one interview, like this precious little gift of accountability where she's actually having to answer questions. this one thing. one in 40 days. and a normal candidate who is confident in their positions, it would have been 40 interviews by now. but the fact that we're having to focus on it, that itself is an insult to every american, that this is the only one and by the way, this could-- you said the first. this could be the last. there's no reason that she'll do any more. on the interview itself. i thought that she came across as completely uninspiring and flat and somewhat boring and flaun floundering when it came to policy all over the place and including the first question, watch what she would do on day one. you would think that she would have that down and looking all over the place and didn't know what to say. the real point, what every american understands, the fact that she clearly in this interview revealed that she doesn't actually have strongly held beliefs or convictions
9:09 am
about anything. that's the terrifying thing because frankly, politicians, excuse me, running for office, they make all sorts of promises about all sorts of things and do their best to implement them, but the real thing you're doing when you elect a president is someone who is going to respond to unpredictable future events and you need to know how they think and what's the way they'll respond to things. we don't know what kamala harris thinks about things because she doesn't know. she just says what ever is politically expedient at the time and is incredibly risky to put someone as weak ago unprincipled as that in the oval office. >> you know, she's headed off to pennsylvania along with president biden on this trip and in one of other answers there in that interview when she was asked specifically about fracking as you mention one of the topics she's had sort after evolution, she pointed back to 2020 saying, you know, i said i was for it then. in reality she laid that at the feet of joe biden who will be joining her in pennsylvania where fracking is very

important. what do you make of her trying to, you know, essentially have that cake, eat it, too, and now when she goes to the place where fracking is such a great issue, she's bringing president biden with her. >> well, it's exactly as you said, that she's trying to have it all different ways. because also in that interview, she's giving a wink to her far left and saying my values haven't changed and specifically on the broader issue connected with fracking which is her climate policy, she didn't back off that in any way at all, when it came to the general question. she said yes, we have to stick to our timetables and meet the goals, all of those things, the timetables and goals those are the things that are driving the far left policies, banning fracking, banning gas stoves, and the rest of it. all of those are driven by the timetables that she set and she is says she's not going to change them. i don't know why anyone should believe her when she says she's

sorts of leaders, including in places you wouldn't expect. like even in the u.k., certainly in france we've seen that. but the underlying point, i'm afraid we have to accept, just as we believe in national sovereignty here in america, we would never tolerate a foreign company, a foreign government, anyone else, try to interfere in how we do things here, and then in the same way while we may condemn these sorts of actions in brazil or france or u.k., anywhere else, in the end they run their country just like we want to run our country. so, we can complain about it and we can campaign against it, but in the end, it's their decision. >> and you know, it's a fascinating development. i'm sure there are concerns here as well as far as free speech and open platforms and steve, thank you so much and we're glad you're available today and able to come on with all of these topics, steve hilton, thank you. >> it's a pleasure, molly, thank you. griff: a former resident at a

come through our border, give fake asylum claims and go into the city of aurora, springfield, ohio, places all over my state is totally and utterly unacceptable. they've actually went, as you may know, and flew planes to venezuela, picked up these prisoners and brought them to us at our expense. you can't even imagine how absolutely disgusting and corrupt our government can be to do something like that to america. it's treasonous and on november 5th we've got the get these democrats out of power and sanity to our government. griff: let's mention, for the flights. it's known as the chnv programs. and they figured that would be better than having them come through illegally to bring them in.

in one horrific case, a venezuelan cory alvarez, raped a teenager in a massachusetts hotel and the program was paused because it was rife with fraud. but they're restarting it, they announced, this week. do you think that's is a good idea and why would the administration in your estimation restart this program knowing we have threats out there with the screening process as well as the situations with the gangs trying to take a foothold? >> this is absolutely peak lunacy. the fact that the united states taxpayers. we have middle class that are suffering and seniors that are suffering, record high inflation, what is the government under president biden, vice-president harris and sherrod brown do, the planes, venezuelan government think it's christmas and taking their prisoners and loading them on planes, to our cities,

house them, feed them, take care of them. go to the hospital and get worldclass health care, get free food, a luxury hotel in new york, this is what our taxpayers dollars are used for? now, look, this is the issue of this election. the democrats can try everything they want to distract us, but this is what they're doing to this country. like i said earlier, it is a violation of their basic oath of office, which is to protect america. griff: bernie, if you saw vice-president harris' interview on cnn this week, the one thing that came up was the senate border bill that failed. here is what harris had to say about that. >> ask any community in america that has been devastated by fentanyl what passing that bill would have done to address their concern and the pain that they've experienced. >> so you would push that legislation again. >> not only push it, i will make sure that it comes to my desk and i would sign it.
9:18 am
griff: so if you were to win the senate seat and the bill came back, would you vote for that or against it? >> that particular bill is a total disgrace, it allowed 5,000 illegal incursions into the country per day. by the way, a very similar way for the viewers to understand this. under president trump we had the safest and securest border in history, why because of 94 executive orders that is should have been passed through congress, but congress refused to do it. joe biden and kamala harris reversed all of those executive orders, waited three and a half years, realized they created an absolute invasion at our southern border and we lost operational control of this country and now they're starting to put some of the things back. that bill, first of all, kamala harris never even read it. i don't know that she could read 395 pages. i did. the bill is a total disgrace. it is a political stunt to get them off the hook. griff: bernie, before we run out of time i want to get to one other topic and that is

abortion and you saw and perhaps in our reporting from david spunt here a moment ago, former president trump voting no on the amendment in florida to allow abortions past six weeks. although, president trump says he doesn't support the six-week ban in place because he believes it should be extended further. do you agree with his decision? where do you come down? >> yeah, i think he's right. this is mostly a states issue. look at the end of the day we're not going to be changing laws in washington d.c., we're going to be changing hearts and minds. >> we have to get unity around this issue. reality is democrats don't care about women. they only like the political issue of abortion. if they cared about issue they wouldn't have men playing in women's sports, wouldn't have young girls in locker rooms with young men. they like the politics. issue. we're going to bring the country together and get some common sense things around having increasing our birth

if she's elected president this november. for more on that, let's bring in the president of the marks group, jean marks. thank you for offering your expertise on saturday on a holiday weekend. what did you make of vice-president kamala harris in this much-awaited interview and what she had to say about the economy. >> i'm still waiting as the rest of the country is waiting for details on what she's doing. she's talking in broad strokes as to what she wants to create and listen, that's what any politician is going to do, try and generate that optimism to get them to vote, but i need more details. right now, the details that are out there with the, you know, vice-president harris is that she's continuing a lot of president biden's policies and although i think investing in some areas, you know, is great. and what's caused inflation is a lot of government spending and hard on small businesses

around the country and consumers. and what she plans on doing as far as taxes, which is a huge bite to many of us, and right now, her policies, i think, are going to follow what president biden is proposing and i think that's a concern for a lot of voters. molly: yeah, she laid out some of the same things she said before, $25,000 home buyers, and child credits. she didn't get into detail where the money is coming from, how it's spent. the mechanisms behind the things that she's proposed. let's listen to one of the things she said and as you mentioned backed some of the things that the biden-harris administration did, including on inflation, take a listen. >> first of all we had to recover as an economy and we've done that. i'm very proud of the work that we've done that's brought inflation down to less than 3%. the work that we've done to cap the cost of insulin, $35 a month for seniors. donald trump said he was going to do a lot of things allowing

a payroll firm that does a monthly analysis of salary pay, it's up around 3% as well and a lot of people look at the inflation rate, not only dealing with higher costs which is a real concern and also our pay is barely keeping up with even the inflation that she's mentioning and i think that's a big struggle for a lot of people. so she needs to address that. the biggest issue about addressing that, molly, you know, government spending is what is causing inflation and unfortunately, if we have more programs that spend more money, i think that inflation is still going to be a big risk. molly: yeah, she's put some effort in to say i hear the american people on this issue, here is one of the latest political ads. >> families talk about their plans for the future, and they talk about how they're going to achieve them financially and prices are still too high. when i am elected president i will make it a top priority to bring down costs. molly: there you go see
9:37 am
highlighting the price gouging thing that she is suggested, but once again we don't know how exactly. your thoughts on this approach? >> well, the price gouging approach i'm not a big fan of. you know, i think that government controls over prices have shown throughout history that they never really do work. i mean, what a government should be doing, again, in my opinion, molly, is that they should be doing everything to make an economy more competitive. to provide more opportunities for businesses, because supply and demand will gauge the right level of prices. you know, governments themselves like to come in and impose regulations and employment regulations and other on businesses, environmental relllations, that increases costs and i mentioned earlier about taxes. i am very concerned as a c.p.a. about rising taxes that we could be seeing in the next couple of years and takes a giant bite not just out of consumers, but also out of corporations that, you know, it takes away money that they could be using to be that much more competitive and invest in
9:38 am
their businesses. molly: and every time progress is being made, there's something else like a surge in car insurance premiums. fox business says it could be up more than 50% in some states. what's going on with that? >> insurance rates have gone up significantly because the price of cars have gone up significantly. the auto industry has suffered through supply chain issues. there are more regulations in certain states like california, illinois, new york, which is also increasing the cost for insurers to operate and as usual, they're passing their prices down on consumers. let me give you guys some advice, okay, you could be seeing a significant increase in your auto insurance rates this year, but you don't have to just take that increase. more than 50% of consumers don't really negotiate or do anything with their auto bill. maybe you're the same as me, but you get the insurance rate increase you pay it you move on. you should be asking your insurance agency for competitive rates. you should be going on to online sites and looking at competitive rates for your auto insurance as well and you should be really closely looking at the cost of
9:39 am
insurance on the coverage that you're getting because in some cases, it might be too much for what you need. so although rates are going up, i want to tell of you guys watching, there's something we can do as consumers and business owners to keep them under control. and that's what we should be doing before the end of the year. molly: gene marks, you probably saved somebody money, maybe me. i know, right? me, too. thank you for coming in. >> thanks, molly. take care. griff: molly, a doctor charged in connection with matthew perry's death making his first appearance in court yesterday where the judge allowed him to remain free on bond with several restrictions. christina coleman is live following the details. may, christina. >> hi, griff. dr. mark chavez made his first appearance in court in downtown l.a., agreed to plead guilty earlier this morning. he's one of the five charged in this case.
