the african american heritage. >> los loved ones and ancestral roots in san francisco. the village project hosted its 17th annual kwanzaa celebration at san francisco city hall. family and friends enjoyed a day of live blues and jazz performances , dance speeches, and spoken word similar to the menorah in hanukkah. each night, a candle is lit on the kinara, representing one of the seven core principles of the culture. tonight's principal is umoja, which represents unity and down in los angeles, people came out to celebrate the 47th annual kwanzaa parade, hailed as the oldest kwanzaa parade in the world, today was the final day of kwanzaa, called imani, which translates to faith. >> we should celebrate kwanzaa because it's all about our culture coming together, moving unified, and with the vibration of this instrument. it draws us together.
1:27 am
la la. >> so we celebrate kwanzaa. you know, we because the unify our people, bringing them together, you know, as a whole. now kwanzaa as a whole runs from tonight all the way through january 1st. >> the final night of kwanzaa is called imani, which again translates to faith. >> all right, just a heads up. you may want to start taking down those christmas decorations tomorrow. the national weather service says the incoming wind gusts could topple trees and blow over outdoor furniture and displays like this. that means those inflatable santas or other decorations could be blown away if they're full of air or hung loosely. and i hope my neighbor a few doors down is watching tonight because he's got the coolest thing in his yard. he's got a dozen of these on his, and they're going to end up in your yard. >> yeah, yeah. >> or be very soggy with the forecast. >> exactly. yeah we're definitely going to see some rain now when you look at this satellite picture you can tell how tightly wound up this area of low pressure is. and it is not aiming for the bay area.
1:28 am
it's going to move to the north of us. but we've got a spokes of rain around it. some showers for your wednesday and then the high surf warning for thursday into friday. we also have a coastal flood advisory that's going to take us through early tomorrow afternoon. once again high tide seven to 7.5ft at 1046, allowing for some of the underpasses. the low lying areas here to have a little bit of flooding. so we have that and we have some warmer numbers. and really the full moon not visible tonight. we are at 51 in oakland, 46 in sonoma and due to all the cloud cover and those southerly winds on the way, we're not going to drop off to much. but upper elevations already feeling some breezy conditions. there's a big rock at 22 miles an hour. hawkeye 26 miles an hour, mount diablo about 20 miles an hour. the fog has been a concern for concord visibility down to two and a half miles. three miles in livermore as well as novato. so we are getting set for a return to the rain and wind. it won't be as cold overnight, and they're going to turn into
1:29 am
showers throughout the afternoon. so that means we're not going to see a lot of heavy downpours or widespread rain. it's a weak system. and then behind it we have those dangerous waves and the high surf warning. so here's a look at the morning lows. notice how mild in the 50s with those breezy winds and timing out the rain for you, you'll notice that in the morning it's in the north bay. could see a stray shower elsewhere. but as we get into about 3:00, you can see the spotty nature of the shower activity. you'll notice more wind than rain. then we get a break late on wednesday. thursday mostly dry. could be an isolated shower. and then friday you saw that looking at more wet weather. but it's going to take a minute to get here. this is 4:00 in the afternoon. this will be a slightly stronger system bringing a little bit more cold air to the sierra nevada. and that's some good news because this first system really not a whole lot of punch with it. we're talking about a 10th of an inch along the peninsula. 5/100 mountain view. you have to go way up to santa rosa to get anything pretty significant. 0.42 there. and perhaps a 10th
1:30 am
to 2/10 out by the delta. so in terms of the wind, we talked about that it's going to get stronger as the front moves on through throughout the morning and afternoon hours on wednesday. so we have that coastal wind advisory for the north bay. and then by about 1:00 it's breezy in the valleys and you definitely could see some of the lights or some of the santas inflated, drooling down the street or the garbage cans, because it is going to be a quite gusty day. snow not really an issue with this system at all, but as we get into the friday saturday system, that's a little colder so we could pick up maybe a half a foot. it certainly isn't much. the snow has been bleak in the mountains. we need more, but these next two systems not really too promising for that. so highs tomorrow with the windy conditions and the spotty rain showers will be in the 50s to the low 60s, and the accuweather seven day forecast looking at that level one system tomorrow break with an isolated shower on thursday. rain and
