top of mind as we get closer to the election. >> both candidates major campaigns already r. ready to talk about the economy. later today in north carolina. former president trump, is he going to be laying out his latest vision on where he thinks things should stand when it comes it trade, taxes, transportation, tariffs. is he going to be speaking in a state that he won the last two cycles. but it does appear to be more competitive now and on monday, trump accused democrats of propping up failed economic policies. >> that they really it's making them angry is what kamala and biden have allowed to happen to the economy. it's a disaster with inflation. the inflation, it doesn't matter what you make, the inflation is eating you alive. today they are using all their money and borrowing money just to live. >> vice president harris she too is talking about the economy this week. tomorrow she is going to hold a joint event with president biden in the d.c. suburbs and then on friday, she'll speak with raleigh, north carolina. just a few hours away from where trump is today.

we are hearing how the campaign is planning to talk about the economy. the harris campaign has a new statement out today saying this election will be a choice between two very different economic visions. one that builds up the middle class versus one that helps billionaires and billing corporations at working families' expense. we just learned that president biden will also be talking about the economy today. is he going to drop in on an economic meeting that's happening here at the white house. that was just audited to the schedule. so it is no secret that everybody is talking about the economy and, guys, within the next hour, we are going to gets new numbers on where things stand when it comes to inflation, the latest cpi data and give us an idea where inflation is coming down or not, steve, ainsley, brian and lawrence. >> brian: two days away from policy. i think we actually know the policy. we have been living the policy unless you want to say you don't understand how oppressed i was in that white house. i had all these great ideas and joe biden with the bidenomics every day. >> steve: i tell you what. actually, that's kind of close to it. axios just dropped an item from

4:15 am
>> lawrence: should we do a quick poll and ask the american people, who believes that illegals who are in the country should be able to rape children and be out on bail and not be deported? not turned over to ice? is anybody in support of that? but apparently, some cities have decided that they are not going to tell ice that we have rapists that shouldn't be in the country. >> ainsley: this haitian migrant. is he 26 years old. he was arrested like brooke said march 14th. he was arrested for raping a child or accused of that. that's in march. then, in june 20 -- on june 27th. the county superior court refused to honor boston's immigration detainer, then released him on that $500 bond. then yesterday, on august 13th. deportation officers rearrested him. this happened back in march. >> lawrence: all the detainer would be is let us keep him in custody until ice comes to pick him up. and they refuse to do it. >> brian: they want to blame texas. texas only a small part of delivering buses.

other people coming in, pouring in. and the democratic mayor can't get a call back from the democratic president who has been iced outs because he spoke up and said this is not sustainable. $5 billion it's cost new yorkers. 5 billion. look at that 5 billion. and as you break it down. it's really insane. 500 million on administrative costs. 500 million on food and medical costs. 2 billion on services and supplies, many of which they don't like. and 98 billion on housing and rent. and randall's island kick them out after 60 days or whatever. though set up pup tents next door to the big tents not leaving. >> lawrence: should be illegal. >> steve: break it down how we are spending the money on the migrants, had the city had that money, we could have -- new york city, could have hired 40,000 new teachers, or they could have covered the entire cost of the new york city fire department and the san taping department, which is out on the streets every day. but, instead of paying all of that, it's now all about the

4:18 am
but, in 2019, then candidate biden swore he knew nothing about his son's overseas business dealings. >> i did not know he was on the board of that company. i have never discussed my business or their business, my sons or daughter's. >> i never discussed a single thing with my son about anything having to do with ukraine. >> i have never response with my son about his overseas business dealings. >> i have never discussed with my son or my brother or anyone else anything having to do with their businesses, period. >> brian: abbe lowell came out and said no meeting occurred. no materialize dollars. no request for anything in the u.s. was ever sought. only an introduction. nice spin. >> ainsley: hunter's lawyer tells the "times" that the meeting never happened. and the white house says that president biden did not know about his son reaching out to the embassy. >> lawrence: clueless. >> ainsley: who appoints these ambassadors? it would be barack obama and joe biden, their administration. >> steve: here's the thing, these documents have -- this
4:19 am

4:21 am
good. we shouldn't be helping them. >> lawrence: i don't want to hear anything else about the trump kids. they were in business before they even got into the administration. if there was even a shred of evidence like this, there would be calls for investigations and all of that. he had no real business. he used his dad's to curry favor. can you as an average day businessman just call an ambassador and get them toe help you out? everybody knows it was only because his dad was the vice president. >> brian: actually eliminates you from doing it if your dad is the vice president. because it looks like duel use. >> steve: hats off for the "new york times" for getting the story. they sued for a while to get it. now we know joe is not running. >> brian: carley, if you didn't work here you could use our names to get tables and things now a conflict of interest. >> carley: i was thinking, brian would say carley's dad is not the vice president. i was trying to think it's like playing a game of chess. >> brian: practicing my awkward tosses. >> carley: all right. we do have a fox news alert to
