>> it's always been a big need to make sure that as people age their homes, age with them alongside and that they don't become unmanageable or uninhabitable. for some people, especially older adults living in dire situations with few options, we are one of the wealthiest counties in the world and we've got people going hungry, people who don't have decent shelter, but volunteers like barbara are working with rebuilding together silicon valley to provide those life changing services. in just two days this year, they were able to help over 40 homes with over 800 volunteer hours, fixing roofs, plumbing, providing wheelchair access, ice. just before veterans day, we were able to see them at work fixing the home of a 93 year old veteran in santa clara. >> this is something i won't forget either. i'll tell you, for volunteers, the work never ceases to feel rewarding to me. >> it's so exciting because this is helping the working poor. >> this day of giving the nonprofit hopes people will consider helping them continue their decades long work. >> every dollar that's given to us on giving tuesday goes to

4:18 pm
moving mainly into northern california down north. but we are going to get some beneficial rain from this system. so let's take a look at live doppler seven right now. and you can see that off shore, there are little pockets of showers approaching the coastline. they'll be moving inland during the early evening hours. right now, we're looking out over san francisco from sutro tower under clear skies, 60 degrees here in the city, 61 apiece at oakland mountain view, palo alto, 66 at san jose and 59 at half moon bay. and here's the view from emeryville looking toward the golden gate, you can see the skies getting a little bit cloudier right now, looking westward and northward, light rain and showers arrive this evening. showers continue through tomorrow morning and it'll be wet and a wet and unsettled pattern lingering into friday. now the approaching storm on the exclusive abc seven storm impact scale is a level one. a storm of light intensity, but it will be bringing periods of rain and showers to the bay area tonight overnight and into tomorrow. slick roads and breezy at times. so just bear that in mind. here's the forecast animation. starting at 530, those light showers will start
4:19 pm
to move into the north bay in the early evening hours and they will expand and hit other parts of the bay area going into the later night and overnight hours. and speaking of overnight, just before the morning commute begins, we'll see some steadier, heavier, more widespread rain pushing onshore. so it could be a very wet morning commute, but we don't expect the rain to last very late into the day by mid to late afternoon. it should be just about over. and rainfall totals will be generally under or under a 10th of an inch, but maybe a third or more at novato and down at ben lomond, about a quarter of an inch. so some locations will be pretty wet overnight, low temperatures will be mainly in the low well mainly in the mid to upper 40s actually. but the lower 40s will be in our inland areas, which will be our coolest areas as they generally are. highs tomorrow under partly cloudy afternoon skies when the rain has mainly ended will be in the low 60s. pretty much across the entire region. so a cooler than average day now looking farther ahead into the forecast future, thursday morning, we'll see more rain, light rain arriving snow in the sierra. that'll wind down and more rain coming in late
4:20 pm
friday into early saturday and more snow in the sierra. so this is an active and unsettled pattern. as i mentioned. here's the accuweather seven day forecast. so level one storms tomorrow and thursday and still a lingering chance of showers on friday morning. still unsettled on saturday. it's possible another shower could pop up on saturday. then on sunday, partly cloudy, a little bit brighter and then friday and saturday and going into early next week, we'll get a minor warm-up by a few degrees. >> wow. all right. keep your umbrella handy this week, right? >> yes. >> be ready for it. >> your jacket. >> yeah, that's true. jacket too. >> yeah. yeah. cold. >> well, we're talking about storms us this thursday. atlantic hurricane season comes to an end. and while the activity fell within predicted ranges, this was a near record year. the national oceanic atmospheric administrator says this year we had 20 named storms . that's the fourth most on record. the only names remaining on their list for this year are vince and whitney. if we get past z, i don't know what we do. we go back to the a's. i guess

4:50 pm
of that playoff series. but yes, the cowbell people probably back. it's going to be electric here at golden one. and kristen and larry, you both mentioned the two big headlines tonight. draymond green returns after that five game suspension for whatever we want to call that what it was against minnesota and the group play finale here in in season tournament play a lot of questions about that we'll go over that in a moment. draymond returned to team practice on sunday, got a little bit of him just kind of hanging out, talking to his buddy right there. the dubs went two and three in his absence. now, as far as the warriors trying to advance in the nba's brand new in-season tournament, this is the easiest way to break it down for you. the warriors need to win. absolutely. and then they get the easiest route. the thunder beat, the t-wolves and the warriors win. they're advancing to the quarterfinals. now, if the t wolves win and the warriors win, they'll be a three way tie breaker between minnesota, sacramento and golden state. the differential will be point difference. so basically, warriors blow out the sacramento kings tonight. they're all good long story short, it's going to be a fun night. interesting night here in sacramento. >> yeah, i think it'll be fun. a lot of fun. i think it will be a
4:51 pm
lot like game seven. you know, the atmosphere just the excitement, the angst. i think at the feeling that i'm expecting is that it'll feel like a game seven. >> you feel the energy of an in-season tournament game because of what it means. the court just it feels like a playoff type game at and we know we have to win to stay in it >> all right. so you heard steph say it. they need to win to stay in and try to get to the knockout round one more time. if the t wolves beat the i'm sorry, the thunder beat the t wolves, then that's really good news for the warriors. the other thing about this in season tournament, they have the new court. you see it behind me all kinds of different colorations. that's why they wanted to show this thing off here in the nba. they also have the rally towels tonight. so those will be waving. it's going to be loud here in golden one center. i'll
4:52 pm
be back at 6:00, top of the hour. and then again at sports. and i'm sure, larry, those cowbells will be back here in a couple of hours. people are just waiting to get ready for the warriors come to town. draymond green, it'll get loud in here when he gets introduce boost yeah he and domantas sabonis have kind of a thing going there but anyway you've got a couple of hours to find some earplugs chris enjoy we'll talk to you later. you got it. >> okay. one of the sharks is leaving the tank. billionaire mark cuban says he'll be leaving the popular abc show at the end of the season. season 16 next year. the owner of basketball's dallas mavericks says he loves the show because it, quote, sends the message the american dream is alive and well. well, it's so alive and well. >> he's actually selling majority share of the mavericks for 3.5 billion to the adelson family of las vegas. but he's still going to retain, you know, kind of over overseeing the franchise, the right to call the shots. >> got it. okay. overseeing our weather forecast. spencer, what do we have? >> well, we've got a little rain coming our way. it's a storm that ranks level one on the
4:53 pm
exclusive abc seven storm impact scale. we'll start to see some showers tonight, mainly in the north bay first and then spreading to all parts of the bay area overnight and by tomorrow morning, it's not going to be a soaking storm, but it's beneficial rain. here's the forecast animation showing the arrival of light rain in the early evening. and then steadier, heavier rain certainly overnight going into the morning commute, which could be quite wet and slippery. so bear that in mind if you're a morning commuter. and here's the accuweather seven day forecast. so wet start to the day tomorrow but we'll get a little bit of partial clearing in the afternoon followed by some more light showers on thursday that may continue into friday morning. so basically it's a week of unsettled weather larry and kristen, thank you. >> spencer, the santa season is here and the closets are back. i love what i do here we go. >> come on. >> a look ahead at the new season of the santa clauses coming up
