session of congress when bb net now was addressing the united states of america. i think it was all tepid at best when the democratic party has a major problem with respect to israel and anti-semitism. have a large voting bloc in their party that does not want israel to be a free nation. they don't want israel to be able to protect itself. and to prosecute this war against hamas. so this is why you are seeing a lot of dissembling from kamala harris. that will continue and as a backdrop with where the world is in a president's comments of being closest to world war iii as we have ever been, who do you want back in the white house to see not just american foreign policy but the relationships with our allies? do you want kamala harris who is unproven on the world stage? or donald trump who had our country and of the world at it's most peaceful spot in decades?

the choice is clear. >> here is "the wall street journal" editorial board of congressmen. anti-israel protesters make netanyahu's point. not all pro-palestinian protesters are this despicable but most of the anti-israel movement despises america and seeks to intimidate democrats into submission. this faction could spoil the chicago convention and a public place near you. the prime minister in his speech, and you were there, called iran that backed and funded protesters useful idiots. >> bibi netanyahu is 100% correct. these protesters have more frequent flyer miles, they show up at a moment's notice no matter what is going on and that is because they are being funded to be there. and as this is a large and growing segment of the democratic party. this is the same group that in minnesota and michigan were voting on committed against biden when he was still around.

and so the democrats have a serious issue. kamala harris, quite frankly, with any statement or any positioning she has had this week does not demonstrate the clear, moral authority necessary to deal with this moment at this point in time periods hamas is a terrorist state. they should not be supported, period. >> bret: do look at this as a copresident with foreign policy? without dual meetings yesterday and we heard vice president harris after that meeting but we did not hear from president biden. how do you as a congressman look at this? >> honestly, i don't even look at it as a copresident superior to what we have is no presidency. because joe biden has been missing in action more than a year. there is no leadership. and kamala harris is not making the strong statement i believe are necessary for a potential commander and chief to demonstrate you can leave the united states of america. we are in very serious times right now.

we know our domestic policy issues but russia is on the move. china is on the move. iran is on the move. our president, our next president has to be able to step in on day 1 and demonstrate american leadership across the globe. we know donald trump can do that. spew one last thing, congressman, kamala harris is on the move. polls are showing she is closing the gap. some polls showing she is surpassing where president biden was. democrats seem united, seemed fired up. are you concerned at this point? >> in any campaign i've ever been and i always run scared, i always run like i'm losing the campaign. that's where you give your full effort. for people on supporting donald trump and j.d. vance we want to make sure we leave no stone unturned. that being said the bar is incredibly low for kamala harris because joe biden left no bar at all. let's be perfectly honest about that. we expected she was going to pick up some points in the

jillian. i think there has been a tremendous reduction in the crossings. >> juan, guatemala is still the second-highest country for illegal crossings aside right after mexico into the southern border. this is what she is responsible for managing. it's very difficult to make the case. >> obviously if it's about managing root causes, there've been improvements. i think that is the key for the democrats to point to the idea to have been improvements. if she was tasked with handling root causes she could say something must have happened to cause this shift. just of this week we had two of the senna loa cartel leaders, people involved in human trafficking, arrested. it was a major bust. it happened again under the biden/harris administration. >> bret: alex cowan politics often times if you are explaining you are losing. they are explaining a lot about how she is not the border czar. but these numbers are not tied

to her. >> i think that is exactly what is going on. i laud her efforts to distance herself from the biden administration. it is smart for her to say she was never the border czar. i think next she should explain she was never vice president and at that actually she has not met joe biden. that would work. [laughter] but she has a problem. the problem is that there is a lifetime of kamala harris statements and policy on the internet. she raised her hands in the debate and is said to people who come here illegally should get free health care. she says well if you come here illegally it shouldn't be illegal. those things are etched in stone. digital stone out there. and for her to try to move away from that, she wants to be hoped and it changed from joe biden. >> can she remake herself in the chicago convention?

can she erase some of that past? >> it is harder than it has ever been because there is a third force in politics now. this election may not be decided by the trump or harris campaign. it may be decided by the monster of social media. and if there is an old kamala harris out there who lives there and has said and done everything in her own words. she has got to run against that kamala harris. i think she has to undo everything she has done and believe the opposite of what she has said and that will be very hard. >> part of the reason why president don my former president trump when passing the torch to harris says look at san francisco. that's his argument going forward. that may be appealing to certain members of her base. it is certainly not appealing to the rest of the general electorate. >> no i mean he thought he used

foiled a plot by russia to sabotage the olympics in paris. several news agencies reporting a russian reality tv star made famous on russia's version of the bachelor after getting really drunk on his route to france he blew his cover it shows multiple agencies have been monitoring this guy and his movement for months now. let's bring in former cia station chief dan hoffman fox news contributor, thank you for being with us in the broader russian threat let's look at this instance from "the new york post" they say former russian reality tv suspected spy was nabbed in france after he reportedly bragged about an alleged plot to cause mayhem at the paris olympics during a drunken rant. agents found evidence of a large-scale project that suggested he was preparing pro-russian operations to destabilize france. knowing what you know, dan after having served there yourself do you buy it? how concerning is this?

>> he was arrested and facing potentially a 30-year sentence. the french are not providing much detail. it so it is kind of marquee in terms of what exactly he was up to. he had been living in france for the past 14 years and working as a chef. we know vladimir putin likes to use his chef, the deceased head of wagoner paramilitary group also known as putin's chef so look, it's a little early to speculate exactly what this guy was doing, but it demonstrates french intelligence they are on high alert for anyone who could possibly disrupt the games. russia has a long history of doing just that. remember after their doping scandal and 2,018th they launched a massive cyber attack on south korea on the games in 2018. so this could be the tip of the iceberg in terms of what the russians are up to. >> gillian: we have been

reporting our state department team has been reporting this russian campaign to target the paris olympics has been going on over a year now they have pretty much run the gamut of disruptive activities and its scams and ideas. everything from they launched in the spring this deepfake of tom cruise insulting the ioc olympic committee and a fake terrorism alert issued by the cia telling americans it was too dangerous to travel to paris because of terrorism. i mean, it's an ongoing sort of scheme. it sounds like maybe they are becoming more desperate. would you say that is a reasonable assessment? >> you have to remember look, vladimir putin sees this as an opportunity to go toe-to-toe with french and nato member among other but especially nato member and u.s. intelligence because intelligence services are the ones responsible for detecting threats and preempting them before any harm is caused.

that's why vladimir putin is targeting these olympic games. i have no doubt he has four more operations that are far less plausibly deniable then his share of who was detained. >> how do you assess the current vulnerabilities of any americans whether it's the athletes and their teams and families were visitors and american spectators in paris, the threat to them as these games unfold the next couple weeks? >> i am concerned. look, i think france is under siege not just from russia as we have described but other state sponsors of terrorism like iran and the north korea and china mounting their own espionage operations. and then you've got isis and al qaeda. remember, they have targeted france. and been very effective at causing mayhem and killing innocent french civilians. we saw the trains being disrupted the train service
