information we have obtained is from local law enforcement. i appreciate the acting director briefed the senate tradition home and security committees on thursday. only for an hour he appeared to be more forthright. he told us he would be providing documents that we would be requesting approval be in the pudding to see whether he really follows through. i'll be testifying for joint committee hearing on tuesday. he has an awful lot to explain he did say in that breathing he cannot defend what happened in butler i don't think anybody could. i did ask him, found out there were reports the sniper had the assassin and their insight for minutes and asked for permission were denied permission to take him out. that apparently is false is what they told us they acquired him after the shots were fired. but again we need detailed interviews with those individuals to find out exactly what happened. it is unbelievable how little information has been coming from federal law enforcement.

happen. shannon: you said your committee staff spoke with a number of people there but you are the ranking member of the investigative subcommittee for homeland security put you in a bipartisan way with senator blumenthal has sent out letters to a number of local, state, federal agencies. law enforcement apartments asking for all this information as you try to pull this together. like you said it's got a lot of information from local agencies that it sounds like they did not appreciate being tagged are held responsible for something that are coming forward to say that was not us. do you worry with so many agencies of the mix will be a lot of finger-pointing is going be hard to track down where the breakdowns actually happen or do you have confidence can you tell the american people they are going to get answers and someone will be accountable? >> and force of the federal agencies are doing what they always do their hiding behind the excuse is an active investigation for it again, we'll see whether acting director row is as forthcoming as he said he was going to be in the briefing on thursday. our committees and right now we

have a bipartisan investigation with the chairman and ranking member of homeland security with senator blumenthal. went to try to work cooperatively we did democrat center to use their process i cannot issue subpoenas, they can the house is going to have their investigation. inspector general's will have their investigation. the fbi there will be a lot of people investigating this all of these individuals that saw something, first will they need to memorialize that now they need to save many recordings, any videos they have taken. but we need to talk to these people and transcribed interviews these things take our civil compare notes all the other people investigating this and we should be able to develop the truth is that like 1963 you would router film we probably have hundreds of videos and audios. we have hundreds of witnesses. but we need a law enforcement not local but federal whistleblowers coming forward to tell us what they know for i know they are talking to a number of different offices. targeted different media personalities we need those
