say and hamas has to be destroyed. she is saying just stop the war, maybe we will get some hostages out, we don't know. >> she's been saying that. >> the surprise will come but she just said to hamas i've got your back. and into years israel is going to have to go right back in to gaza. >> trace: thank you for coming on be appreciated. coming up the investigation continues and we now have video from the fox flight team giving a birdseye view of the trump rally sight where an assassin nearly took his life. plus setting the record straight, who is kamala harris really and what are some of the highlights? the low lights of her political career. answers on that and later in the nightcap, democrats in the media
8:22 pm
working overtime as you have seen to a race kamala harris progressive passed. >> i think that creates an opportunity for her to define herself and i think some of the donors that were being talked about might be waiting for a little more definition on where she comes out on the political spectrum. >> trace: after more than two decades in public office we know her record and it's far left but the plot to rewrite the vps history is in full swing. what you think? can they rebrand the new kamala, maybe delete the old? or will voters read right through the deception. let us know. we will read your responses coming up in the nightcap and if you can't join us live don't forget to set your dvr and watch us any time. we are coming right back.

>> trace: we are getting new perspective of what the shooter and the secret service counter sniper saw when thomas crookes tried to assassinate former president trump. live in butler pennsylvania with more. jeff good evening. >> it has been nearly two weeks since the former president was shot and we are seemingly no closer to getting answers surrounding one of the biggest remaining questions and that is why this all happened. we are starting to slowly get some new information as well, some new videos that is helping fill some of those gaps. one of them being this new video that we got from the fox drone team and offers a new view of what would have likely been the line of sight for both the shooter and the counter sniper is. the first give you a glance into the view of the person firing the shots. that's the roof there at the bottom of the screen and to the right the area of the stage that trump was speaking from.
8:29 pm
you notice some trees covering one of the counter sniper's positions. now the other angle is from the likely viewpoint of one of the counter sniper is. the shooter's position is often the distance next to that tree. earlier today trump was sounding off over the phone on fox news saying the biggest misstep in his opinion right now is on the secret service. >> the secret service are such great people. it is such a blight on the reputation. there should have been somebody on the roof when you look at it now, it's a clear shot. >> state police in pennsylvania recently told congress that they thought that two local police officers left there post or their position -- just prior to the shooting happening. the butler county da call that misinformation saying the officers were doing the job they were assigned to and only one of the officers briefly moved to keep eyes on a suspicious person. that person ended up being the shooter. tonight state police here in

pennsylvania say they stand by their testimony. >> trace: live in butler pennsylvania, thank you p. are back in dc president biden passing the torch to kamala harris and democrats and liberal media are doing their best to keep the torch burning. how much do we really know about the history of the current vp? let's get back live to christina with a closer look at the background and political career. >> i recap of the record here. kamala harris launch the prosecutor to politics career here in california she was elected to serve as the da of san francisco in 2003 and in 2010 as california's attorney general and in 2016 she was elected to the u.s. senate as senator, they ranked her as the most politically left and least bipartisan senate democrat picks she supported the green new deal and legalizing marijuana. harris ran for president in 2020 but dropped out of the race before the iowa caucus and then president joe biden later chose her to be as running mates.
8:31 pm
as his vp, critics have blasted both of them for the high inflation under this administration in edition to the ongoing horrible border crisis, a massive problem she was tasked with handling. >> her deadly destruction of america's borders is totally disqualifying pure she shouldn't be allowed to run for president. >> she cast the tie-breaking both the creed of the worst inflation and a half a century, decimating middle-class families >> despite the mounting criticism, harris says she's ready to defend her work and debate donald trump. >> in this campaign, i promise you i will proudly put my record against his any day of the week. this campaign is not just about us versus donald trump p. are this campaign is about who we fight for.
8:32 pm
>> a new poll shows former president donald trump leading against harris and four critical -- critical swing states. by close margins. >> trace: christina thank you. let's bring in reform california chairman and... thank you both california globes you first. california's image will be a weapon if kamala harris faces donald trump this year pure goes on to read trump will almost certainly claim that electing harris would visit those california conditions on the nation as a whole illegal immigration perhaps being the most powerful, potential issue in those decisive states. >> those of us in california know how much of a disaster kamala harris is, how far left and extreme she is. for the rest of america if you are wondering, you can do two things. you can do research are ask the californian who fled the state and moved in down the street from you. why did you leave, what they will tell you is that kamala harris and her ideology brought
8:33 pm
us the highest cost of living in the nation, a record number of homeless people, we have a massive crime surge, mainly because of her policies not only as da in san francisco, i crime wave in san francisco, she was the original george soros type prosecutor's but she supported prop 47, 57, took a way tools for prosecutors and police to arrest criminals and released these very same criminals onto the streets for good behaviour, all that happened while she was attorney general and we are now suffering the consequences. >> it was under her that prop 47 was named the safe neighbourhoods and safe schools act. >> puppies and unicorns, who wouldn't vote for that. they said to us last week when it was going to be biden, the weekend at bernie's presidency campaign. they said you are voting for a team. let's take them at their word. the team is kamala harris, gavin newsom and look at what they've done to los angeles, to san

francisco and oakland. >> gavin newsom, the california globes has here, gavin newsom ordered state agencies to move homeless people out of camps but to where? they've got no place to put them, there's no real teeth in this because it's up to the local localities here to do the work. >> i would urge the media before you trust anything coming out of gavin newsom's mouth, take a look at the fine print. this order has no impact anywhere your kid just says that state agencies ought to start planning a process and dialoguing and coming up with policies so there are no camps being claimed -- cleaned out the. the state governor who does this all the time, when gas hit seven dollars a gallon in california which happens about once a year, he comes out and said i'm ordering an investigation to find out why. we never got the investigation and there's no real report. he knows he caused it and so he's just trying to pretend to be taking action. guaranteed come back to the homeless camps six months from

now are six weeks from now and they will still be there because these people do not want to actually deal with the root causes of homelessness which is addiction and mental illness. >> unless the leader of china shows up. >> they cleaned all of downtown, it was amazing and then she left and the homeless came back there and nobody said a word. >> he's quite shakespearian. a lot of sound and fury signifying nothing. when gavin speaks, the subtext is always pick me and that's what he's doing again. >> it's nonsensical. thank you both. coming up domestic violence nearly turns lethal in north carolina and it was all caught on camera. the video is amazing. aaron cohen and our latest body cam hero have that story and the pictures in moments. meantime 830 4:00 in the west coast, the trip across america. that is fremont california which

canal for the latest edition of the fox news a night exclusive body cam hero's. stories of heroic police officers in dangerous situations. law enforcement expert eric cohen is live with incredible video and new details of a domestic disturbance call that put to coat north carolina police officers in great danger. >> tonight we've got a story about how to coat north carolina police officers saved each other's lives and the life of a

female victim. at start it when they were responding to a domestic call and shots were heard. you can see as we cut to the footage, officer mcmichael starts to breach the door. the other officer makes entry into the structure. they announced that they are police just to get that verbal going. officer bork makes his way into that master bedroom. immediately we see a weapon from the suspect which gets aimed in the general direction of both officers, that's an immediate sign that they can escalate accordingly. next officer bork attempts to kick that pistol out of the way, the suspect comes out him with that blade which you can see there. officer mcmichael gets slashed across the back of his head, ended up getting -- getting some serious medical attention. officer bork is taken down to the ground. officer mcmichael forces the suspect off of him. officer mcmichael from his back which you can see their fires one shot, neutralizing the
8:43 pm
suspect. saving the lives and trace, both officers sean and mcmichael are -- received medals of valour for the work that day and both of them are alive because of the double effort there with that lifesaving. officer tyler bork is here today to join us. >> they deserved those commendations. let's bring in tyler bork. officer bork, thank you so much. i know you came in contact with the suspect and then he dropped his firearm and tell us if you can what happened next. >> right when i first made entry into the apartment, he points the firearm at me. not sure what made him drop it whether he hit it on something are decided to throw it. the firearm ended up on the ground. me seeing the firearm on the ground i decided to take the opportunity to try to separate him from that weapon.
8:44 pm
i stepped into kick it, hoping that i could put that in the corner and then me and my partner could go hands-on and deal with it that way. >> why did you decide to go into the apartment in the first place? >> at first i was just knocking and i wasn't hearing the -- hearing anything. with it being a domestic violence call as soon as i started hearing the female screaming for help inside it was an easy decision we had to go inside. >> you look at this video and it's amazing and the truth is you've saved that woman who was inside the apartment. you also saved each other's lives. >> absolutely. >> when you go through this in your mind again, if you had to do it again officer would you have done it differently? would you approach this the same way or was there a way to do it differently? >> honestly even with hindsight being 2020, a lot of things went
8:45 pm
our way but i don't think i would change anything. i think everything happened that way for a reason. thankfully we all came out okay on our end. >> i'm wondering why the suspect drop the gun, what was the initial reason that he dropped the gun officer? >> i wish i could tell you. i don't know. i remember him pointing at me and asks thing i know it's on the ground i don't know if he hit on the counter trying to take cover. i wish i could tell you. >> it it's interesting because as you described, the video coming along there, you have these officers and they don't know what's next. you have this guy with a gun and he drops the gun and then you are not sure and then he grabbed the knife and you -- have you seen that before? >> i haven't personally seen that but these types of callouts aren't readily dynamic. they change on a dime that's what happened here. you go from a gun being pointed at these officers which gives them cause to be able to escalate to respond with lethal force. they could've been killed and at moments. the gun gets dropped which could have been an act of god.
8:46 pm
you could have been... when that blade comes out, now that's a sharp object and that blade ended up slicing the back of officer mcmichael's head. that could have taken his life there. officer bork is dropped to the ground. talking like real life john wick here. i was one of key on his instructors. he fires that shot to subdue that suspect. that happens very quickly almost on a dime. >> did you know your partner have been hit or struck in the back of the head with the knife and then how did you react and what you do then to get your firearm in position? >> to be honest with you i remember stepping toward the gun. i kind of blinked and i'm staring at the ceiling tried to figure out what happened. right when i started getting up trying to see where i could help out that's when i saw the suspect swinging the knife towards my partner. thankfully my partner was able to push him off and generate some space so i could deal with the lethal threat.
8:47 pm
>> you deserved the metals that you got and your partner the same. congratulations to you and thank you for your work, we appreciate it. aaron cohen thank you for your time, great stuff thank you. coming up, just because you a lot something doesn't mean you get to rewrite history but the media is trying to do just that. you think voters will allow democrats to rewrite history? let us know on next, we will read your responses coming up next and the nightcap. first alive look at paris where the olympics will direction wi. so why wait? talk to your doctor.
