tomorrow. abc seven news at six starts right now. >> building a better bay area moving forward, finding solutions. this is abc seven news. let's go. we got this guy who yes, we do taming the lions. >> the stakes are high at levi stadium right now as the 40 niners try to fend off detroit for the nfc championship title. on the line that trip to the super bowl. good evening and thanks for joining us, everybody . i'm dionne lim, the top seeded 40 niners are enjoying the home field advantage against detroit. the winner of tonight's game will take on the kansas city chiefs in the super bowl in las vegas on february 11th. now, niners fans were fired up for today's matchup well before kickoff. the red and gold filled the parking lot at levi's stadium hours before the gates opened for today's game, with temperatures in the 70s, 40

niners faithful have been tailgating all afternoon, and we came across some dance parties in the parking lot. >> it's going to be a blowout. niners blowout. three touchdowns, three touchdowns. you heard it first. >> confidence. wow >> this is a five super bowl winning hat with this hat on. >> good things will happen. >> yeah except it didn't work in new orleans against the ravens. but that's okay. we're changing the luck today. so the first time i've worn it since that day. >> what's on the menu today. well we have detroit style ribs and cornbread. >> we always have a sacrificial meal. >> you heard the news of debo playing this week. you were like, i got to wear this jersey. >> i did, i did, i did i love you, debo. >> i love that sacrificial meal. two tickets were in hot demand for this game. as you can imagine. we spoke with one couple from michigan who told us they paid $1,100 a ticket and that did not include their airfare out here. now while fans are watching the field, police, they say they'll be watching the fans. santa clara pd posted a warning on x saying they will

not tolerate offensive, profane or threatening behavior in the stands and it may lead to ejection or arrest. they are also getting into the game, but as you can see, not taking sides . the department posted this photo of police chief patrick niccolai in several uniforms, including the niners and oh goodness, the lions. santa clara pd says it has plain clothes. officers in both teams jerseys on the lookout for bad behavior. now 40 niners fans are gathering in all parts of the bay area to cheer on the team, with one win to go to get to the super bowl. abc seven news reporter cornell bernard is live in san francisco at one official watch party. look at you hanging that towel and flying it around in the air. cornell. >> dan, grab your rally towel because they are certainly doing their job. the game is tied up in the third quarter. the tide definitely changing for the 40 niners. and the fans here at

street closus in t mission district to tell you about the city, says the streets you see here may be shut down from 530 till ten, or until the streets clear. the areas between 24th street, between potrero and valencia, and mission street between cesar chavez and 21st. those closures are in anticipation of, of course, possible street celebrations by 40 niners fans. all right. game day is looking great when it comes to the weather. taking a live look outside where you can see it is dark but definitely clear. abc seven news weather anchor spencer christian standing by with a look at our unseen seasonably high temperatures, which will continue to. >> it is pretty warm out there. diane it was 72 degrees at kickoff time around 330 this afternoon, and we were expecting , well, the possibility of some record highs for today. san jose tied the record high for this date at 72 degrees. originally set back in 1928 when i was a mere lad. let's take a look at our 24 hour temperature changes 2 to 5 degrees warmer in most bay area locations than at this time yesterday. currently still

pretty mild, but not anywhere near the peak of our warming, which occurred about an hour and a half ago. so 65 degrees in san jose right now, seven degrees down from the high of 72 and 65 up in santa rosa, 66 here in san francisco. quite mild then all around the bay area. and these are our forecast headlines. more springlike warmth tomorrow. but our weather is going to take a dramatic change by midweek. i'll have all the details on that in my accuweather seven day forecast in a few minutes dion. >> all right. sounds good spencer. thank you. well moving on family members and friends continue to push for justice after the deadly assault of an elderly san francisco man. today, members of the justice for vicha ratanapakdee foundation held a memorial in the victim's honor at the asian art museum in san francisco. tuesday marks three years since he was fatally knocked to the ground outside his home in the anza vista neighborhood. that attack was captured on video. today's event also included a panel discussion about combating violence against asian americans . >> not only do we want to know

that attacks have happened, but we want to know what happened after, why? why do some of these prosecute, take so long? >> a 21 year old daly city man is charged with killing the elderly immigrant from thailand, but family members and supporters have grown frustrated as the case has stalled in court. despite demands from the victim's family. the case was not charged as a racially motivated hate crime. >> lil salah, ahmed salah um, in an act of unity and solidarity, activists held a vigil for peace in the middle east at san francisco's embarcadero plaza. >> different groups came together to call for a ceasefire and an end to u.s. military aid, as well as to mourn all those lost on both sides. they had israelis and palestinians speaking. protesters held signs saying war has no winners, and from the river to the sea, only peace will set us free. well, much more to come, including a

join us. guy this weekend. us regulators grounded all max nines after a door plug broke off in alaska airlines flight from portland to ontario, california back on january 5th. alaska airlines returned its boeing 737 max nine fleet to service on friday. the airline's chief operating officer sat in the seat closest to the door plug at sfo. the first alaska airlines max nine flights since the grounding arrived last night. some passengers weren't even aware they flew on a max nine. >> i'm so glad i didn't know. >> would you not have flown if you did? um i, i probably would have flown anyway, but i might have researched it more.

>> united airlines resumed flying max nines on saturday. rite aid will close 16 stores in california, including one in the bay area. the rite aid, located at murietta boulevard in livermore, is planning to shut down last october. you may remember the pharmacy and retailer filed chapter 11 bankruptcy and announced it would close nearly 200 locations. the closures are part of a restructuring plan to help the retailer recover. just ahead, there is uncertainty over a law banning guns in public places in california. we'll hear from a local sheriff about what's next for the department as the future of the law hangs in the balance. and once again, a live look outside where? yes we enjoyed a pretty mild day. spencer will let us know exactly how long these spring. like temperatures will last. and niners taking on the lions right now for a trip to the super bowl. we have abc seven news sports director larry beil there. and he spoke with niners.

>> this is weather we love getting back to. we have another day like this tomorrow, dion, but it won't be with us very long. here's a look at the looping image of live doppler seven and the satellite. you can see just a few high clouds passing over the bay area right now. it's an otherwise clear sky and will be that way overnight. and the wind is really calm with wind speeds not only under ten miles per hour, but under five miles per hour just about everywhere. so let's move along and take a look at the 24 hour temperature change two to about six degrees warmer in most locations than at this time yesterday. so these are our current temperature readings. well, i skipped right ahead to the headline, so why not. they're important to uh- tomorrow. more springlike warmth is coming our way with increasing clouds on tuesday in advance of our next storm, which will arrive on wednesday and wednesday through friday, we expect rainy weather and sharply cooler weather, so be prepared for that. here's our overnight forecast animation showing the passage of a few high clouds, then clear skies take us into the morning hours and it's going to be a nice bright and sunny day again tomorrow with temperatures way above average for this time of the year. but

again, that will last only one day before the changes come overnight. low temperatures will be mainly in the mid to upper 40s and inland areas 50 at napa, upper 40s at antioch down in the south bay. look for lows of 52 at san jose, 52 at morgan hill, 50 here at san francisco and across the bay at oakland. highs tomorrow 66 degrees at half moon bay, san francisco 67. up in the north bay, some low 70s. napa 7072 at santa rosa. over in the inland east. bay 69 at concord. 68 at antioch. down in the south bay. mid 60s at morgan. mid 70s rather at morgan hill and san jose. so much like today. now, as we look ahead with the futurecast, you can see starting tomorrow morning that we have clear skies for one more day. then the clouds start to roll in tomorrow evening. on tuesday the clouds get even thicker and more widespread, and early wednesday we can expect our next storm to roll into the bay area, bringing periods of heavy downpours, possibly some localized flooding and low lying areas. and of course, it's going to be windy with that storm as well. here's the accuweather seven day forecast. the increasing clouds i talked about on tuesday. you can see right here. then on
