a soggy start to the workweek and we have more rounds of rain coming our way. the timeline is straight ahead. >> the protesters were arrested for blocking the bay bridge last month. are starting to go to court. why one attorney representing the group says this

could be a lengthy process. plus hey hey hey hey, you stopped a moose in its tracks. >> well, this alaska woman says did the trick. >> building a better bay area moving forward, finding solutions. this is abc seven news and tonight's top story is told. >> best buy live doppler seven. you are looking at it right now. it is tracking today's storm and the wet weather is not over yet. good evening. >> i'm ama daetz and i'm dan ashley. thanks for joining us. we're focusing tonight on the wet weather experienced all around the bay area today. two people are dead and six others hurt, including children, after an suv went 20ft off southbound. 680 down an embankment. it happened near the sunol boulevard exit. this was about 230. this afternoon. authorities tell abc seven news a total of six adults and two children were inside this vehicle. the two people who died were both adults . two others were taken to the hospital, two more adults and the two children had minor injuries. the chp says rain

could have played a factor. >> drivers all around the bay area face tough conditions today . take a look at the amount of water on one on one northbound in san francisco. look at this. this is right near the junction with eastbound 80 now under the freeway. there was flooding. this was alemany boulevard at bayshore boulevard. the flooding impacted the southbound on ramp to 101 around 3:00. this afternoon, and it took hours for the situation to be resolved. thatrillionamp is now open, so we have more rain in the forecast for tomorrow. >> we do, and abc seven news meteorologist sandhya patel is tracking that for us. sandhya. >> yeah, and dan and ama tomorrow is not the only day that we have rain in the forecast. i'll show you what you can expect first thing. so let's look at live doppler seven. it is still an active scene right now. we're going to get you into street level radar where we are seeing some moderate pockets of rain right around windsor highway 101 mark west springs calistoga road. now some of the creeks, for example, mark west creek in sonoma county is forecast to reach uh- actual

action stage beginning wednesday afternoon. and that means low lying vineyards may flood. that is from the weather service. as we look at the east bay, richmond, berkeley, kensington, grizzly peak boulevard, you are getting wet. not uncommon to see more scenes of flooding. as you will notice, it is still a very soggy scene in the south bay from saratoga highway 85, heading across morgan hill into highway 101. and as we widen the picture here, it's not just one system, but there are two systems. so here's this first low that has been pushing the moisture in and started out stormy this morning. we've seen rain continue. here comes the next low. and that's why we are going to continue to need those umbrellas for several days. right now winds are gusting to 49 miles an hour. atlas peak 40. hawkeye 43. mount diablo, mount eminem 38 miles an hour as we go. hour by hour. light to moderate showers tonight, right between 10 and 11 p.m. you will notice that those showers are still with us as that commute to the early commute begins and it

is going to be off and on showers. it's a level one on our exclusive abc seven news storm impact scale tonight through wednesday. and not only those scattered showers, gusty winds, slight possibility of thunder and more flooding on the roadways, i'll be back with a full look at the forecast and rainfall coming right up. dan okay sandy, thanks a lot. >> power outages have happened sporadically around the bay area today. we would expect that in these conditions. here's a look at p-g-and-e's map of current outages. as you can see, the biggest outage right now is about affecting about 600 customers in berkeley. but as you look around this map, you see a dotted instances of all relatively minor outages at this point. now, the wet weather here and stormy conditions back east, i mean, a lot of delays at san francisco international airport. here's a live picture of sfo so far today. sfo reported delayed flights. there have been ten cancellations, so it was a messy day for air travel in the bay area, particularly out of sfo and bart. service is often

affected by wet weather. sometimes operators need to slow down trains for safety. right now, there are no service delays. however. shot from the sidewalk in downtown san francisco. >> this was just one of several throughout the city. heavy rainfall can make this happen when water rushes into sewer pipes too quickly and then traps air. this afternoon's rain was just too much for some roof gutters in san francisco. check it out. it's a look at one building near the embarcadero that started spewing water from its drains and its downspout. and it wasn't just rain today, wind as well, that brought down trees and branches. this one was cleaned up early this afternoon on fillmore street in san francisco in daly city. >> street flooding briefly shut down roads near 88th street and washington street. the water got close to homes, but started going down and receding once the drains were cleared to the north bay. now people are getting ready for a very wet week, but there happy to see the rain. obviously we need it. abc seven news reporter cornell bernard

found some preparations happening today. >> heavy rain arrived monday morning, making driving pretty challenging on highway 101. in novato. clear up to the back roads of sonoma wine country. >> we are very happy to see the rain coming. it's been pretty dry. >> all eyes on the russian river right now. sonoma water officials say it's flowing at about 400 cubic feet per second. but later this week it could be running 25 times that. it's why this rubber dam near forestville is being deflated because it could be damaged in order to avoid that damage, we need to lower the dam, let it sit on the bottom of the river and let all the water pass right over the top of it. we found this landscape restoration crew working to prevent flooding and erosion near this vineyard on waller road. >> we put in all this rock here to prevent this bank from sloughing down, washing off. um, we put in all this fabric that's

on the adjacent side of the of the stream in petaluma. >> rain didn't stop folks from having lunch outside under covered parklets. yasmin onate was just trying to keep her dog cargo dry. >> i forgot his raincoat. i'm being a bad mom right now, but he's still warm. >> marin county fire department posted on its advising folks to avoid non-essential travel during the peak of the storm. the department says marin is expecting an estimated total of around five inches of rain between now and wednesday. the department also says with the first big winter storm, it's a good time to check flashlights and generators ahead of possible winter storms. and don't forget those sandbags free sand and sandbags available here at the santa rosa corporation yard all season in santa rosa. cornell, bernard abc seven news, san francisco is offering free sandbags to people whose homes might flood. >> a distribution is open from 8 a.m. until 2 p.m. every day through saturday. it's at the

operations yard for public works . bring proof of your address. residents can get up to ten sandbags at no charge. >> and don't forget, you can check out the abc seven bay area app for the latest on weather conditions and to access the same doppler seven radar. sandhya and our weather team uses search abc seven bay area in your device's app store to download it. >> some new details tonight involving the protesters who shut down the bay bridge last month calling for a cease fire in gaza. a total of 80 people face charges in connection with the protest, which shut down the bay bridge for hours during the apec summit in november. those arrested are charged with five misdemeanors today. the first 17 protesters faced a judge and they were not alone. abc seven news reporter luz pena found a crowd of supporters and the occupation now. >> hundreds rallied outside of san francisco's hall of justice, urging the district attorney to change her mind as the first group of protesters went in front of a judge. we say, ta da! >> jenkins dropped the charges

against our beloved 78 out of the 80 facing charges, the group's attorney says two of them are bystanders who were arrested by officers that were not part of the protest. >> all of this could have been prevented if these elected officials called for a cease fire. so people do what they feel like they need to do out of desperation. >> emily rose johns is part of the legal team representing the 80. >> i think the da has been trying to send a message for a long time that she is a law and order district attorney, unlike her predecessors, i don't believe that charges like this really demonstrate that, and i don't believe that they're going to get her the support that she wants from a city and county that largely overwhelmed. she supports a cease fire. the 80 are facing five misdemeanor counts for unlawful public assembly, refusing to disperse, refusing to comply with a peace officer, obstruction of street, sidewalk or other place open to the public and false imprisonment for blocking

traffic for hours. >> a charge this group viewed as extreme. >> we've had other shutdowns, towns that have never resulted in charges as outrageous as false imprisonment, although just a misdemeanor. it is, of course, uh- it carries with it a specific sense different than the other charges. in a statement, san francisco's district attorney said while we must protect avenues for free speech, the exercise of free speech cannot compromise public safety. >> but this group says the da's response doesn't represent san francisco. >> this is a city that that welcomes justice and welcomes calls for justice. and i'm hopeful also because you know, 66% of americans are heeding the exact same call of those bay bridge protesters. and that is for a cease fire. >> the da's office confirmed that another two by standers were taken by officers during the protest on the bridge, and those two bystanders got their

charges dropped in the newsroom. luz pena, abc seven news. >> san jose police have made an arrest in a fraud case that's cost victims more than $1 million. officers with the financial crimes unit seized guns, drugs and jewelry when taking 30 year old john mahoney into custody. he's the prime suspect in a crime ring responsible for passing fake checks and money orders. mahoney was arrested after a warrant was served at his home. officers say they also found altered money orders and about 600 fraudulent checks at the home. >> happening tomorrow an iconic san francisco business closed for months, will open its doors again just in time for christmas. the bakery was forced to close after a fire in august. the north beach staple has been around since 1911, and it's famous for its focaccia. the sorokko family says they're grateful to be opening their doors once again. they say christmas eve is the busiest day of the year for them. >> coming up next, we have our first idea of a possible timeline on draymond green's suspension. what does the nba

(bright upbeat music) rain has subsided somewhat, but it's still raining out there, just not as heavily as it was earlier. but more is coming in the north bay. this is how it looked for drivers this afternoon on 101. take a look at this. treacherous conditions. not too bad going through petaluma though. windshield wipers were needed, but roads were awfully slick around the bay area. >> a pedestrian was killed after a hit and run on lewelling boulevard in san leandro early

this morning. police arrived on the scene and discovered a woman lying in the middle of the road, suffering from severe injuries. once medical personnel arrived, the woman had died. police were able to locate the driver in the parking lot of a nearby business, possibly intoxicated. the driver was booked for dui, vehicular manslaughter and felony hit and run, and a man was stabbed this morning in front of the safeway in half moon bay. police say what started as an argument to the parking lot ended with one of the men being stabbed. the suspect took off by bus, but police were able to catch up and take him into custody. the two men were described as homeless and police confiscated nearby tents. after the incident. >> now to developing news. el cerrito police are searching for a missing woman, alex herman has not been seen in santa cruz on december third was the last time she was spotted. no one has heard from her since abc seven news reporter ryan curry spoke with her very worried family. >> police throughout northern california are searching for this woman. alice herman has been missing for over two weeks.

her family says she didn't show up for work one day and didn't return any texts or calls. >> we have not heard back from her. we couldn't get ahold of her and, um, we actually were starting to get worried about it. piecing together that she hadn't been in contact for some other inquiries that we had. >> alice, who also goes by alex, is supposed to be in hawaii right now visiting her family when they could notrillioneach her, they called police. we had pieced together on our own that the last communication we heard from her was approximately the 2nd of december, which is a while. >> it wasn't just like a day or two, and that was extremely unusual from our perspective. >> police say they have enough information to investigate this as a homicide, and they say herman was last at a paddling event in santa cruz before going missing. they're looking for her and theo lengyel, an ex-boyfriend and person of interest. his el cerrito home has boarded up windows and doors. the curtains are closed. police say they found herman's car abandoned on the street in front of lengyel's home. they say he has not been cooperating

and he possibly fled north to oregon. >> theodora lengyel, um, was in capitola around the time of her disappearance and came back to el cerrito and then from el cerrito, traveled to portland, oregon by car. >> if anyone has seen these cars , police want to hear from you, herman drove a red toyota and lengyel, an old ford pickup. we're trying to determine where he may have gone in that time frame, with the hope of finding some clue about where alice is at. police say he might still be in the bay area since they are investigating this as a homicide. they want to speak with lengyel soon. >> people have seen him come in contact with him. we really want to know what the context is for that as well. >> the herman family is not losing hope of finding alex. >> we're worried at the same time, we're trying to remain hopeful, um, for a good outcome in el cerrito. >> ryan curry abc seven news warrior. is forward jeremaine green won't be back on the court this week following his altercation with phenix suns center yousef nurkic.

>> nbc insider shams charania reports that draymond has begun counseling and is expected that he will be sidelined for at least three weeks. and with green out for at least the next 12 games, the warriors will need to work around his absence from the court with a new rotation. people close to green say he understands the situation and is prepared to do what's necessary to return to the court full time. earlier today, abc seven news anchor karina nova talked about the competitive and emotional world of sports with doctor francesco dandekar, the associate director of sports psychiatry at stanford university. here's what he had to say about what's considered playing aggressively versus being out of line. >> in football, if you hit someone when the ball is not live, then, then now it's considered not. it's not okay anymore, right? the aggression is fine as long as the ball is in play. and now that it's not, it's not fine. um, so we're kind of setting the lines, um, you know, we being people who support the sport, we being people who govern the sport, who set the rules. um, so out of

hill road into san jose across highway 87, you can see pretty wet weather across san rafael and san anselmo. this is really street level radar. lake view, lakeview highway, sears point across 37 and some of those showers in the east bay have started to move on. it is raining up in the sierra, but the highest elevations above 8000ft have seen a few flurries. now here's a look at the satellite and the radar. here's what's going on. we have a south wind, which is why it's feeling so muggy. it's certainly warmer than it was yesterday. at this time. this area of low pressure will continue to lift out of here. so secondary low is coming our way. so we're going to keep it on the wet side for several more days. right now along the coastline, winds are gusting to 29 miles an hour in novato 22. so if you are noticing that it's a little gusty around your area, you're not imagining things. let's take a look at the rainfall totals. since sunday, we have gotten a good soaking across many parts of the bay area over two inches in santa rosa, over an inch of rain there

in san francisco, oakland almost that. look at this. 8500 in concord, over an inch in napa, 6200 san jose. no rain shadow effect here. ben loman picking up more than two inches of rain as the mountains lift that moisture. so here's what you need to know. storm concerns tonight and tomorrow. standing water on roadways, localized flooding. medium to high likelihood power outages. we're already seeing them and that is still a possibility with sierra snow going up into the moderate category or medium category as we head into tomorrow. so right now here's a look at those temperatures. 60 in san francisco, 59 in oakland. i mean these are like high temperatures that you would expect. but no, these are correct. 62 in san jose and 59 in half moon bay. our golden gate bridge camera is a slippery view. upper 50s santa rosa, petaluma, right now it is 60 in napa and 61 degrees in livermore. here are your forecast headlines through tonight. showers breezy conditions tomorrow through thursday. periods of rain and

the weekend will feature cold mornings and plenty of sun as we have a change in seasons coming our way this week, a level one for tonight through wednesday. scattered showers, gusty thunder chance, minor roadway flooding, the best possibility of thunderstorms and it's a slight chance will be tomorrow going into wednesday. so let's talk about the winds hour by hour tonight. winds will continue to ramp up and gust at times 25 to almost 30 miles. an hour later on tonight as well. and then the winds will back off as your commute begins. but it's still going to be on the breezy side well into tomorrow afternoon. an hour by hour. the rainfall light to moderate showers. 10 p.m. we head into tomorrow morning's commute. watch out for wetrillionoadways. visibility will be poor across parts of the bay area, and so give yourself that extra time. you'll need it 4:00 tomorrow. just off and on. showers. this is not going to be a completely all day wet day, but we will see periods of wet weather then that secondary low comes in and wednesday morning you start to notice some heavier

returns. the rainfall expected to just kind of skirt the coastline. now the heaviest rain is expected to be near the coast and over the higher terrain. rainfall taking you through wednesday morning and the showers are going to last longer than that. some of the wetter spots in the north bay and along the coast, 2 to 3in. but you get out towards the inland east bay and it's about a third to a half an inch of rain. your morning temperatures will be in the 40s and 50s pretty much a mild start and a muggy one tomorrow afternoon. keep those umbrellas handy. we do have temperatures in the 50s and 60s with some periods of showers. accuweather seven day forecast. those scattered showers with us tuesday, wednesday, thunder, chance and then winter begins thursday evening. we'll dry it out for you just in time for the weekend. and then christmas. maybe a little drizzle ama and dan, but it doesn't look like we'll have to worry about stormy weather. >> getting a new banana seat bike every time you see that i got a new one. >> oh, new one. okay, okay, i

all right. you can see exactly where today's storm is right now with live doppler seven. it's been tracking the rain all day long because this storm has affected really the entire bay area on the peninsula. >> the rain started overnight. check out the puddles forming near hillsdale mall in the east bay in the early morning hours. water was coming over the edge of a freeway. look at that. this is the westbound side of 80 above fifth street in oakland. and in the north bay. >> the rain was also coming down hard overnight well before dawn. this video was a shot in rohnert park, finally to the south bay with a live look at san jose mineta international airport. fewer than 50 flights were delayed today, and not a single flight was canceled. not the case at sfo, however, where there were lots of delays and our weather certainly mild compared to the severe conditions, thousands of people across the country are facing.

>> southwest airlines will pay a record $140 million fine for last year's holiday travel meltdown. more than 2 million passengers were stranded when a winter storm froze southwest's operations in denver and chicago. it snowballed from there when a crew scheduling system couldn't keep up with the chaos. u.s. transportation secretary pete buttigieg says this fine sets a new standard and level of accountability. >> this means that passengers will be protected. what we're doing here is sending a message to the entire airline industry. you need to take care of your passengers, and if you don't, there will be consequences. we will hold you accountable. >> southwest said in a statement. quote we are pleased that we reached an agreement with the prioritizes our customers. southwest will pay $35 million to the federal government. it will also establish a $90 million system to compensate those directly affected. that includes a $75 flight credit to any passenger whose flight is delayed more than three hours. when it's the

airline's fault. >> a player in the nba, g league, is in custody charged with murder. chance comanche played for the stockton kings, a team affiliated with the sacramento kings. he was let go after being arrested. now he faces extradition to las vegas. reporter kayla patterson explains what led to his arrest. friends of marina rogers were on a desperate hunt for her whereabouts on december seventh. >> that's when police say they filed a missing persons report for her. police say rogers was in las vegas visiting friends on december 5th, and had planned to meet with sakari hardin, who brought chance comanche along with her. it's the same day comanche played with the stockton kings at the dollar loan center in henderson, according to the team's schedule, her friends posting online that rogers had not been seen alive since her meeting with the suspects in her last track location was on cactus avenue until it went blank. determined to find rogers, her friends organized a gofundme to hire a private investigator, but it was too late. lvmpd said they

detected foul play and gathered enough evidence to arrest comanche and hardin for rogers kidnaping. a week from her disappearance, hardin was arrested in las vegas and booked into the clark county detention center for kidnaping. just days after that, comanche was arrested by california fbi agents in sacramento and is pending extradition in nevada, police said. with the information gathered from the suspects, they were able to recover human remains in a desert area in henderson that a coroner identified as marina rogers kelly patterson, reporting comanche, is due in court in las vegas tomorrow, so it's likely a driver was drunk last night when he crashed his car into president biden's motorcade. >> video captured not the crash, but the president's reaction to it. listen. president biden and the first

lady were leaving a staff dinner at his campaign headquarters in wilmington, delaware. wilmington police have charged the driver with driving a vehicle under the influence of alcohol and inattentive driving. they say the crash was an accident. the driver hit a parked secret service vehicle tomorrow, president biden will deliver a eulogy at the funeral of former supreme court justice sandra day o'connor. today. an honor guard carried her casket into the great hall of the supreme court, where her body will lie in repose. inside the building, members of the current court stood solemnly in honor of o'connor, who died on december first at age 93. she attended stanford and was the first woman appointed to the high court. known for being an unwavering voice of moderate conservatism. for more than two decades, marvel studios has dropped actor jonathan majors from all upcoming projects after he was found guilty on assault charges, a new york jury convicted him today of reckless assault and harassment of his ex-girlfriend, prosecutors say majors grabbed the woman's hand, twisted her arm behind her back and then hit

display after a week of earthquakes hit the area. the eruption began shortly after 10 p.m. local time and does not currently pose a threat to anyone. a village nearby was evacuated and roads around and the volcano area have been closed to traffic. this is the

fourth volcanic eruption in that area since 2021, and just spectacular. more than 100 people are reported dead after a 5.9 magnitude earthquake hit northwest china. more than 200 people injured. the quake damaged buildings and roads and knocked out power to the region. search and rescue operations are underway, however, temperatures in the mountainous area are expected to drop to five degrees, which of course will hamper the rescue efforts in a major announcement from the vatican, pope francis has formally outlined a process for catholic priests to bless same sex couples. the impact of this announcement is really resonating with gay catholics here in the bay area. here's abc seven news reporter dustin dawsey. >> the catholic church took a step toward a reality free from judgment for devout catholics. bob rucker and his husband, as well as same sex couples around the world. what does this mean for the catholic church right now? >> this is exceptionally good news. this is the best christmas

present and pre anniversary present for me and my husband. we've been waiting for decades to finally be recognized as followers of christ with no judgment by the leaders of the church, the vatican's doctrine office provided guidance for same sex couples to receive blessing without an exhaustive moral analysis, with a formal approval from pope francis, the doctrine saying in part, quote, ultimately, a blessing offers people a means to increase their trust in god. >> a radical change in vatican policy from a pope who has already shown affirmation towards the lgbt community in the catholic church. >> this church has ignored the fact that there are followers of christ that are lgbt, who love jesus and are not going to be pushed out of the church. time to embrace it and the pope is being strong about that. and that makes me ecstatic. >> but rucker admits that this is just a small step, as the document confirms, by reaffirming that marriage is a lifelong union between a man and a woman, and stating that the

blessing must not be tied to any specific catholic celebration or religious service. san francisco archbishop cordileone has been a vocal opponent of same sex marriage, and shared this statement with abc seven, saying, i encourage those who have questions to read the vatican declaration closely and in continuity with the church's unchanging teaching. doing so will enable one to understand how it encourages pastoral solicitude while maintaining fidelity to the lord jesus christ. change in the catholic church is often slow moving, but professor of christian social ethics at santa clara university, julie hanlon rubio, says the new doctrine highlights the idea that changes in societal norms can shape the church. >> i think that if we had the view of gay couples that we did 30 years ago, or that the official church did 30 years ago, this couldn't be happening. we have evolved with society more slowly, so we're better able to say, of course we welcome this. these couples for a blessing. >> dustin dawsey, abc seven news. >> happening tomorrow a highway

green there, and a view of one on one in san jose with plenty of moisture on the camera lens. >> for sure. and uh- firefighters in san jose and the foothills got a handle on a big house fire this afternoon. the smoke could be seen from interstate 680. it was a fire on crothers road near mount hamilton road. firefighters closed off the street for hours as they got the flames under control. one person has been displaced as a result of the damage, but thank goodness no one was hurt. an equipment problem on bart sent smoke through the 24th street station in san francisco, briefly shutting it down. that led to some major delays, of course, this morning, the station reopened about an hour later, and people got to where they were going but delayed. >> all right, so what can we

expect for our tuesday? >> yeah. how much wet weather will continue? meteorologist sandhya patel is back. >> sandra. yeah, we have a couple more days of this wet weather. and dan and i want to show you live doppler seven, because it is still an active scene. we are seeing a showers moving through the bay area. they're light to moderate in intensity as we get you into street level radar right around the peninsula. portola valley road, portola road. scuse me, woodside kenyatta road heading into redwood city across highway 101, rollins boulevard and rollins road in berlin. game. you know it is getting wet. if you're driving through any of these areas, give yourself that extra time in the south bay and across the santa cruz mountains, highway 17 can be dicey, and that is going to be the case again tonight. across highway 101 from san jose. all the way down to morgan hill, they are seeing showers and around discovery bay highway for byron area. you will notice some wet weather as well. byron highway going into the north bay right around our radar site. pope valley highway 29, middletown, calistoga. it is wet and so we

are looking at scattered showers to continue tomorrow morning. we will begin with some wetrillionoadways at commute time, and then at 11 a.m, you'll notice that there are only a few showers in the north bay. most of you are getting sort of a breather and then off and on showers for the evening commute. it's not going to be a widespread event, but this is just the next round as we're in between systems. wednesday looks like we're going to see some heavier rain fall, especially if that system gets closer to the coast now. tomorrow afternoon you're looking at high temperatures in the 50s, 60, pretty mild. the good news is, you know that we had some bad air quality over the weekend. and well, this rain has certainly cleaned out our air. we have greens for most of you, which is good air quality as far as our rain chances remain high even on wednesday, with a lingering chance of a few showers on thursday. if you're traveling, it's both coasts that are dealing with this stormy weather out west across the pacific northwest as well, and back east. you can clearly see that deep trough with all the

an example of building a better bay area. ucsf is expanding its bimonthly food pharmacy, where they hand out grocery his for food insecure patients. the idea here is that food really is medicine in many respects, a physician also gives healthy cooking lessons and nutrition advice on a monthly basis. doctor gina moreno, john started this resource a few years ago after seeing a need in the community. >> we found out in 2018 that about 1 in 4 of our patients doesn't have enough food to eat, so in 2019, we started this program called the food pharmacy. it's a food bank in clinic that really tries to center what the patients need so they can have food to get healthier and to reduce their stress. and, uh, you know, and concerns around budget as well. >> a new grant is helping to expand this service to all of ucsf's 11 primary care clinics in san francisco. >> it's been a day of giving in the south bay in san jose, volunteers made thousands of tamales for farmworkers in half moon bay. some learned how to

make tamales for the first time. for others, it's a family tradition. organizers say the annual event always turns into a party with conversation and music. >> today, we're making 2400 tamales to give to 200 farmworkers. on wednesday. and so, as you can see, all the people behind me are busy making tamales. we're going to be here till 6 p.m. tonight. um, make making thousands of somalis thousands. >> this was at saint john vianney church in san jose on wednesday. they donate all of the tamales to the farm worker caravan to give to agricultural workers on the coast and sacred heart community services has launched its annual holiday food box and gift distribution in san jose. >> the food boxes include a whole turkey produce, dairy, bread and more. some of the recipients say it just could not come at a better time. >> we live in one of the highest price counties in the united states, so most people that don't have very much income has have a hard place to find food,
