>> we haven't seen that in a while. yeah. all right. new at 11. crab season is being delayed again by the state because of migrating whales off the coast. and in the northern part of the state. recreational crabbing is back on hold. also but this is because of poor meat quality. the earliest the season could begin is now the middle of december. this is the fifth consecutive year crab season is being delayed because of migrating whales. the fear is that they'll get caught up, of course, in the fishing lines and they want to protect them. the fda is now keeping a close watch on cinnamon imports. that's because of a growing number of illnesses reported in children from lead tainted applesauce. the fda is screening imports from a number of countries for toxic lead contamination. officials believe the likely source of the high levels of lead in the cinnamon is from a manufacture era in ecuador. the recalled fruit products include pouches of wanna banana apple, cinnamon fruit puree and schnucks and weis brand cinnamon applesauce is one lake tahoe ski

seeing some pretty good rainfall right now. a nice soaking is coming, as you will notice, off the coastline. there's still quite a bit of moisture here all the way out here. and look what's showing up southwest of monterey. some thunderstorms, as a matter of fact. the weather service is keeping close tabs on this just in case this turns out to be even more. the area of low pressure is just off the coast line and it's heading towards us, which is why the activity has been picking up. we have an unstable air mass in place, thunderstorm prediction center is saying there's a pretty good likelihood of thunderstorms through tomorrow for most of california, which includes us. all right. last 24 hours, here's how much rain we have gotten, 60/700 of an inch in kentfield, a third of an inch in san francisco, sfo, three hundredths in san jose, a third of an inch at the oakland airport, 20/200. napa, a quarter of an inch there in santa rosa and a little more in ben lomond. your temperatures right now in the 50s and 60s with the south wind it is pretty mild. it's raining at blue canyon but the rain that you're

seeing in the mountains right now is going to switch over to snow. we're already seeing some of that snow south of tioga pass . winter weather advisory will be going up for that area tomorrow for the sierra nevada by sunday, we're talking about six inches of snow at kirkwood, two inches at donner. that winter weather advisory begins at 4 p.m. tomorrow, runs until sunday morning. several inches above 6500ft, up to a foot for the peaks with those gusty winds, travel will be very difficult. carry the chains if you are going up and if you're hitting the roadways, definitely watch out. golden gate bridge is wet. widespread rain overnight with thunder, scattered showers. tomorrow afternoon. we're looking at a dry pattern. warmer days next week. it's a level one on our storm impact scale for tonight. tomorrow, rain, heavy at times, thunderstorms gusty winds. and watch out for more minor roadway flooding. winds picking up 40 miles an hour along the coast. at 1:00 in the morning, you will notice still gusty winds at 4 a.m. as that low approaches. and then behind the system, winds switch
