college football regular season rapidly coming to a close. san jose state fighting for bowl eligibility. we'll have their highlights against san diego state tonight at 11. but let's start with our toyota. let's go places player of the day. and it's redshirt freshman quarterback cal zone fernando mendoza starting his first big game. and fernando feeling good in his sixth start. remember, he started the season on the depth chart. third string, showing his toughness in this game took a hard hit in the head and kept on playing. he throws for 294

ooze some conflicting weather conditions today in the bay area. >> san rafael got a good soaking. the north bay received the brunt of today's rain while there were moments of pure sun and clear sky in san jose. but the gray and slick weather stuck around all day today in san francisco. thank you for joining us. i'm j.r. stone. big question tonight, will we get another soaking on sunday? spencer christian has been researching that all day. he's been tracking the rain on live doppler seven spencer. well, the quick to answer your question, j.r, is not likely. >> here's a look at live doppler seven. you can see that showers are beginning to wind down right now even as we speak. just some widely scattered light showers. we still are ranking the system level one on the exclusive abc

seven storm impact scale. we expect the scattered showers and the gusty wind out of the west northwest to continue for a while, but probably will wind down by midnight. here's the forecast animation. notice going into the later hours after ten after 11 p.m, almost nothing falling from the sky and clouds will be partying as well. i'll have a look at what lies ahead. lots of sunshine a little bit later, j.r. >> i'd love to hear it. thanks so much, spencer. downpours overnight were heavy at times as there was considerable rainfall in the north bay where some events were cut short. abc seven news reporter cornell bernard tells us thanks to the storm. one fire department is closing the books on this year's peak wildfire fire season. >> heavy rain overnight drenching parts of santa rosa for hours. this person was braving the elements on a bike. the storm making for some dangerous roadway conditions in san francisco. this tree limbs snapped off, falling on a parked car near leavenworth and bush streets, blocking the intersection for a time when the

sun came up, the rain was still falling. what do you think of the rain? i'm enjoying it, actually. >> i'm enjoying all of the rain. >> it was a super challenging morning drive for cameron ferris , who commutes from american canyon to san rafael. >> it was a little misty, i will say. >> it was a little misty. i had to turn those windshield wipers on pretty high. >> all right, 3 to 1 and you guys around the annual thanksgiving kayak race through the canals of san rafael went on despite the rain. >> but the race hosted by 101 surf sports had to be shortened and fewer people took part because of the weather. it probably only cost us about ten people, but we still had 33 hardy people come out and race rainfall totals were impressive in sonoma county overnight. >> the city got about an inch and a half of rain. >> wet weather has produced wildfire danger. so much in santa rosa. the fire department declared an end to the 2023 wildfire season this week.

five days. there are believed to be 239 hostages held by hamas, and the deal does not include military personnel or men. the release could begin within the next several days. a pause in fighting would allow for much needed human petarian relief to get into gaza. we'll be right back

own ranks on the exclusive abc seven storm impact scale level one. so for the next few hours, we're talking about light scattered showers, gusty northwest winds, but rainfall totals under five hundredths of an inch. here's a forecast animation starting at 830 by 1030, 11:00, we'll see most of it out of here. certainly by midnight. we expect to even see some partial clearing in the skies. and as i mentioned, rainfall estimates, rainfall totals by midnight will be generally one two hundredths of an inch, except way up north where it'll be a little bit wetter right now, we're looking at gusty conditions out there at the surface, wind speeds up to 36mph at novato, 25mph in san francisco. and livermore. so all around the area right now it's quite breezy. here's a view from the exploratory camera here in san francisco. looking back at the skyline. 59 degrees in san francisco, 6061 at oakland. mountain view, low 60s at san jose and palo alto and 59 at half moon bay. nice view from

emeryville right now. looking along the bay bridge 57 at novato and santa rosa 59 at both napa and fairfield and at livermore as well. and concord 60 degrees and here's the view from our rooftop camera looking across the very breezy embarcadero light scattered showers ending by midnight, sunny and breezy tomorrow and we'll have sunny days ahead through thanksgiving. uh- for tonight as the skies clear early morning, low temperatures mainly in the mid to upper 40s. then tomorrow's highs under sunny skies. we haven't said that in a while. mainly low to mid 60s from bay to inland, so not much of a variation in the temperatures there tomorrow. here's the accuweather seven day forecast. not much change on monday either, but as you can see we've got seven sunny days ahead now. it's going to warm up a little bit in the middle of the week, tuesday, wednesday and thanksgiving day. we'll see inland highs in the upper 60s, mid to upper 60s around the bay shoreline. so very mild weather and of course dry for the entire week. but thanksgiving is looking great right now. and as we get into next weekend, even a little bit of a drop off in temperatures, but not very much.
