motorcycle, looking for another friend's house late at night in rural upstate new york. she was the passenger in one of the cars that mistakenly drove up kevin monahan's driveway. his lawyer says monahan felt threatened by the group and fired a warning shot in the air, but then stumbled and tripped, accidentally shooting another round that hit gillis. >> the photo from the prosecution from the police wasn't clear enough to show you the area where he stumbled and fell, but you know this can happen. >> but it took the jury less than two hours to find monahan guilty of second degree murder, reckless endangering, and tampering with physical evidence . gillis family did not speak publicly after the verdict, but previously said she was a victim of circumstance. just trying to visit her friend who lived only a half mile down the road. >> my daughter was an honor student. she had hopes and dreams of becoming a. she had hopes and dreams of becoming a marine biologist or a

morning, three popular payment apps are on notice. >> two taps and someone's life savings could be gone. >> a district attorney in new york is now pushing venmo, zelle and cash app to take action to protect consumers, citing the risk for fraud. that's draining bank accounts of giant sums of money. also a concern more users are being robbed. >> it's not just the money is important, but also it's people's physical safety. >> in a letter to the company's da, alvin bragg warns of a troubling rise in illegal behavior because of what he says are insufficient security measures, leaving users of the apps vulnerable. >> while there aren't common sense fixes, we're going to see more of these cases, he says. >> as the apps have surged in popularity, so too have frauds and scams. he's pushing the apps to add multi-factor authentication, limit the amount of money users can send, and impose wait times on larger transfers. another potential
