9:19 am
all right, now to this from a horse in kentucky. this could be one of the most interesting super bowl predictions that we have seen so far, given that it's not a team that was chosen. you can see this horse is picking taylor swift, but he was eating from the bucket and he had all three choices. the chiefs, the niners. and you see there he picked taylor. so there's a lot of hype over the pop star as we've been reporting. and her expected appearance at the big game to watch her boyfriend travis kelce and the chiefs take on the niners today. now, earlier in the show, we had a tiger pick the niners. i like that prediction better. there is a lot of predicting going on ahead of the big game. of course, and the niners are favored to win according to espn. so lisa hopefully that 29 year championship drought is put to an end. >>eah, i would think so. we're due right? yeah, definitely. and there's got to be some, uh, swifty niner fans. so we've got that going for us too. all
9:20 am
right. uh, this afternoon we're getting into more sunshine. this morning, it's cloudy inland. will be in the low 60s to upper 50s by about 5:00. and around the bay shore about the same very mild once again. and by the evening hours, the clouds will be back with us. but if you're at the coast, one of the cooler locations. speaking of cool, we have got the clouds. there's a weak system to the north of us. uh- moving in the fog, the low clouds and the high clouds. so those will sweep on out of here. we have a couple of dry days and then we're going to get into this, which is a lot of rain and wind. that's going to come our way. really. not until the end of the workweek. we're going to have chances of showers, but that's later in the week. here's a look at the cloud cover from the north bay. there's more sun in the east bay this is all going to sweep on through and we'll see a nice afternoon. but as we look at pier 39, no body is there. well i guess there's a few guys out there. it is 50 san francisco and oakland, 51, in hayward, san mateo at 59. as you look at these temperatures, these are the cooler numbers
9:21 am
with the cloud cover. so we're only in the low to mid 40s here. kind of chilly. santa rosa 44 by the delta 45 in concord. there's a look at mount cam and the low clouds really rushed in this morning. we've got light winds. we've got high clouds. so with the low clouds this morning we'll transition into the high clouds. and more sunshine throughout the afternoon. and then looking at some showers, return as early as wednesday into thursday, very light. and then things really switch up into friday and next weekend. here's a look at what you can expect today. so the clouds will clear the north bay by about 11 12:00. and then you'll notice they'll sweep on throughout the rest of the bay area. the second half of the day. then we'll get into a nice afternoon and looking at more dry weather to sunday and monday and here's a look at wednesday. the precip accumulation is going to be light a quarter to a third of an inch. and we'll get into thursday where we're going to add to that. so we're maybe about up to a half inch level one systems both wednesday and thursday. and then look at
9:22 am
friday we get to about an inch of rain in the north bay. still not that big of a deal, but as we get into saturday, we're already up to four inches three and four inches north and south into the bay. and we're looking at more rain sunday, monday and tuesday, so hopefully you can prepare for that while enjoying the day to day. or maybe put it off a couple days. upper 50s for you in oakland, 60, in palo alto tonight with more clouds in the 40s and the accuweather seven day forecast looking at this cool morning, a milder afternoon with some sun, partly cloudy. more clouds arrive on tuesday. level one system for valentine's day. very light showers wednesday. thursday and then picking up a bit on friday and into the weekend. so pretty messy next weekend. and yeah, we can prepare for that. stephanie. do you own a house you just need out of quickly or just needs costly repairs? >> no worries. jump bys, bay

9:25 am
>> taking another live look at allegiant stadium in las vegas this morning, excitement, as you can imagine, is through the roof for both the game and ushers highly anticipated super bowl halftime show. and of course, his special guests appearance. abc news reporter morgan norwood has the details. yeah, yeah, it's the highly anticipated super bowl halftime show that has everyone talking. >> and this morning it's just hours away. my gosh. r&b icon usher crashing his final rehearsals, getting ready to hit the stage for a history making, 15 minute performance. and he won't do it alone. 20 years after its release. it's a yeah. whether this hit will be on the set list, but fans are speculating on whether rapper lil jon and ludacris will be among usher's special guest. but the big mystery still remains will justin bieber surprise everyone and perform with his longtime mentor while usher has given no hints of who will
9:26 am
actually be with him on stage, he did confirm there will be some familiar faces. >> i decided to have, like features on songs that became hit records, so that, um, that gave me the greatest point of reference. >> the super bowl halftime shows are known for being iconic from the king of pops 1993 performance at the rose bowl in pasadena. rocking the superdome in new orleans and delivering a moving tribute to the victims of the september 11th attacks in 2002. well, i swease on me in 2007, prince belting out purple rain in the pouring rain, purple rain, purple rain, that's all right, some crazy rain and beyonce brought an electrifying performance in 2013 at the mercedes-benz superdome in new orleans that included a destiny's child reunion and a medley of her top hits, all the

9:30 am
morning, so it's low clouds right now. high clouds when they begin to peel back and then a sunny afternoon. right now it is 50 in the city as well as oakland, 51, in hayward, san mateo, 54, half moon bay. and for marx, 40 camera. yeah, awfully gray out there with low 40s chilly conditions from the north bay into our inland valleys. and we are colder due to that. the cloud cover and a little bit breezy out there. 2 to 5 degrees chillier. but this is the plan. watch how the clouds get swept away from the north bay. the first part of the day we're in the mid 50s. then we're in the upper 60s. or i should say we wish right upper 50s to lower 60s by three 4:00 in the afternoon. so a nice looking sunday out there. we're going to stay dry for several days before we bring back the umbrellas and do a little storm prep as we check out my seven day outlook coming up, stephanie. >> all right lisa thank you. well, this morning we have a special guest on this super bowl sunday pro football hall of famer ronnie lott, a 40 niners legend who back in the day also
9:31 am
happened to play for the chiefs. lott was a first round pick in the 1981 nfl draft and spent the first ten of his 14 seasons in the league, playing for san francisco. he's also, might i add, a four time super bowl champion and considered one of the best safeties to ever play the game. ronnie, thank you so much for joining us this morning. >> thank you, thank you. how are you? >> i'm well. i see you got your usc shirt on. i got my usc shirt on. >> i got the trophy in the back. i got the ring on. i'm just trying to make sure that i got all the mojo right. >> oh, i love it. i love it all. well, it's not just any game day waking up to a super bowl hits different, right? you of all people know what that feels like. what do you think is going through the minds of brock purdy, christian mccaffrey, coach shanahan and the rest of the team this morning? >> i think what's going through their mind right now is they're trying to find a way to figure out the best thing that they can do. i mean, i think one of the
9:32 am
great things about preparing for the super bowl is that you don't try to do more. you try to do less. and the reason you try to do less is that you just want to focus on the game. you want to focus on the things that you want to try to execute on. and that's really, you know, the essence of the game is being able to be at your best and trying to be able to go out and impose your will on that team or on that person, or that situation. and i think what we're going to see here is a lot of guys imposing their will. >> yeah. gosh. and keeping that mindset. you know coach shanahan articulated this week exactly why he trusts brock purdy and his words. he says he's the perfect balance of aggressive thrower. but still getting the ball to the right spot on good and bad plays. what do you think will be the biggest challenge for brock going up against the chiefs defense? >> i think the biggest challenge for him is just making the right decision. i mean, coach said that he can make great decisions , which i think he's been able to do, that. it's just making
9:33 am
sure that he is able to get and make the right decision. i think one of the hardest parts in playing sports is making good decisions. not and not only good decisions, but great decisions, especially in a game like this. and i think that if he doesn't turn the ball over and they're able to kind of make great decisions, they're able to move the chains, they're able to get a lot of first downs. yes, this could be his day and not only his day, but maybe an mvp. uh- and that split second moment, too, right. >> we hope to see that. what about for the niners defense facing patrick mahomes. >> well that's the that's the problem i mean that's the problem for even me. and the reason i say this the problem is that that's how great he is. and when you have a great quarterback, the one thing that you got to try to do is you're trying to contain them. if you think about joe montana, one of the great things that that the new york giants would do is they they try to contain them. and so
9:34 am
what you try to do with a great quarterback like this is you try to contain him. you don't want to give up any long passes, but what you really want to do, if you can bait them into getting maybe 1 or 2 picks, that's what you can, uh, you know, count on. and for me, what i think is that they're going to get 1 or 2 picks and that's going to be the difference in this game. now let's turn to you, ronnie, in your ten years with the niners, you've helped the team win eight division titles and four super bowls. >> what do you wish you would have known going into that first game, and was one of the championships more meaningful or special to you than the others? and why? >> well, first of all, when you when you think about winning a super bowl in in in looking back, my rookie year and being around that group of guys and being around and guys that you didn't know and all of a sudden those guys now are some of my best friends, some of the people that i spent a lot of time with, guys that i i'm literally
9:35 am
calling or spending time talking to him about. and so you go from 1981 having no relationships, trying to make the team, and then all of a sudden, here you are in the super bowl as a rookie. and i can assure you, um, the best part of that moment was when we went down and we went down in the parade, and as we were turning the corner, i was like, there's no going, it's not going to be anybody there. they're not showing up. this is, this is and it felt like the whole world had showed up on mission street and, and mission boulevard. and i was sitting there looking at all of this, saying to myself, i can't believe it. it was just unbelie. and so i'm hoping for these guys that they get that same experience, that they're able to turn that corner or see that parade, have of an incredible day with all the city officials and more importantly, all the niners fans. it's going to be
9:36 am
awesome. >> so much to be proud of. certainly. um, we have been hearing a lot about the niners 29 year nfl championship game drought almost since you were there, ronnie. so a win today would make history for the team. tying with the patriots and the steelers for the most wins in nfl history. what message do you have for the niners and all of their fans today? >> well, first of all, i mean, when you think about being in this situation, my message would be make sure you take it. no life is about finding ways to impose your will, finding ways to be able to go out and take it. and the hardest part in life, sometimes is making sure that you overcome any situation that's in front of you. and brock purdy has been the testament of that this year. and i think that when we see him and if he's able to do what i think
9:37 am
he's capable of doing, taking this game, controlling this game, yeah, this is going to be great for all 40 niners fans. >> now, the vegas oddsmakers project a close game with a niners win. what's your final score prediction. >> well i got to keep that in my head. >> and the reason i got to keep that in my head is that what i don't want anybody there is walk up to me and say hey, you know what i bet on you. >> and by the way, you said you think the score is going to be this. so i will keep that in my head. oh so the secret's still out. >> well, but we're all thinking the niners win. yeah, there's no question about it matters. >> yes, that's all that matters. >> exactly. all right, ronnie, before we go, i have to say it. bang, bang, boom boom niner game. right. that's what all the fans say. we appreciate you joining us this morning. thank you. so much for your time. thank you very much. >> and you know what? go niners. >> go niners. that's right. well
9:38 am
still ahead on abc seven mornings we have abc seven news reporter zach fuentes standing by in las vegas with a faithful love story. >> hi, everyone, and welcome. if you or someone you know were injured in an accident, that was not your fault, listen up. >> we have legal professionals standing by to tell you how much your case is potentially worth. so, tom, tell the viewers watching at home who should call in right now. >> well, gina, anyone who's been injured in an accident that was not your fault should give us a call. right now. we have live agents available to answer any questions you have. they'll tell you if you have a case and how much is potentially worth. >> thanks, tom. you heard it. folks. call now at sutter. >> our five cardiac specialty centers never stop innovating. 22 cancer centers. never stop pioneering hope. 26,000 new arrivals never stop delivering

9:41 am
why don't we just go ahead and take a look now at how that couple, faithful to the niners, vowed once again to stay faithful to one another. the venue is set. the details in place, and the celebrity guests have already arrived. well, there aren't too many people who can say that they had 40 niners players at their wedding vow renewal ceremony. but for one couple with some roots in the bay area, that's exactly what they got. so that ceremony is going to start here soon. brock. nick, you ready? here comes the bride marching straight to the groom to the new 40 niners anthem. do it for the bay. flanked by brock purdy and nick bosa, the couple are ready for the ref slash officiant to help them renew their vows, promising to love one another through the best of circumstances through championship years, championship years and the absolute worst circumstances and those that we don't make the playoffs and those that we don't link up with. the vows renewed, the celebration begins. crackheads love for the 40 niners runs deep. >> so i'm born and raised here
9:42 am
with my father. he's from oakland, but he wasn't a raider fan. >> he was a niner fan, which was cool. i was happy about that. so i grew up niners fan whole life. and then when i met this young lady right here, she didn't have a team at all. >> they've been married since 2022 and knew that now was the time to solidify their love for one another. 40 niners style. >> this is the best time to do it. the first ever super bowl here in vegas. we're we're history. we're going down in history with this. you know can't nobody take this claim from us. this is us painstaking details were put into the wedding gazebo at the flamingo hotel and casino. >> the team there making all of this happen with just four days notice. thankfully they had a head start because we did have another team member here that was a huge 40 niners fan. >> so she had a bunch of stuff that she helped bring in so that we could set everything up and have it perfect for them. >> officiant wanda tracy is no stranger to thousands of unique vegas wedding requests that have sometimes had to be declined. >> someone wanted me to be a topless elvis for the wedding. >> this assignment that she did accept will likely be one of her
9:43 am
most memorable. how many 40 niners ceremonies have you officiated and is this a first? >> you know, this is my first. >> well, it will take some time for any official numbers to come in. the county clerk says there may likely be many more similar ceremonies happening super bowl weekend. we would expect a rush right before the super bowl. now the crack rims are riding high from their dream ceremony, one that may not be their last. we win tomorrow. we made it happen. >> so we got every year they go. now we got to figure out how to go get married again. i'm telling you, he started something. >> now, unfortunately, the couple was not able to score tickets to the super bowl, but you can best believe they're going to be watching the game very closely. stephanie, right now live in las vegas. zach fuentes, abc seven news getting married again gets me every time zach i love it forever. >> faithful to the bay and to each other as you pointed out. such a sweet story. well, i wanted to ask you, we are a little less than six hours out now. what is the energy right now at allegiant stadium? it is increasing by the minute. >> stephanie, we're up here on
9:44 am
risers right now, so we can't really move our camera. but i can oversee everything. there are so many fans starting to pour in at this moment, as even a couple of hours ago they were starting to come in and like you said, the game isn't for hours away, but the vibe is already vibing out here. people are having a good time hours before the game outside of allegiant stadium, and i'm just so excited to see the outcome. as is pretty much everyone. oh yeah, we're anxiously awaiting that outcome and lots of fun to come. >> well, zach, thank you so much for your report and we just need to take home a win now. all right. we'll check in with lisa. now what's your prediction lisa. >> oh you know what. well i'm not saying how much, but they're definitely going to win. we're due and we're due for some better weather, right? we're starting out with a lot of low clouds. then we have high clouds and light winds all three elements making for some slow clearing today. so get set on some afternoon sun, several dry days, some wet days, and then how much rain? well, you're going to want to stay tuned. i'll let you know next. >> thank you. and as we continue
9:45 am

presidents day special ends february 25th for a free appointment, call. (800) 476-0066. >> the quest for six is finally here as the niners gear up to play the chiefs in super bowl 58, but will all the niners get some payback after that horrible 2020 loss? abc seven's chris alvarez is here with your morning sports. >> good morning and happy super sunday from here in las vegas. >> a little later today, the 40 niners and chiefs in super bowl 58. >> now it's a rematch of the super bowl 54 game we saw in miami, kansas city and san francisco. and we know the niners lost that game. and we know fred warner was on that team. and earlier this week i talked the team captain about a little payback against kansas city. tebow called it the hardest, the biggest heartbreak of his life. i imagine, at least on the football field, it has to be how do you overcome that emotion to have maybe the greatest moment of your life in football? >> yeah, i think you kind of i
9:48 am
think football is unique. uh- is a unique sport in the fact that there has to be some sort of emotion being played with on the field because of how, how physical of a game it is. you know, when you're you're putting your body on the line every single play and, you know. but that being said, i think you got to remove most of the emotion out of it in terms of what happened last time, i don't think that has anything to do with what we got going on this sunday. these are two completely different teams, a lot of different players on both sides. key players, you know, in certain positions. but i think it's about really just taking your group that you have right now and executing it to the best of your ability. you know, three hours, three hours, whatever you whatever you can do for three hours, do it to the best of your ability, and i'm sure you get the job done. >> do you feel more confident this time around? i mean, you have different guys and there's some key ones like trent, christian, brock. does it feel different this time around, entering the super bowl for you? >> uh, yeah. i mean, it's different every year is different. and the team is much different from when it was back in 19. i mean, we still had a ton of confidence going into
9:49 am
that game. i think that, you know, we had the best team that year. but it's never about the team that's the best. it's about the team that plays the best for that. >> that given sunday, congrats on the baby boy. >> yeah appreciate it. thanks >> thanks to fred for his time. you saw this right here on abc seven warriors. suns jusuf nurkic and draymond green. those guys just don't like each other. welcome back gp2 gary payton the second back from injury defense to offense. he had 11 points in 14 minutes. the easy flush in transition. warriors up one at the break. third quarter dubs down one steph curry working on his former teammate kevin durant and that's a step back. triple splash two point lead for the warriors going into the fourth quarter. under three minutes to go. if you're not going to guard me i'll score. draymond green an easy bucket five point lead for the warriors. but under 40s to go devin booker two of his game. high 32 a tough basket. and the suns retake the lead by 23. three seconds to go brandon bochenski inbounds. tough pass steph gathers it. and what a shot that was. splash from way downtown. maybe the best shot of the season for mr. curry. the warriors win a thriller 113 112
9:50 am
four wins in a row. back to 500. it's a 25 and 25 record. >> let's go home. let's go home brad. >> kind of tried to, you know, lunge for the steal. bp made a put enough on it. so it kind of took two hops that i could figure out where the ball was coming, where the defense was and how to turn into it. and at that point, it's just muscle memory just shooting uh- you live with it. and thankfully it worked out. >> that feels like a good omen going into super bowl sunday. larry and i will be here at allegiant stadium later tonight. all your coverage. we'll see if the niners can win their sixth super bowl in franchise history. until then, have a great sunday and send it back to you. >> yeah, the clock is ticking. the bay area is staying faithful. check this out before today's big game. many san francisco landmarks are being lit up and red and gold to cheer on the niners. and this is a beautiful shot of the sky star ferris wheel at fisherman's wharf, glowing in niners red ahead of the super bowl. you
9:51 am
also see coit tower lit up, as well as salesforce. hey, lisa. >> hey, stephanie. good morning to you. we certainly were set with a chilly start to the day with a little bit of frost. now we've got some clouds, but as we get into the afternoon you're going to want to get outside if you can because temperatures are going to be very mild. we'll see more sunshine as the low clouds are going to thin out a few high clouds, but temperatures very similar to yesterday and have over in las vegas a little cooler, bright skies, mid 50s and dropping off through the upper 40s. so if you're planning the rest of the weekend into early next week, we have a break from the rain. you can see a weak system here to the north, dragging some clouds across the bay area and the low cloud deck and then there seems to be a lot of activity there is in the pacific, and things have been trending consistent with a wet second half of the week. so these clouds sweep through throughout the day. today. live look outside the oakland airport where we have partly sunny conditions. it is 50 degrees in san francisco and oakland, 51 in
9:52 am
hayward and san mateo. half moon bay, a little milder at 54. and from our east bay hills cam our top vollmer peak. you can see that marine layer, the low cloud deck 43 santa rosa and temperatures trying to come up through the 40s. but it has been cool, right? and a little foggy up to the north. 44 by the delta 45 in livermore. here's where all the sun is in santa cruz in the mid 40s. so cool with the low clouds to start out. then we've got high clouds and sunshine throughout the afternoon. another mild day. enjoy it! the clouds are going to overtake us for much of monday and tuesday, and then some light showers returning wednesday and valentine's day into thursday, and then things get pretty active as we get through the rest of the workweek. so here's a look of that valley of high clouds underneath the low clouds. but look what happens. it sweeps through the north bay. the first half of the day. the second half of the day, we're all sunny, so we will warm up and enjoy it. pretty nice day. but as we look at the outlook for the next several days, notice wednesday. just a weak system here. a few showers headed our way into thursday, but it's the friday
9:53 am
saturday time period where things get going and they're going to keep going as we see the jet stream and a lot of water headed our way along with wind as we get into your sunday, monday day time frame. so it's pretty far out. but it is presidents day, so with all of this, we are looking at the mountains, which probably a lot of people have plans on going to next weekend, and it looks like a very busy. time where we cou see anywhere from 2 to 3ft of snow. so we'll talk more precisely about the rain as we get closer, the wind and the snow. but as for the next few days, we're dry, we're mild, and today particularly we're sunny. so it's going to be nice out there with upper 50s to low 60s for the afternoon and the accuweather seven day forecast. we've got partly cloudy skies for your monday. a mix of clouds and sun on tuesday, valentine day we're cloudier, a few showers, a few scattered showers again on thursday, and level one systems and then by friday we'll bring in a little more rain and then for the weekend, why not
9:54 am
more rain, more wind, snow, the whole deal. so stay tuned for the details to come into better focus. >> yeah. so we'll enjoy this break while we have it. yeah for sure. thank you lisa, a reminder that you can watch all our newscasts live and on demand through the abc seven bay area connected tv app. it's available for apple tv, google tv, amazon fire tv, and roku. you can download the app now and start streaming. monday and tuesday, an explosive two on one. >> she is the problem. >> you're a troublemaker. i owned up to the things that i said. she is not somebody you would want your wife to be. i cannot give you this, rose. >> do you own a house you just need out of quickly or just needs costly repairs? no worries. jump bys, bay area houses for a cash in any condition. we buy all kinds of houses from inherited or foreclosures to expensive homes that you just need to sell quickly for cash. all with no stress, no hassle, no banks, and no commissions or fees. if you have a property you need to
