florida. >> authorities have been combing through the wreckage of a mobile home park set ablaze after the crash last night. >> that plane just crashed into a building here overnight, authorities confirming multiple people were killed after a small plane crashed into this mobile home park in clearwater, florida. >> is there anybody else in this house? >> no. i think massive flames pouring out of the homes. firefighters rushing people to safety. get back around 7 p.m. the single engine plane radioing mayday to the clearwater saint pete airport, reporting engine failure before disappearing from the radar. about three miles north of the runway, the site of that mobile home park. >> we heard a loud noise, which we thought was like a motorcycle going by and then a few seconds later, there was a big boom. shook the house, shook the windows. we went around the corner. we could see the flames shooting like 50ft in the air with a big plume of smoke. it didn't even look like there was a house left there. >> firefighters rushing to the scene, finding four mobile homes on fire. the plane lodged inside

punch. and frankly, my first instinct was to keep it private. 1 in 8 american men will get prostate cancer. 1 in 6 black men will get it. so you can count on me to set a better example on this issue today and for the rest of my life, austin's actions are under investigation on capitol hill and at the pentagon. >> we turn now to jennifer crumbly, the woman whose son fatally shot four students at his michigan high school. she's on trial for manslaughter, accused of ignoring her son's pleas for help. she took the stand yesterday and said there's nothing she would have done differently. here's abc's andrea fujii jennifer crumbly, the first mother in the u.s. to be charged in a school shooting committed by a child, took the stand and defended her parenting skills. >> you never would think you have to protect your child from harming somebody else. >> that's what. that's what blew my mind. i was just that was the hardest thing i had to stomach

is that my child harmed and killed other people. >> she and her husband are accused of making a gun accessible at their home and ignoring their son. ethan's mental health needs. but crumbly says she didn't think her son needed help, despite the prosecution pointing to ethan's journal, which included entries like my parents don't listen to me and i have zero help for my mental health problems, and it's causing me to shoot up the school. >> did you ever believe that your son needed mental health treatment, therapy, counseling, anything? >> no. i mean, there's a couple of times where ethan had expressed anxiety over taking tests. um anxiety about what he was going to do for after high school, whether it was college or military. so he expressed those those concerns to me. um but not not to a level where i felt he needed to go see a psychiatrist. >> did you ever deny him or say, no, i'm not going to take you to

a mental health professional? did he ever ask, you know, crumbly denied having a role in buying or storing the gun and shifted responsibility to her husband, adding, i don't think i'm a failure as a parent. >> the day of the shooting, staff at the school met with the crumbleys and were shown a picture ethan had drawn of a gun with the words the thoughts won't stop, help me. the world is dead. my life is useless. his parents declined to take him home that day. crumbly says she thought it would be better for him to stay at school. he later used a gun from his backpack to fire at students. >> as i've asked myself if i would done anything differently, and i wouldn't have. >> if you could change what happened, would you? >> oh, absolutely. i wish he would have killed us instead, prosecutors will cross-examine jennifer crumbly this morning. >> her husband goes on trial next month. andrew allison andrea. >> thank you. turning now to the weather, california is preparing for another big storm this weekend. officials opened the

waterway to this dam north of sacramento, trying to limit flood damage. and in southern california, flooding closed some roads, especially around long beach. let's check your friday forecast. >> good morning. our southwestern storm is making progress east and we're going to see some gusty strong thunderstorms in oklahoma and texas late friday afternoon into the evening. at night, those storms move east through the gulf coast, and by sunday we'll have some disruptive thunderstorms in florida. but then we turn our attention back to the southwest. look at this. another stronger storm moves into california and the west late saturday night through sunday and into monday. we're going to see between 8 and 12in of rain in the foothills north of l.a. and multiple feet of snow in the sierra. i'm meteorologist jeff cornish. coming up, a country music star under arrest in a drug case. >> also ahead, the outrage after migrants accused of attacking these new york police officers

morning america. >> houston, we have a problem. what's being called an accidental release of fire suppression foam caused this mess at bush intercontinental airport, crews are trying to keep the chemicals from seeping into nearby waterways. hootie and the blowfish founder darius rucker has been arrested. >> police near nashville say the singer was booked on misdemeanor drug possession charges. it's unclear what led to the arrest, but rucker was also cited for expired registration, suggesting he was pulled over by police. >> new details overnight about the group of migrants accused in a vicious attack on police officers in new york's times square. some of the suspects, released without bail.

authorities in new york are searching for more suspects, most believed to be asylum seekers, in connection with this attack on two new york city police officers. the officers were patrolling outside a migrant shelter when a scuffle broke out. the group of migrants kicking and punching the officers, running off with their phones. >> reprehensible cowards. >> you want to know why our cops are getting assaulted and there's no consequences, and we must change this end of story. >> six people have been arrested , but police believe at least 13 were involved. new york's governor was asked whether the suspects should be deported. >> get them all and send them back. you don't. you don't touch our police officers. you don't touch anybody. >> and this morning, outrage is growing over why several of the suspects were set free without bail. a authorities are investigating whether four of them then hopped a bus to

california using fake names. the new york mayor's office furious. >> it's an absolute abomination. but they should not be back out on the street. based upon what they did. >> the city has struggled to cope with the arrival of nearly 200,000 asylum seekers in the last two years. police say arrest warrants have been issued for more than 100 migrants for various crimes. but activists warn against penalizing an entire population of migrants legally in the u.s. seeking asylum. the officers were not seriously injured in that attack . >> all star tight end for baltimore ravens is being hailed a hero for his actions on a cross country flight. mark andrews was flying to phenix when another passenger suffered a medical emergency. a doctor and nurse tried to help, and andrews, who has diabetes, offered his testing kit, suggesting her blood sugar might be low. and it was, and she recovered in time to walk off the flight. andrews called the flight crew, the doctor and the nurse. the real heroes

cancer causing toxin, from five of the rail cars. hundreds of people had to be evacuated from their homes, and now, one year later, many are still afraid to return. >> i don't feel comfortable going back home. i'm still hearing all the people that went back home, that regret going back home. >> dozens of families were relocated to hotels, paid for by norfolk southern, but that program runs out next week. the epa insists the air and tap water is safe, but some residents aren't buying it now. >> i've had a migraine almost the entire duration since the derailment, krista graves lives just over a mile from the derailment site. >> she says the smell of chemicals still permeates her home, and says she recently found chemical sheens in her basement. and then there's wayne and lori o'connell. after the derailment, they both tested positive for vinyl chloride. weeks later, wayne was diagnosed with breast cancer. >> wayne, do you think your breast cancer is linked to that derailment? >> i can't say for sure, but it seems awful coincidental.
