braved the journey to las vegas for the game, and the super bowl was not all doom and gloom. >> one bay area native took the stage during halftime to perform alongside usher and wasn't it a great halftime show? a good game to obviously not the finish we wanted to see. that's why i'm wearing black this morning. no in morning. >> feeling it with you all. all morning. >> it's going to be like oh i know. >> do we have to play this? yeah thank you all for joining us though. we want to begin with a look at our weather. >> hopefully it's a lot better than the outcome of that game. >> i know. >> let's talk about weather. right. all right good morning everybody. high pressure still in control. we'll have some clouds though. and partly cloudy skies will result throughout the rest of the day. dense fog is an issue as well this morning, but the rain that's going to hold off for the next several days. so if you're headed out, particularly in our north bay valleys this morning, until 10:00, drive slow. use those low beams. reduce visibility. you can see from novato to santa rosa a quarter to a half mile visibility and current numbers there. chilly. we've got a

little frost. once again, the hills here, santa clara, east bay, where temperatures have dropped off into the 30s. how about 34? in danville, 38 up in the north bay. and as we look at our 24 hour temperature change, it is colder from oakland, seven degrees, 11 degrees colder. half moon bay. so heading out this morning, grab the jacket. give yourself some extra time. we'll get into a partly cloudy afternoon. upper 50s to low 60s. and we're going to track another dry day before we bring back our storm impact scale for several days. we'll talk about it in detail that for you, talk rain totals coming up. good morning gloria. >> good morning to you lisa. we're going to focus on the positive today right. 40 niners had a great season. another positive. the roads are looking really good this morning. all in the green right now which is nice. that's what we like to see. no major slowdowns at this time. and getting a live look outside our emeryville camera. we are seeing a little bit of traffic there, but nothing out of the ordinary, and it is flowing nicely right now. >> julian okay, thank you so much, gloria. this morning a lot

of niners fans are waking up feeling pretty defeated as kansas city celebrates winning the super bowl for the third time in five years. it's the start of one. >> we're not done. yeah just know that the kansas city chiefs are never underdogs. just know that the game went into overtime . >> and that's when the winning touchdown since the team's back to back super bowl wins this play just absolutely unbelievable. the first time in 19 years when tom brady and the patriots did it last, winning back to back super bowls. mahomes also now tying brady for the number of mvp awards after winning it for the third time last night. another key player, travis kelce, showed some frustration on the sidelines. in this moment right here running over to chiefs coach andy reid screaming at him, almost knocking him back a few steps. reportedly he was angry that he wasn't on the field for play. >> i'm going to keep it between us. i was just telling him how much i love him. yeah yeah, that's what you said, right? >> all was well after the game between travis kelce and of

course taylor swift as sharing a kiss on the field during the celebration. the parade in kansas city is set for wednesday. although we're not too worried about that. well many 40 niners fans made the trip to las vegas hoping to see their team take the win. they were treated to an exciting game right up to the very last minute, but their hearts were broken in that overtime finish. abc seven news reporter zach fuentes live at allegiant stadium with reaction from some of those fans. zach, it's never fun. the morning after a tough loss. what are fans saying to you? >> yeah, it's very difficult for them. if you thought the intensity was intense at home in the stadium, it was ten fold. it was crazy, especially as the game went into overtime. so needless to say, 40 niners fans are disappointed. but they are, of course, still faithful. but let's take a look at some of the video we shot as 40 niners fans were coming out of the stadium. that look on that man is the feeling from so many of the niners fans in the stadium when that last touchdown was made. and while every 40 niners fan felt disappointment, how they

reacted to the loss was different. among each person we spoke with. take a listen to what some of them had to say. >> pienta three super bowls in my life. new orleans, miami and here we lost everyone devastated . so devastated. i'm from the bay area, denver devastated. the played real well. at the end of the day. >> being here is a blessing and the team fought through it. a lot of adversity this year. >> yeah, it was quite a fight. as upset as many of the folks here were, everyone we heard from did back quarterback brock purdy, and that was one thing we noticed out here was that teams, fans of both sides of the teams were acknowledging one another. you saw kansas city chiefs fans acknowledging the 40 niners and vice versa, because it was a very hard, well fought game up until the very end. so that's what we're hearing from some of the fans out here. still a lot of excitement in las vegas as this was the very first super bowl and a lot of people excited to be here in town for it, regardless of the outcome that

many wanted to see. but right now, live in las vegas. zach fuentes, abc seven news zach, i know a lot of people have been following your journey. >> just covering super bowl fandom in the last week. we saw you a lot last week. a lot of the experience that you shared with us. how were you feeling? i mean, this is all new to you, something that you i know were nervous about at the beginning, but you just i mean, you you were just a success on the morning show. you know, it was nervous about it because i'm not the biggest. >> i'm not too knowledgeable about sports. i won't say i'm not the biggest sports fan, but i'm not too knowledgeable about it. my task out here was to find stories that showcase las vegas, that had some kind of relation to the super bowl, and i did that. and in that process, i got to speak with so many 40 niners fans, and i was so invested in this team because of them and working through them. so i feel their disappointment right now, and that is why i'm wearing black to. >> well, you did great all week long. >> we'll be seeing you throughout the morning. zach zach fuentes in morning for us this morning.

>> we appreciate you zach. >> and in san francisco fans poured out onto 24th street after the heartbreak loss. it was really subdued with just a few fireworks shooting into the night. sky fans are trying to see the positive and look forward to next season. >> a hell of a game. i mean, they could have done better. they could have done some better plays, but it was a hell of a game. >> we still faithful to the niners no matter what. there is no this year, probably next year we're going to be a champions san francisco police said several roadblocks set up around the city in preparation for the possible of big celebrations taking over the streets, and we know that did not happen, but we've compiled all our stories on the 40 niners run to the super bowl in a new streaming special. >> it's called the road to las vegas. you can stream it on demand right now on our website or the abc seven bay area app. >> san francisco police are following leads after a group of people set a waymo self-driving car on fire. it happened during the lunar new year celebrations in chinatown on saturday. abc

seven news reporter lena howland is live at waymo headquarters in san francisco, with reaction from witnesses in lena. this video of the incident is just wild. >> julian, that's right. and fortunately, no one was inside of the car at the time of that incident. and now city officials say police have good leads on this case. witnesses. one witness we talked to said he came to chinatown for lunar new year celebrations on saturday, but never expected things would take a destructive turn like this. a waymo driverless car stopped in traffic, vandalize and set on fire by a group of people, all of it caught on camera. he describes the moments when one man jumped on the hood and then on the windshield, which is what started the whole thing. witnesses say about a dozen people were involved. one person is seen using a skateboard to break the car's windows before someone threw a firework inside the car, causing it to fill with smoke and catch fire. the eventually people

started backing away, but it was very, very dangerous. >> the car could have exploded. it's just a mob mentality. everyone, all the adrenaline of the whole situation. it was mostly, i think, young teenagers who were responsible for the damage and the vandalism. way tells abc seven news the vehicle was not transporting any riders and no injuries have been reported. >> we are working closely with local safety officials to respond to this situation. now, the san francisco police department tells us that they are investigating this incident, but so far they have not released any suspect information. city officials say they are vowing to make arrests in this case, live in san francisco. lena howland abc seven news. >> all right. good morning to you. as we look at live doppler seven, you'll notice some cloud cover there. it's the high clouds. partly cloudy today. we're going to hold off on the rain for several days, but not as many as you think. it's going

to come back midweek. visibility reduced here in the north bay quarter mile visibility. so that's why we have a dense fog advisory until 10:00 there. and it's cold out there. it is frosty once again. santa clara hills, east bay here 34, danville 37. in livermore. and we've got some upper 30s from sonoma to saint helena, 42 in oakland. a look outside our exploratorium camera patchy fog and frosty spots this morning, a mix of clouds and sun again today and then looking at the rain returning on wednesday, we're going to have some breaks though, as we get into thursday, and then some more weekend rain. we'll time it out for you right now. so here are the clouds today into your tuesday and look at wednesday. stopping this at about seven in the morning. and then by the middle of the day there 4:00. we've got a quick moving line of lighter rain pushing through and rainfall totals very light, anywhere from about a 10th to a third of an inch. this is thursday. we add in friday, a little leftover shower activity, an inch of rain , and then skipping ahead all the way to the weekend. couple

inches of rain headed our way. but as for today, upper 50s, low 60s, partly cloudy and the accuweather seven day forecast a series of level one systems beginning wednesday. but it's the weekend we're focusing on not as strong as our last sunday windstorm, but more heavier rain and wind for next weekend. julian, amanda. >> all right. thank you so much. deadly shooting inside of one of america's largest churches. the reaction from the church's pastor, joel osteen, about the country's latest high profile shooting. >> and we're also hearing also hearing from students at uc berkeley following this, a man with a gun firing the weapon several times on campus. the charges that person is now facing. >> and beyonce once again stealing some of the limelight away during the super bowl. how queen bee did it with a one minute commercial. >> we want to give you a live look outside at 511. red and gold still on the buildings in downtown san francisco. we'll be right back

celebrity pastor joel osteen's megachurch. gloria. this happened as the church was packed with parishioners for sunday service. it did amanda off duty officers responded, ended as gunfire broke out inside joel osteen's lakewood church. >> that was yesterday in houston and police say that the suspected shooter, a woman said to be in her 30s, walked into the church holding a rifle and she brought along a five year old boy. that boy is now in the hospital with serious injuries. a 57 year old man was also shot in the leg and taken to the hospital. those two off duty officers who were working at the church shot and killed the shooter. the incident happened just before spanish service was about to begin. hundreds of parishioners were inside at the time. >> they started shooting and we went scared. and then we went to the chairs to try to protect us. and then everybody was crazy

running. >> police say the woman claimed to have a bomb before she died, but authorities say no explosive lives were found at the scene. the shooter's identity has not yet been released, and there's no word yet on a motive for that attack. julian. >> all right. thank you so much, gloria. students at uc berkeley are raising concerns over a safety notification system after there was a shooting on campus. this all happened friday night in the area of sproul plaza at the mlk studentnion. abc seven news reporter ryan curry has more. the moments leading up to the shooting and response from students. firing into the air. >> new video shows what happened on the uc berkeley campus friday night. a man gets into a fight with several people near sproul plaza shortly after the fight, he pulls out a gun and starts shooting. students quickly ran to safety. >> we happen to notice a bunch of cops drive by where we were so we came to check it out and we were standing by the student

union and somebody was getting pinned to the floor and then carried to the car. i was a little bit shocked that this all happened, like in the student building. >> no one was hurt in campus. police arrested him several minutes after the shooting, but students say they didn't know there was a shooting until well after it had happened. >> so this one says there's police activity in lower sproul plaza. this is like about 30 minutes after it happened. >> santiago hopkins says he heard from friends instead of the uc berkeley alert system. >> he was kind of egregious considering like, you know, even the email said there's police activity involved and say there's like a shooter or something. um i heard about it through, like a slack through my club. >> other students didn't get the alert until several hours later. >> the alert system went off and around like, i think like 10 or 11, even though i heard the shooting happened at around 840. you can see the window shot out in the second floor of the student union. >> plenty of students walked through here. it's right by the

center of campus. uc berkeley says they're looking into why the alert system was delayed, but the students we spoke with, they say they want it improved. >> this has to be better, i think. yeah it's pretty simple. >> police are notrillioneleasing, the name of the man, but says he is 59 years old and not affiliated with the school. they say he faces several weapons charges. students on campus are on edge. the day after i mean, i come here every day, so, like, i could have. >> i could have been here when the shooting happened. and thankfully, i wasn't in berkeley. >> ryan curry, abc seven news. >> the couple charged in a gender reveal party that sparked a deadly fire in southern california, has reached a plea deal. refugio and angelina jimenez both pleaded guilty to several charges. refugio will serve one year in jail and two years of felony probation. angelina will serve one year of misdemeanor probation. they were also ordered to pay $1.7 million in restitution. the couple is accused of accidentally starting a fire at the foot of the san bernardino mountains, killing a

firefighter. >> happening today at bodega bay, salvage crews will siphon 1500 gallons of diesel fuel from a fishing boat. thatrillionan ran aground over the weekend. the us coast guard has been keeping an eye on the 58 foot aleutian storm for fuel leaks after it washed ashore saturday. the captain of the boat radioed for help after getting stuck in the sand on the beach at sonoma coast state park. all four crew members got to shore. okay. thankfully, salvage teams will remove the fuel before transporting the boat off the beach for repairs. >> in today's gma first look, taylor swift has made a huge impact on the nfl this season, boosting viewership and jersey sales. here's abc news reporter rhiannon ally in this morning's gma first look. >> the taylor swift effect super sized. the nfl benefiting from a whole new super bowl audience, all thanks to one person for jamie voorhees and his 11 year old daughter bree from chapel hill. they now watch games

at our rainfall potential the next couple of days, you notice we're dry today, tomorrow, wednesday, just some very light rain leftover into thursday. and then it's the weekend that we're really focusing on the rain and the snow. here we are at 76% of average in the sierra nevada. now it's presidents day weekend. so this is why i'm showing you the snowfall potential into the weekend. looking at about a foot or more. so if you're making plans or have plans, they may have to be modified as we time out the friday saturday and sunday. and did i say monday and tuesday? rain? yeah. for next week. 60 in concord today. look for low 60s in the south bay. a little more sun inland then we'll see in the north bay. so pretty nice start to your monday, gloria. >> all right. nice start on the roads as well. today. we're having no major issues out there. so that's some good news on this monday. as far as mass transit, bart and capitol corridor are on time right now. ace, however, has ace one running right now on a 15 minute delay. that's because of freight

number one, a heartbreaking overtime loss for the 49 ers at super bowl 58 in las vegas. it's only the second time a super bowl has gone into overtime. and the first time in 19 years a team has won back to back super bowls. >> number two san francisco police say they plan to make arrests after vandals set a waymo self-driving car on fire. it happened during chinatown's lunar new year celebrations on saturday. thankfully, no one was inside of that car. number three, some oakland residents are calling for a state of emergency to be declared over public safety. >> they say small business owners are struggling after being hit by criminals in every part of the town. number four, today's san francisco election officials will begin tallying

on abc seven. >> us defense secretary lloyd austin is back in the hospital this morning for what the defense department is calling an emergent bladder issue. austin was taken to the critical care unit at walter reed medical center in bethesda, maryland. officials say they expect austin to make a full recovery, and that his prognosis for fighting prostate cancer remains excellent. the 70 year old has transferred duties to his deputy, kathleen hicks. it's unclear how long he will remain at walter reed for former president trump now getting some heat from international leaders this morning, coming up at 530, what he said about nato that has some us allies questioning his allegiance. >> from commercials to surprise announcements to celebrity appearances, we're taking a closer look at some of the most memorable moments from super

all right. >> thanks so much, gloria. well, last night's game, besides being an historic nail biter, it was also a cultural moment that brought together fans of sports, music and celebrity, too. here's abc's danny new with the story. >> the moment the super bowl was permitted to begin. taylor swift arriving at allegiant stadium hours after her international flight from japan, you see actress blake lively and rapper ice spice walking alongside the pop star who was in attendance to watch her boyfriend boo thang travis kelce come and dine me over and over again. as expected, the broadcast cut to her many times, showing the grammy winner biting her nails when the game wasn't looking so hot in the fourth quarter. been there, but he brings to the game . but as we know, kelce and the chiefs pulled out a comeback overtime victory and swift got to celebrate on the field with the superstar tight end. you're just stand there you ape. >> give me a hand up. >> all right let's get to some commercials. as we mentioned blake lively. so how about her husband ryan reynolds appearing in a trailer for the third installment of the deadpool franchise, which you just saw,

in morning. >> you know, i was in the stadium at different points throughout the game and the emotion, the range of emotions from the fans in there was just so intense from both sides. we're talking kansas city chiefs and 40 niners, but the 40 niners disappointment was about as intense as the game itself. and you can see it in the video we shot just after the game. you see that fans walking out showing that stunning loss in their face. and that was a feeling shared by so many. we spoke with as they left the game and still processed its outcome. and while it's clear no. 40 niners fan was happy with the loss, how each person is reacting really differs among each person. we got to speak with. >> there's no words. >> we there and i just don't get how. we just can't finish it off. four years, five years, just we're so close. jr and just it's not working out man. i don't know what to do. i'm bummed but but but very proud of the team. >> very proud of where the franchise is and what we're doing. the future is very bright . >> yeah, just a big sense of pride. still among that disappointment from the fans,

you know, each fan we spoke with did show a lot of love to quarterback brock purdy. and there was you know, this game could have gone either way at one point for both teams. so there's a lot of support from fans of both teams that we saw outside of the stadium. after the game, people applauding the 4040 niners, fans applauding the kansas city chiefs, of course, and vice versa. so a lot of love going around, but also a lot of disappointment, right now. live in las vegas. zach fuentes, abc seven news. and that disappointment was easy to see. >> i don't know those. we just saw a long shot of a fan walking out of the stadium face fully painted, frowning and walking slowly. was that steve stifter just not letting that guy live? following that guy with his camera? >> you know what? we could have pointed the camera in any direction and you would have seen fans looking like that. that's how disappointed they were. it was just people were on edge and those final seconds of the game and that was really the only look they could give their process it well. >> zach, we also want to ask you about the halftime show because

thankfully, no one was hurt here . >> julian. that's right. that is the good news in this situation, no one was hurt. and no one was in the car at the time of that incident either. take a look at this video. a waymo driverless car stopped in traffic, vandalized and set on fire by a group of people. all of it caught on camera. witnesses say one man jumped on the hood and then on the windshield, which is what started the whole thing. they say about a dozen people were involved. one person is seen using a skateboard to break the car's windows before someone threw a firework inside of the car, causing it to fill with smoke and catch fire supervisor aaron peskin says police are collecting lots of video evidence of the crime in progress. >> i've talked to them today, they've got good leads and i'm pretty hopeful, if not confident , that arrests will be made. it's totally unacceptable. it's particularly horrific that they did that during chinatown's most important day of the year.
