move forward. >> now, recall organizers plan to begin gathering signatures next month. they have to submit signatures from about 25,000 registered voters to get this recall on the ballot. speaking of crime, there's a new effort to revive an old partnership to help crack down on these ongoing trends in the east bay. abc seven news reporter anser hassan spoke to the mayor of berkeley. >> crime is an issue that doesn't stop at one city's borders or one county's borders. this is a regional challenge. >> that challenge runs along the i-80 corridor from richmond to berkeley, down through the rest of alameda county, says berkeley mayor jesse arreguin. >> organized retail theft, for example. what happens in emeryville or oakland impacts berkeley. it impacts richmond, uh, and while our law enforcement agencies work together, there's definitely an opportunity for more collaboration. mayor aragon led a meeting on friday to resurrect the east bay public safety corridor, an initiative from the 1990s formed to combat crime.
9:15 am
>> it roughly encompasses richmond down to fremont along the i-80 and 8-80 corridors. mayors supervisors, and law enforcement agencies from both alameda and contra costa counties, along with the fbi and bart, were on hand for this opening round of discussions. aragon hopes collaboration will lead to more data sharing and more uniform policies. different cities have no chase policies, and so say, you know, one one law enforcement agencies chasing somebody who's engaged in serial retail theft through one city. >> and then when they go to another city, it doesn't have a no chase policy. it makes it hard to coordinate and to and to hold people accountable. >> crime doesn't see boundaries. >> alameda police chief nishant joshi took part in the meeting. he says local law enforcement already works collaboratively, but, he adds, uniting with city and county government can improve those efforts while law enforcement is one resource source, we want to force multiply with all the resources that can have an impact on public safety, mayor aragon says. public safety isn't just

about more policing, but also strengthening violence prevention and tackling mental health issues, he adds. working as a region may prove more powerful. in sacramento, i think, rather than us all launching our own things, working together, we we're going to be more effective and probably more competitive at being able to draw down state and federal resources, a more formal partnership will be announced in the coming weeks. in the east bay anser hassan abc seven news. all right. >> it's 915, taking a live look now at the roundabout along highway 89 right here in tahoe city. you can see traffic very light this morning. this area getting a break from the snow. but a milder trend is on the way in the region. we get some of those days ahead of us with that warmer temperatures. lisa, i'm thinking about all those ponchos last week for the niners game. and then this week they're going to get ice cold beers, huh? >> yeah. that's right. and not having all those layers for sure. in fact, it's going to be warm. santa clara is going to be one of the warmest locations tomorrow. 15 degrees above
9:17 am
average. and it gets even warmer in that stadium there. so we're talking maybe mid and upper 70s for tailgating and then low 70s as the game starts, and then some 60s when it wraps up. here's a look at live doppler seven where you can see some rain far to the north. and some of this is going to sink to the south later on tonight you can see all the cloud cover from our east bay hills. camera top vollmer peak is 55, in san francisco and oakland with 56 in hayward. good morning, san jose 53 for you. and here's a look at the cloudy sky in the south bay with temperatures in the upper 40s. santa rosa, it's been awfully foggy here. a half mile visibility for much of the morning. 55 in concord and a look outside the city view there. lots of gray skies, so cloudy skies. looks like we could see a line of showers move in around midnight tonight. not dropping much in the way of precipitation, maybe a couple hundredths. and then we get into a warmer day as high pressure builds quickly for your sunday, it's going to be sunnier and
9:18 am
that's going to bring the temperatures up a boost with some more 70s or widespread 70s. and then mid to late week next week is when we're going to see some pretty good rain. several hours of rain, several days of rain where this system kind of falls apart somewhat as you see as it moves in 9:00 tonight, there could be a few scattered showers this is our high resolution model and then by midnight 1:00, looks like we could get a little rain there. but overall the amounts. like i said, anywhere from a couple hundredths across the bay. and this takes us through 6:00 sunday morning. and that's when the high pressure ridge builds in. the clouds scatter out and we get a bit of an offshore flow, and we're left with this low 70s in the north bay, 73 in danville sunday afternoon highs. you can see some of the oranges here with upper 70s from san jose, san benito county, very mild. a few more clouds for monday, but still very nice. mid and upper 60s. tuesday is the day we'll get into much cooler weather with more clouds. upper 50s to the north bay and then
9:19 am
those south winds are going to come back. it's going to be gusty and we're going to see some pretty heavy rain come wednesday. thursday stopping this into next week, monday. and once again we're talking a couple of inches of rain coastal hills, santa cruz mountains, maybe the north bay. so really a 180 from the next few days to the second half of the workweek, 66 in fremont, upper 60s in san jose, and the accuweather seven day forecast. a cloudy day today , showers perhaps overnight tonight and then record warmth tomorrow for the niners. mid 70s down there and looking at partly cloudy. still mild on monday. showers overnight on tuesday with more cloud cover. level two system wednesday and then looks like the rain could linger not only into the end of the week, perhaps next weekend. so those breaks are key that we've been having in between so we can absorb those several inches of rain in some spots and more to come. >> yeah. thank you lisa. well with a trip to the super bowl on the line, what would the 40 niners do without receiver deebo
