special edition of "hannity." i'm jason chaffetz in for sean. kamala's disastrous interview on cnn. first we take you live to the annual gathering of moms for liberty where former president trump is speaking. let's listen in for a moment. [ applause ] >> of' heard you talk about your mom in interviews before. she was obviously a very strong woman. was she hard on you with school? tell us about your mom a little bit. >> no. she was great. i had a great mother, great father. very different people. my mother came from scotland and she came over to this country. are there people from scotland? you know, actually, that's hidden. do you know that some of the biggest, smartest, most brilliant leaders in business come from scotland and nobody knows it? or at least their parents came from scotland. [ laughter ]

scotland did very well in this country, i'll tell you. it's very -- we have people -- and i know that one group, they're a very successful group. she came from scotland, great place. she came over just for the summer. and she was 19, i guess. and she met my father and they had a very long marriage. i said i'll never top you on that, pop. you always want to be a little bit better than your father if you can, a little more -- and my father loved that. some fathers don't like it. when you have a father that doesn't want his son to be a success -- [chuckles] you've got a problem with the father. i've seen plenty of them. they make it actually hard for their son. no, i had the opposite. i had a father that loved what was happening. they met. they fell in love much they got married and they were married for six and a half decades. >> wow. >> a long time. i said, pop, i'm not going to be able to beat you with that. [ laughter ] but anyway and they had just

a great marriage. very different people but they had a great marriage. very strong marriage. >> so i want to talk to you a little bit about the apprentice. we talk a lot at moms for liberty that we're in the middle of a cultural revolution in america. people like to be dismissive and say it's a culture war. >> jason: that's former president trump at the annual moms for liberty gathering. we'll go back to his remarks in a few minutes. but now we turn our attention to trump's opponent. tonight kamala's first and only sit-down interview of the entire presidential campaign is now in the books. but most americans still have more questions than answers. per usual, most of kamala's responses were filled with rambling, meaningless platitudes, but the vice president did make one thing clear -- her values have not changed. watch. >> let's be clear. my values have not changed. i believe it is very important that we take seriously what we must do to

guard against what is a clear crisis in terms of the climate. dana, i think the most important and most significant aspect of my policy perspective and decisions is my values have not changed. my values have not changed so that is the reality of it and four years of being vice president. >> jason: we've been warned. for decades, kamala's values have been radical and extreme, but don't take my word for it. take a look at this. >> how's the state going to be better if you're the attorney general and not mr. koi? >> you know i've read at the republican convention he called me a radical. so i guesss that one difference between us. [chuckles] and yeah, i am radical. [ laughs ] i do believe that we need to get red cal about what we are doing and take it seriously. >> jason: not long ago, kamala called for immigration and customs enforcement, i.c.e., to be

abolished. she called for illegal immigration to be decriminalized. she referred to trump's border wall as a medieval vanity project. she supported defunding the police. she co-sponsored the socialist green new deal. she called for an end to fossil fuels. she supported the electrical vehicle mandate. she co-sponsored medicare for all and promised to ban private health insurance. she wanted to end cash bail and even promoted a bail fund to get violent offenders out of jail in 2020. she also proposed a mandatory federal gun confiscation program. she promised to ban plastic straws and reduce red meat consumption. and she even once proclaimed that there is, quote, no question that she supports a ban on fracking and offshore drilling. last night, here's what she said about her recent plan to ban fracking. watch. >> when you were in congress,

you supported the green new deal. and in 2019, you said, quote, there is no question i'm in favor of banning fracking. fracking as you know is a pretty big issue particularly in your must-win state of pennsylvania. do you still want to ban fracking? >> no, and i made that clear on the debate stage in 2020, that i would not ban fracking. as vice president i did not ban fracking much as president, i will not ban fracking. >> jason: one problem, in 2020, kamala was not clear about her position on fracking. she said, quote, the american people know that joe biden will not ban fracking. that was her quote on it. that's her quote. joe biden, not kamala harris. but remember, if you have any doubt where kamala stands on an issue, just remember that her values as a far left california politician, they have not changed. there's a reason why kamala harris was rated the most

far-left senator in all of congress. here's how both trump and vance reacted to the interview earlier today. have a look. >> we're going to win pennsylvania. we're going to defeat comrade kamala harris. did you see her? [ crowd din ] did you see her last night? did you see her last night? i don't know. do you think she's going to be able to handle presidency? i don't know. i don't think so. china, north korea, russia. i don't know. but we're going to win back the white house. we're going to make this country greater than it's ever been. >> i think it's important for us not to buy this. if you look at the way kamala harris has governed, she's actually governed as a far left person. she's just trying to pretend that she's not far left now because of course she wants to win the american people's votes over the next couple months. if she does she's going to do the same thing that she's been doing for the last few years. she's going to try to make it harder to get american energy from american territory. she's going to make it hard

early for us to drive down the cost of everything from food to housing. she's going to make it harder for us to enforce our border laws and she's going to make more chaos and more instability around the world. >> jason: here now with reaction, one of our favorites louisiana senator john kennedy. senator, thanks so much for joining us on "hannity." are you buying it? the people of louisiana, pretty important energy state. people of louisiana buying what she's sellin'? >> well, jason, i -- i listened to the vice president's interview. i'm biased, i suppose, because i know her well. she's a nice person. i just don't agree with her. i had two reactions to her interview. unsurprised. unimpressed. i'm a pretty simple guy. i like breakfast food and straight answers. i didn't hear any straight

answers from the vice president. what i heard her say basically was i do too have values and, if you don't like them, i have others. i thought she engaged in tier-one-level pandering. it was sort of like a wolf, promising to be a vegan if the sheep will just vote for it. now, look. in politics, as in life -- and you know this, jason -- talk is cheap. what you do is what you believe. what you do is what you believe. and everything else is just cottage cheese. as i said, i know the vice president well. i've served with her for seven and a half years. i know what she will do as president. she is a san francisco democrat. she is a card-carrying

member of the loon wing of the democratic party. republicans are not perfect, but the loon wing of the democratic party is crazy. i described miss harris as a.o.c., without the bar-tending experience. and i think that's accurate. that's how she'll govern, and i'll be glad to talk about specifics in her record. she has one, but you did a pretty good job of it yourself there. >> jason: well, let's talk a little bit more about energy because it's an issue all around the country. it's one of the top issues for donald trump in putting this country back on the right track. she says that she was never opposed to fracking. [chuckles] i mean i'm so confused by what she's saying as if there's no videotape to show exactly what she said on fracking and energy. you saw her.

she cast the deciding vote on many of these issues right there in the senate. >> well, i watched the vice president cast the tie-breaking vote in favor, for example, of the inflation reduction act, which is just the green new deal. i think most americans are all-of-the-above energy type people. they are for every form of energy that is affordable and accessible, but that includes fossil fuels. i think the vice president does not support fossil fuels. she sued all the oil companies when she was the attorney general of california. as i've said before, i support other forms of energy, but i also support fossil fuels because we have to have them.

i think -- i said one time my car doesn't run off of fairy dust and unicorn urine, and that's true. and i think -- i think fossil fuels are going to be part of our energy, satisfying our energy needs for a long, long time, probably forever. doesn't mean we shouldn't pursue others. the problem is the part of the democratic party that miss harris is from, they don't believe in fossil fuels. they just don't. they believe in wind, solar and wishful thinking. >> jason: yeah. i really do wish somebody would ask the vice president to define inflation, because i'm fairly convinced she doesn't know what inflation is, let alone how to solve it, and she acts as if they haven't been in a position to deal with it and that she'll get around to it if she's elected sometime in january. >> well, miss harris helped

create the worst inflation in 40 years in america. when she and president biden took over in 2021, a house that cost $304,000 cost $423,000 today. her plan to try to lower prices looks like it was put together with vodka and darts. she wants price controls. she wants to raise the top federal income tax bracket. she wants to tax unrealized capital gains. it will make higher prices even higher. it will cause a lot of people to lose their jobs and others to see their wages lowered at a time when they need that income. i don't know where she came up with her plan, but i know what the result will be. and bid nomics to me is very

is restoring america editor for the washington kayleigh white along with fox news contributer joe concha. thanks so much for joining us. kayleigh, i want to go to you first because the country knows it's on the wrong track and somehow some way she wants to gaslight us into the idea that she's the fresh new person that's going to come along and make some changes but she's been the one in control. she was the number-two person for the last nearly four years. >> and this is actually one of her failures from last night's interview with cnn, jason, is, listen. it didn't go as poorly as joe biden's meltdown in his debate against trump but as far as we know she doesn't have dementia so i would hope that she'd be able to clear that very low bar. however she failed to do two very important things last night. the first is she failed to distance herself from biden both personally and policy wise as you mentioned. she got out there and said that she has no regrets about lying to the american

public about joe biden's mental acuity. and when asked multiple times why she, as the number two in this administration, has not already taken action on the issues that voters care about most, she vomited up the usual word salad. and listen, i say this as someone with friends and family in some of these very critical swing states. this is going to be a problem among those voters for kamala harris. they care very much about distancing from the biden administration's failed policies and she has not done that. >> jason: joe, 63% know we're going in the wrong direction. i think that number might even be a little bit low at least from the people i've been talking with, with the issues that really matter but she wants us to believe that, you know, she's made the tough decisions and she's a tough prosecutor and she'll enforce the border and be great for energy. but you watched that interview. i saw what you wrote about it. tell us what you think. >> jason, it's as if kamala harris is trying to make

donald trump the incumbent instead of the biden-harris administration that's been there for the last three and a half years. like, boy, we have to turn the page. we really need change at this point. change from your own administration? it's like telling an arsonist to put out the fire that they started. and what we learned last night about kamala harris is that she never says what she means and never means what she says. for example harris said that she is now not for banning fracking as you just said earlier and she claims she made that statement on a 2020 debate stage, which was laughably easy for anybody to fact check. for starters she wasn't even a candidate in 2020. she dropped out before then and no one can find any proof that she supported fracking four years ago. and i guess she said this during the debate with mike pence when she was vice president in october of 2016. again, look at the transcript. there is no mention of that whatsoever. she lied. if you're in pennsylvania right now, how do you feel about that exactly that she says that she was for

banning fracking and now she's not for banning fracking much that's a big issue obviously in that state. in fact the biden-harris administration on day one banned fracking on federal lands. whoops. that's a big problem but of course dana bash, cnn didn't bother to bring that up. by the way during a campaign that in 2019 kamala harris said, quote, i'm 100% against fracking. she is trying to dance through a thunderstorm without getting wet. the bottom line is that she is for decriminalizing border crossings. she wants to abolish private health insurance. she wants e.v. mandates. whoa. how do you feel about that in michigan? she wants to ban fracking. she opposing --s war police. the bottom line is and i'll leave it here, jason. nate silver 538 says the winner of pennsylvania has a 95% chance of winning this election and she just really hurt herself last night with that statement where now she's proven to have lied about it and she loses pennsylvania. she does not win this election. that is certainly for sure, jason. >> jason: real quick exit

question for both you. tim walz was also sitting in on that interview. how did he come off? did he add to the equation for kamala harris in that sit-down? >> he certainly did not help her. he came across as actually sleazeier than kamala did. the question that she was asked about why he made comments about serving on a battlefield and carrying weapons of war and his excuse was that he has poor grammar. what kind of excuse is that? no one is buying that. it would be so much more respectable if he would just come out and admit that he lied about that and apologize to the service members that he offended when he lied about it. >> jason: joe, yeah, just bad grammar? i mean consistent bad grammar and consistent bad grammar onion, the challenge coin? >> exactly. oh, bad grammar led you to lie about your rank. the fact that you left your unit when they were deployed into a war zone. that's bad gram marp.

people love authenticity. this guy comes across as a phony and it looked like a parent teacher conference last night, tim walz, kamala harris slouched over two feet below tim walz at that point. just bad optics. and it was a net negative for both the vice president and her running mate no question about t.things change going forward after that disastrous debate and i'm sorry, interview last night. not much after debate certainly for sure, jason. >> jason: yeah. caylee mcghee white, joe concha, thank you for joining us. coming up, trump held a massive rally in pennsylvania today where the race is neck and neck. the state's senate candidate, dave mccormick, he'll join us. plus doug shown and lisa booth will be here to analyze all the latest polls and this special edition of "hannity" rolls on.

an opportunity for her to try to begin to waffle and change her positions and pennsylvanians aren't buying it. they know that this is a radical liberal. they know bob casey's a sure vote. >> jason: yeah. bob casey -- he's a senator, been a senator for far too long. i can't think of anything he's done to actually impact the nation and better pennsylvania. i just can't. dave mccormick in one of the most critical senate races that there is. i appreciate you joining us. thanks for joining us. former president donald trump is still speaking at the moms for liberty convention in washington, d.c. let's limp in for a bit where he's talking about his administration's right to try policy. >> because you know they fly to asia. they fly to europe. most of them didn't have money. ed this they'd go home and they'd die. it was a hopeless situation. but if they had money they'd go to asia. they'd if to europe. we have much better technology, and what happened is i got everybody in a room. i said listen. there's not going to be any liability. people are going to sign a

document that they're not going to sue the country. they're not going to sue the state. they're not going to sue the doctors or the medical platforms. they're not going to sue anybody. they just want the drug. and we have saved thousands and thousands of lives. it's amazing. actually worked out differently. >> the drug companies now are likening it to a certain extent. ultimately test. somebody's terminally ill and all of a sudden they get better, and it's happening -- i got that done. they've been trying for 60 years to get it done. and we got it done. they don't have to fly away. and it's really had the reverse. people were finding cures to things. when a terminally ill person, a person that's almost ready to die goes in and starts taking something and now all of a sudden that person gets better, it's an amazing thing and we save thousands of lives. so we did -- we've done a lot of -- we've done a lot of things. little bit. we're a parental rights organization. >> jason: what donald trump was talking about there at the moms for liberty conference is important. i can tell you having had family members. you give them hope and the right to try when the other side of the equation is dying? it was one of the best things that president trump did in his four years in office. i hope we all look at that issue a little bit more. all right. labour day weekend is here, which means the summer travel season is coming to an end and the homestretch of the presidential election is about to begin in just two weeks! two weeks. the first ballots will start to be cast. so who is ahead nationwide? polls show an extremely tight race. so let's bring in our observe experts, the author of the new book "the politics of life" democrat pollster doug schoen and fox news contributor lisa boothement these are actual of my favorites. you know what i love about doug? doug, you called it balls and strikes the way you see

them. after that interview last night, and what happened -- is that going to make a difference? does that push people one direction or another or does it lock them in a little bit more? >> i think it has no impact at all. this was a check the box interview for kamala harris. so she could say, yeah, no i did an interview. to me the real question, in a race that is effectively tied and deadlocked, is can the republicans and donald trump make the case that you eight been making and others on fox have been making that she has flip-flopped and she doesn't have consistent positions, pause what she did last night was say that she's a centrist moderate, which obviously goes against the record, but so far the republicans have not compellingly made that case and hence she is tied in both the swing states and nationally. >> jason: lisa, at least for me personally, when she says my principles have not

changed. i'm the same person, i believe her. i just think that what she's spewing right now is a complete fabrication and lie and a deception of how liberal san francisco oriented her positions are. but what's your take on it? >> she has no principles. but beyond that, what this race really comes down to, in my opinion, is that donald trump is ready to do this job and kamala harris is not. and why do we know that she anticipates not ready to do this job? because it took her 39 days to do a basic television interview. something that we're doing right now, that politicians do on a daily basis. she turned this into a main event, a big event. she spoke for 16 minutes during that propaganda style interview that she had to have taped, that she had to have tim walz sitting next to her, a guy who wants positive tut tampons in the boys' bathroom so she is not ready for this job and this matters, jason much it's a

matter of life and death and we know that because donald trump was at arlington cemetery, with the families of 13 service members who died because of the botched decision to withdraw from afghanistan that she said she was the last voice in the room to make. she's not ready for the job. she can hardly even do an interview. it's terrifying. >> jason: all right. quickly to both of you. we have just a short amount of time but what's going to be the biggest difference in these last days of the election? doug first. >> two things. how she does in the debate. can she sustain the position she's taken vis-a-vis donald trump and the gains she's made with younger people and people of color. can she maintain them in the face of donald trump having gained against joe biden in those constituencies. those to me are the big questions. >> jason: lisa? >> well, i just want to

>> jason: welcome back to this special edition of "hannity." just weeks before his sentencing in new york, trump has asked a federal court to take over brags falsified business document case in the empire state. meanwhile democrats are already buzzing about a potential replacement for garland should kamala win in november. getting a little ahead of their skis there. would she continue to weaponize our justice system against trump? here with reaction, trump campaign senior advisor alina habba. alina, thanks so much for joining us. the tip of the spear on many

of these issues. i don't see any slowdown by kamala harris in weaponizing the department of justice to go after trump and his family. but what -- how do you see it? >> it's obvious that this has been their m.o., and i want to personally thank them much it's also been part of our election integrity and interference story line here. these people don't realize what they're doing is only rallying americans that see that they're turning president trump into something that he is not because they are so afraid that he will win because they can't. the american people are not stupid. we've talked about this off the cuff, you know, they r.n.c.. the truth of the matter is this. they will not stop at anything. they are so afraid of trump. they are so afraid that they will keep going. and jack smith in particular has not stopped. and now what we're asking the court to do in the hush money case, as it's called, is another rigged trial that never should have happened

in the legislature. i find it hard to believe newsom's actually going to sign this because he's running for president, don't forget. so we're definitely going to see a newsom run in the next presidential cycle and how's he going to run with this? he's already out there right now with the brant's past decision. he's already out there lecturing california cities, why haven't you cleaned up your homeless encampments?! he's put blue jeans on. >> he's serious. he knows he cannot run for president based on the state of california as it is today. i find it really hard to believe that he would sign this legislation and give that ammo to whoever he'll be running against. >> jason: yeah. to your point, i remember pred xi and president biden showed up if town. boy, they cleaned that place up in a hurry but then they let it go back to, you know, the crap that it was. horrace, are they nuts enough? i mean, you've got homeless

lockstep with the worst of the worst. congressman, when you see this video and you hear the horror stories, what runs through your mind? well, again, you know, to tom's point, the biden harris administration has become the employee of the month every month for the drug cartels. they watch where in 2018, they were seeing a figure of roughly 500 million in revenue to 2021, where they had over 13 plus billion dollars in revenue. you look at the fact that they repealed the remain in mexico agreement that president trump put in place. that was very successful. they repealed title 42, which i would argue isn't so much just about a pandemic, but also a national security, a health and humanitarian crisis that is going on on our borders. when you look at the fact that the senate, the senate, which is controlled by the two democrats, mitch mcconnell and chuck schumer, refused to take up the save act to prevent illegals from voting in our election and or even adding the additional question on the census survey, are you an american citizen to prevent from some of the redistricting

that goes on? you see that the ten plus million people in the 90 plus terrorists who had crossed our border in fiscal year 24 is all part of a design plan. it is not just fecklessness or ineptitude. and so we need president trump back in the white house. we need to return, remain in mexico. we need to ensure that ice has the authority and the power necessary to go in, regardless of any of these blue state sanctuary governors or their local sheriffs who refuse, as you know, unconstitutional sheriffs to work with ice and lead the largest deportation and then look at real immigration reform. look at reforming the anchor baby scenario, where one or both parents need to be american citizens for it to qualify. stop incentivizing them to come illegally, as governor newsom has with their $150,000 housing bailout. and let's get back to prioritizing america, americans and america first. yeah in brooklyn, new york, there's a new immigrant center that's all male, right? just feet away from a school. tom i mean, this

is, i believe, kamala harris when she says her principles have not changed. no. and look, this is so imperative that president trump win the next election because these ngos won't be getting billions of dollars. and these be people will be sitting in an ice bed, an ice facility at about $107 a night, rather than 500 bucks a night, and they'll be deported. so you know, president trump was. look, i worked for six presidents, starting with ronald reagan. president trump's success on the border is was unprecedented. what he did. illegal immigration had a 45 year low. illegal immigration was down 83 to 90%. joe biden and kamala harris are the first administration who came into office and unsecured, the most secure border in my lifetime. trump is going to win in december. we're going to secure that border, and we're going to protect americans and save lives. you know what? just enforce the law for goodness sake. that's what this administration will not has not do. and until you make a change
