thousand other things they want reassurance. they want to know the adults are taking them seriously. >> one of the main topics of discussion for the board was bringing school resource officers back to campuses permanently. in 2020, officers were removed from santa rosa schools as part of an effort to confront racial biases in the criminal justice system. students at montgomery high school said their survey reveals they do want sros to return. would you be fine with any school resource officer, sro on campus? >> we had 89.2% yes and 10.8% no. if cops show up on campus weekly anyways, why not have them on campus? >> last thursday. santa rosa police say herbert slater middle school was put on lockdown after a student fight involved a kitchen knife. police said the incident was possibly gang related on friday and monday, teachers, students and parents rallied outside of santa rosa schools to show the board action is better than no action. this

week, the district brought police officers back to high schools leading up to winter break. on wednesday, emotions ran high during the school board meeting that extended until midnight, with more than 80 public comment. s where are the voices of students who feel so unsafe? >> i'm sorry, i'm not done. >> we currently do not know what an sro program tool may look like. we do not know what that tool may cost, but i do believe it is a collective responsibility to collaborate. >> lauren martinez, abc seven news. and as you heard lauren say, that meeting is still ongoing tonight. >> trustees said they would like to continue the conversation of school officers with city partners. we'll be sure to let you know what else develops tomorrow here on abc seven news and on abc seven news.com. >> well, in the east bay, another smelly situation tonight in richmond. people are reporting an odor coming from the point richmond area again.

fortunate, up to 120 meteors per hour, here's a look at what you can expect tomorrow. so in the morning there will be some high clouds, patchy fog, 30s 40s, filtered sunshine for the noontime hour. those temperatures coming up into the 60s, low to upper 60s, mild for most areas by 4 p.m. and then cooling with the clouds thickening as we head towards 7 p.m. i do have warmer weather on the way, and even then some wet weather and it's going to be a stretch of it. i'll be back with all those details coming up. >> the nba is suspending warriors star draymond green indefinitely after he smacked jusuf nurkic of the suns last night. so what exactly is it going to take to get draymond back on the court once again after being kicked out for more on this. we had to bring in abc seven sports director larry biel. so much talk about this in the sports world and beyond. what's your take. >> my take is i can't believe we're back here again talking about this. but the nba is making it really clear they're so tired of draymond's act. they're tying his return to conditions that the league and

the team will put in place. we don't know if that means anger management or what, but it's interesting. instead of saying you're out ten games and he's counting them down and so is the team. the nba is putting the burden on draymond to prove this is not going to happen again. and they're going to let him just twist in the wind in the meantime without giving them a specific deadline. well the nba is tired of the act. >> the question is obviously are the warriors you know after punching his teammate jordan poole last year to the chokehold suspension last month are the warriors still committed to draymond green? >> well they say they can't win a championship without him. maybe reluctantly committed. they gave him a four year $100 million extension this past summer. and to be honest i think the organization has enabled some of this behavior. draymond if you remember he was not even suspended after he punched. he was fined. but that wrecked the entire season for the warriors. and then they gave him 100 million change. >> the whole vibe of the team totally. all right before i let you go, one more major sports story to talk about. the giants lost out. as you've heard on the baseball superstar shohei ohtani, in part because of perceptions about the city of

san francisco, at least supposedly how legitimate larry is. that concern former giant star buster posey, who now is a part owner of the giants, claimed that san francisco's perception is as part of the dilemma here. >> this came from an article in the athletic written by andrew baggarly, and i talked with him tonight about posey's comments. >> he spoke really from the heart that, you know, there are perceptions out there that may outstrip reality for what's going on in the city and for what? uh, um, you know, the vibrancy of the city and he really wanted to try to correct that as best he could, uh, correct those perceptions and help people understand. look, this is an amazing place to play. this is an amazing fan base to play in front of. and the opportunity for someone to come here and make a difference. uh, you really feel that? >> i think it's a bit of a reach to suggest car breaking videos are causing players to say no to the giants. is it part of the overall conversation? sure. but these are multi-millionaires. they're going to live in gated communities, etc. it comes down to one money, two more money,

rosa tonight. so below this high cloud deck that you're seeing on live doppler seven, we do have some dense fog. it's just very patchy in santa rosa. we're not expecting a rerun of this morning with widespread fog and dense fog at that. here's a look at the wider picture. satellite radar high pressure in command of our weather. taking the storm track to our north. but it is going to become active over the pacific as we move into sunday and next week. coastal flood advisory is in effect once again for tomorrow, 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. watch out for low lying flooding . because of the high tide, it is going to peak just above six point at 6.64ft, exactly just above six feet past 11 a.m. and so that's when we're expecting a little bit of that minor coastal flooding, right now, temperatures in the 40s and the 50s. here's a look at the headlines. filtered sunshine tomorrow for the week ahead. we're basically looking at friday. saturday even warmer, nearing records sunday through the middle of next week. things

are really going to change. a wet pattern is going to set up, so get your rain gear ready because you're going to need it as early as sunday. your morning temperatures with the high cloud deck overhead and some patches of fog anywhere from the mid 30s to the upper 40s. as we head into the afternoon hours, it's going to be a nice looking day with temperatures in the upper 50s to the upper 60s. warmest spots will be in the southern part of our viewing area 68 in san jose, 69 in morgan hill. we're expecting a downsloping wind once again coming from the land towards the coast, and that's what's going to bring us the warmth for another day. now, when we look at the rainy season calendar, december is one of our wettest months, but we've only in san francisco had four days of measurable rain. departure is just over an inch. we need a lot more rain and it is coming. as we look at saturday night, our rain chances begin to increase, especially in the northern part of our viewing area. like mendocino county. but it's sunday, monday and tuesday that we have a higher likelihood of seeing that wet weather. so here
