1:27 am
to interpret imaging with black and ethnic hair braids. yes. twist and locks. >> basically. doctor mirsky found that folks with braids could often get misdiagnosed with diseases or have costly imaging ordered because their hair could create some sort of illusion called an artifact. on scans. >> when i met him, he taught me, and i was like, oh, this is a huge issue in the braids. >> you know, we see these checkered notches of gas, right? >> they got to work and started researching the lack of education on the subject. >> 90% of physicians are unaware of, and they started building a presentation that angela could give medical professionals. >> and i've seen physicians and residents humble themselves. yeah >> and, well, sure, there's the counterargument that folks could just tie up their braids or remove them entirely. not everyone can physically do that. and they also feel that people shouldn't have to. >> and so imagine you being told that like something was wrong with you almost, that you couldn't get past a certain level, your medical journey because of something that is like inherently part of you and angela's program actually ended
1:28 am
over the summer, but the school decided to extend her stay and hire her for another year so she could continue this research and this education that is amazing. >> bravo to angela. she said they shouldn't have to change their hair. >> yeah, exactly like that takes hours. it takes money. and if you just learn how to read these scans, then no one would have to do that. >> but it's amazing that no one thought of this before, and i do hope that other students get to try this and give it a curl. >> okay. well done andrew. >> what would you give for a child you loved to make their wish come true to help them fight a critical illness?
1:29 am

1:32 am
to begin with the ruling that could shatter donald trump's business empire. >> today, a new york judge is set to release his decision in the former president's civil fraud case. he's already found trump liable for inflating the value of his real estate holdings. well, now he could order him to pay $370 million. and also ban him from doing business in new york. >> this is coming a day after another judge set march 25th as the start date for trump's hush money trial. as trump attended that new york hearing, the district attorney prosecuting him on charges of trying to overturn the 2020 election took the stand at georgia. >> fani willis defiantly defended her actions amid efforts to have her disqualified over a relationship with a special prosecutor. she hired, and her testimony will continue today. abc's steve osunsami has more. >> d willis, how are you feeling about your testimony in a stunning change of heart, the fulton county prosecutor accused of profiting from hiring her lover to help lead the election interference case against former president trump and 18 others, walked right up to the judge and said she was ready to testify. >> america. fani willis called
1:33 am
the lawyer who called her here a liar. >> it is a lie. it is a lie. it's highly offensive when someone lies on you and it's highly offensive when they try to implicate that you slept with somebody the first day you met with them. don't be cute with me. and then think that you're not going to get an answer. >> it is a rare event for a prosecutor to sit on the witness stand and take questions from the lawyers of clients she's trying to convict. >> you're confused. you think i'm on trial? these people are on trial for trying to steal an election in 2020. i'm not on trial. no matter how hard you try to put me on trial. >> the attorney for one of the defendants who's doing most of the digging here wants her client's case thrown out and is asking the judge to remove willis from the election interference case because she enjoyed romance getaways that were allegedly paid for by special prosecutor nathan wade, who willis hired. he paid for the flight and the cruise on royal caribbean that time. >> so yes, he paid. >> he tells me how much it is and i give him the money back.

1:35 am
things that are, uh, in common among people having a romantic relationship? yes such as? can you give us an example? >> hugging. kissing? >> if she's removed. and the key word is if the state could step in and assign this case to a different prosecutor, who would then decide whether or not the case moves forward. and in georgia, there are plenty of choices of prosecutor. if you're looking for someone who wants to stop this. that said, it would be a tall order for willis to be removed from the case. steve osunsami abc news, atlanta our thanks to steve osunsami for thatrillioneport. >> former president trump is slamming the case as a scam and a witch hunt in a late night post, he claimed fani willis got free trips and never paid back nathan wade in cash. trump told fox news the case is so badly tainted it should be dismissed. >> a former fbi informant is in custody and facing up to 25 years in prison for allegedly
