was caught on camera saturday night. no one was inside the car . abc seven news reporter cornell bernard found officials are vowing to make arrests. they're just putting out some rage for really no reason at all. >> they just wanted to vandalize something, and they did. edwin karenga came to chinatown for lunar new year celebrations saturday. >> but never expected things would take a destructive turn like this. a waymo driverless car stopped in traffic, vandalized and set on fire by a group of people. all of it caught on camera. >> one young man jumped on the hood and then jumped on the windshield. and that kind of started the whole melee. >> witnesses say about a dozen people were involved. one person is seen using a skateboard to break the car's windows. >> then someone threw a firework inside of the car. >> nathan vandersteen says he watched the car filled with smoke and catch fire. >> eventually, people started backing away but it was very, very dangerous. the car could

have exploded. it's just a mob mentality. everyone, all the adrenaline of the whole situation. it was mostly, i think, young teenagers who were responsible for the damage and the vandalism. >> the fire department responded and put out the flames, debris and ash left behind. tell a story of what happened here on jackson street, where that waymo was set on fire. waymo tells abc seven news the vehicle was not transporting any riders and no injuries have been reported. we are working closely with local safety officials to respond to the situation. the sfpd says it's investigating, but so far no suspects. >> it's totally unacceptable. it's particularly horrific that they did that during chinatown's most important day of the year. totally disrespect. >> supervisor aaron peskin says police are collecting lots of video evidence of the crime in progress. >> i've talked to them today. they've got good leads and i'm pretty hopeful, if not confident , that arrests will be made in san francisco. >> cornell, bernard abc seven

news. >> bart service is back on schedule after hours of delays. that's after a train operated spotted a body next to the tracks south of the balboa park station in san francisco this morning. train service in the area came to a stop just before 10 a.m, so police could respond and investigate. bart tells us there is no evidence of foul play. the body was found on an elevated portion of the line. as you can see in this video. the medical examiner will determine the cause of death. service resumed between balboa park and daly city stations at about 130. a five year old child is among the injured after police say a woman opened fire inside of joel osteen's houston megachurch. investigators say the woman entered the church with the child between spanish language services this afternoon and began to shoot. police say off duty officers shot and killed the suspect. right now, at some point, the child was hit, but it is unclear who shot him. he is in critical condition. a 56 year old man was also shot and was

treated for a hip injury. >> and they started shooting. and we weren't scared. and then we went to the chairs to try to protect us. and then everybody was crazy running and walking all the way. >> police say the woman threatened she had a bomb, but a bomb squad found no explosives. a motive for the shooting has not been released. lakewood church has an average attendance of 45,000 people. a week. new details are emerging about some of the six people who died when a helicopter crashed late friday night in the san bernardino county desert near the nevada state line. the ceo of one of nigeria's largest banks, herbert wigwe, is among those killed, and his wife and his eldest son were also on board and died. another prominent nigerian financial executive was also among the dead. the helicopter was flying from palm springs to las vegas when it went down near halloran springs. the ntsb is now investigating the cause at

bodega bay. tomorrow salvage crews will siphon 1500 gallons of diesel fuel from a fishing boat that ran aground early saturday morning. the captain of the aleutian storm radioed for help after his boat became stuck in the sand on the beach at sonoma coast state park. all four crew members got to shore. okay. salvage teams will remove the fuel before transporting the boat off the beach for repairs. the coast guard has been monitoring the vessel for potential fuel spills as well. moving on to the weather. no rain this weekend. that is the good news. we've gotten to enjoy some really nice weather, but keep in mind another storm is headed our way. spencer has been monitoring all of this and brings us the timeline. spencer. >> okay. dion. yes it couldn't stay sunny and calm for very long, could it? here's a look at live doppler seven. you can see that high pressure is the controlling factor in our weather right now. it will be for another day or two. but notice how active the weather is out to sea. you see all those

clouds out there and storms developing. they are moving in our direction. so let's take a look at what's coming our way. these are our weather headlines coming up here for tonight, overnight and into the early morning hours. some patchy fog and some of our valleys frosty spots down in the south bay. and then the next two days will bring us a mix of sun and clouds. wednesday is when the active weather begins and it may continue right on through the weekend with periods of rain and showers. here's a forecast animation starting at 7 a.m. tuesday. notice that first front approaching us on wednesday, which is valentine's day, may bring us some light rainfall and showers. that's a relatively weak system. it will be followed by a stronger system, a little bit more energy in this one, a little bit more rainfall as well for thursday and friday. and then over the weekend we'll see a still stronger storm coming in. perhaps late saturday into sunday or sunday into monday. either way, we have a series of potentially rainy days coming our way, starting midweek, i'll have the full accuweather seven day forecast in a few minutes. >> dion okay, sounds good. spencer. thank you. california governor gavin newsom is in nevada, right now. our cameras captured video of him arriving

at the super bowl just a few hours ago. and check out who else we spotted. yes that is apple ceo tim cook. he is on the left there heading into allegiant stadium for the game. now there is a super bowl party underway in the north bay right now just for teens car club in san rafael is hosting an alcohol and drug free event as a way to provide young people with a safe space to watch the game. there is free pizza, popcorn, cotton candy and other desserts. marine based substance abuse prevention nonprofit alcohol justice is co-hosting that event, and check out the party in the south bay. this is san pedro square in san jose, where legions of niner faithful took to the first half from the many bars and restaurants there, everyone here is glued to the tv as you can see. just hoping for a victory. now abc seven news reporter luz pena is hanging out with 40 niners fans watching the game at thrive city in san francisco. dion we're watching the game

cesar chavez from both north and southbound 101 san jose avenue from northbound to 80, plus geneva avenue on both the northbound and southbound sides. a house fire in santa rosa has left two people in the hospital in critical condition. two cats also died in that fire. the blaze broke out last night at a home on ashton avenue. good samaritans rescued one victim while firefighters went in and pulled another woman out, who was overcome with smoke inhalation. a third victim managed to escape the fire on their own fire crews successfully resuscitated a pet cat. the cause of the fire is still under investigation. fed up oakland residents are calling for a state of emergency to be declared over public safety. the group coalition for community engagement, rallied in the parking lot of the soon to close in-n-out burger. they say small business owners are struggling and having been targeted for robberies, burglaries and vandalism in every part of the

hour. temperatures right now, 54 degrees here in san francisco. and at oakland and san jose and san mateo, 56 at hayward, 52 at half moon bay. other temperature readings around the bay area. we've got 56 at santa rosa, down to 48 at petaluma and low to mid 50s at napa, fairfield, concord and livermore. and let's take a look at our weather headlines during the overnight hours and into the early morning, we'll see some patchy fog developing in some of the valleys. frosty spots down in the south bay next two days, monday and tuesday, a mix of sun and clouds, then beginning on wednesday, continuing probably through the weekend, we'll have periods of rain and showers, so the wet weather will return for tonight. we'll have some cold weather down in the mount hamilton area. in fact, in the eastern hills of santa clara, you'll see santa clara county. you'll see temperatures drop about as low as 35 degrees. so a frosty advisories in effect from 10:00 tonight to 9 a.m. tomorrow for that region a frost will bear mind. could kill sensitive plants. now, looking at the broader picture of overnight lows up in the north bay 38, santa rosa 39. at napa. the

inland east bay, mainly mid to upper 30s down in the south bay. of course morgan hill down to about 38. but right around the bay shoreline lows will drop only into the low to mid 40s. similar range of lows on the coast. highs tomorrow under mostly sunny skies. 58. half moon bay 59, san francisco 60 at oakland and a few low 60s sprinkled around the bay shoreline. down in the south bay, san jose will top out at 64 degrees. our warmest location up in the north bay, mainly upper 50s, but santa rosa will likely hit 60. now let's take a look at the approaching wet weather starting 7 a.m. on tuesday, we'll see the first wave of rain or showers moving in on wednesday. valentine's day. it's likely to produce just light rainfall on wednesday, maybe even into thursday, then a stronger system comes in on friday, producing more rainfall into saturday. and then on sunday looks like a fairly significant system could work. its way in and continue producing rainfall steady and even heavier rain into monday. so here's the accuweather seven day forecast. you can see the pattern changes rather
