and today is a very hard day for me. i will be reliving today, the day that i lost my son, which is today. >> shana, what can you tell us about kareem to remember him today and his last moments of his life? >> kareem loved life. he was very adventurous and loved outdoors, going hiking, riding bicycle, working out. he loved live and did it to the f fullest. he trained five to six days a week and would do tournaments when tournaments would come around. i had posted a video on my instagram yesterday, last video that we received from kareem, which was him comforting a

little girl in kabul. he is sitting there telling her we're friends, trying to make her feel safe and comfortable. that was the last time we heard from kareem. >> griff: in the tragedy, you have lost not one, but two sons. >> yeah. my oldest son took his life almost a year after kareem had passed, august 9, 2022. sorry about that. he was grieving kareem and it became a little too much for him, he took his life to be with his brother. >> griff: shana, what is your message to the country, what do you want the country to know as we honor and remember the 13

servicemembers killed, including kareem nikoui. >> i want them to know that my s son, i can only speak for my son, i know all 13 felt like this way. they loved their jobs. my son loved his job and being a marine. before he became a marine, he put others before himself, always wanting to help people and made sure he helped people. he would help our neighbor down the street. it wasn't until after kareem nikoui passed away, the neighbor let us know. kareem i thought he was hiking, he was down the street at the neighbors shoveling rocks to

the march and they know and i know and all the veterans out there know that future american soldiers are going to have to go clean up this mess. and you contrast that with president trump. is he going to be with those families today. he has spent time with them. i was with them up the bedminster when he spent an entire weaving them. met with them individually. the most important thing to them he has promised them transparency. when he is back in the white house is he going to release all the videos, all the tapes. answer all their questions and give them the transparency and the closure that they deserve. >> griff: congressman, you put your finger on something that i think is important there when you were talking about lessons learned. because we don't know what sort of foreign policy approach a future president harris would have. she has no policy page on her website and she certainly hasn't spoken about it. but we do know her last words from the situation room when she was with biden.

we're not going to play that for you. as you know she said that she was the last person in the room. what do you make of that? >> oh, she puffed her chest and patted herself on the back. she was proud of it. she was proud to tell the world that she and biden made that decision together in those final moments that led to this debacle that abandoned over 800 americans. left over 150,000 of our allies that stood and fought with us that are being hunted down by the taliban as we speak. and sent a signal to putin, xi, the ayatollahs, and the world that america was in retreat. so, griff, we do know her foreign policy. we have seen it the last four years. this isn't day one. this is year four of an appeasement first, find another concession to give the dictators and the bad guys, and apologize for america. because, at their core, the progressives believe america is a country that is racist,

misogynist and colonialists and, therefore, needs to apologize for around the world. president trump knew that by demonstrating strength, by having the strongest military in the world, but that also having strength in the white house, that's how you keep the peace. that's how you establish deter reasons. look at the middle east under his watch. isis defeated. iran broke. peace accords broking out. and made it crystal clear that we stood with israel. there was no daylight between us and our greatest ally and you certainly didn't see hezbollah, hamas, and the houthis on the march. in fact, you saw them in retreat. they were complaining that they were out of cash. because tehran was out of cancht president trump knew that iran was the core issue and that's why you didn't see october 7th type of attacks in israel under president trump's watch. you also saw that even though he wanted out of afghanistan, absolutely. he was going to leave that air base at bagram.
