are up with one reading san francisco welcomes immigrants. the other new york city welcomes immigrants. the message is clear, but the intent is not a little known. group called sanctuary cities says it is behind the signs and its website suggests sanctuary cities have ample services to help undocumented immigrants. the group has not responded to questions about these billboards . >> okay, time to get a check on our weather and what's happening outside a foggy again today. >> meteorologist sandhya patel is back with the full forecast. sandhya. >> yeah, it was this morning, that's for sure. pretty thick like pea soup, but dan and i going to show you those temperatures this afternoon had a nice recovery considering how foggy it was. i mean, look at san jose, 71 degrees today. 72 was the high in santa cruz. got up into the upper 60s from livermore to oakland to napa, 65 degrees in half moon bay. all

right, changes are ahead. cooler weather tomorrow as we are tracking an atmospheric river that has been just slamming the pacific northwest. they've not only seen a lot of rain and flooding concerns, but the rain is falling on top of snow and that is causing all kinds of issues there. more rain coming their way. we're going to see some rain as well as the system gets closer. it's been kicking up the surf beach hazard statement is in effect until 7 p.m. tonight. wave heights right now, 9 to 13ft. that beach hazard statement until 4 a.m. thursday for santa cruz county. now the thing is increased risk of sneaker waves will remain with us, particularly northwest facing beaches. this will get replaced by a high surf advisory at 7:00 tonight, going until 4:00 am on thursday as those breakers will build 18 to 22 footers and that of course, means dangerous conditions right now, live view, even though it looks stunning from santa cruz, camera never turn your back to the ocean. you will notice the waves are pretty rough out there. 50s and 60s on your

numbers. here's a live view from san jose camera in just a beautiful one. as the sun has set dense fog and patchy drizzle overnight. rain returns tomorrow. showers on thursday, colder nights and mornings for the end of the workweek. first thing out the door tomorrow morning, you'll want to allow yourself extra time. not only will we have dense fog, but we'll have some spotty drizzle like we did this morning. and then tomorrow afternoon, we're looking at basically breezy conditions, cooler weather, 50s and 60s on your high temperatures. it's a light level one storm for tomorrow. we are looking at widespread rain. brief downpours, breezy with the rough and dangerous surf. let's time it out for you. so tonight, the high clouds continue to stream in. we have the fog down below and tomorrow morning, we begin with quite a bit of fog. and once again, it will be dense, but the fog will get scoured out by this front. that's coming in 10 a.m. in the north bay by 1:00. you're looking at widespread rain across the region heading into 2:00 pm and then scattered showers as we go into the

afternoon and evening. but becoming more isolated in nature . here's a look at the rainfall projections with this system, most of you will be between 10th of an inch to a half an inch, but there will be some places in the rain shadow of the santa cruz mountains like san jose that only picks up a few hundredths of an inch in the mountains. it's a winter weather advisory for thursday from morning to night, up to a foot for the peaks with those gusty winds up to eight inches above 4000ft. count on slippery roads, possibly hazardous conditions. here's a look at the snowfall projections from tomorrow through thursday evening. this would be the first significant snow of the season, 21in there at donner tahoe, 11in kirkwood, 15in. we will take it. accuweather seven day forecast. it's a level one for tomorrow. another system quickly moves through on thursday. also a one that's scattered showers. hanukkah begins at sunset thursday and as you head out, make sure you grab a jacket because if you do celebrate, friday and saturday are going to be very cold in the morning with some frost. cool in the
