million people are under flood alerts as the latest storm hits much of the state. in santa barbara county, streams are raging thanks to half a foot of rain. so far, many areas that are getting rain today were also flooded earlier this month at santa barbara's airport. downpours yesterday flooded the tarmac, forcing the airport to close. and in l.a, a sinkhole has closed. a busy off ramp of the 405 freeway for up to a month. the city says more than 4000 potholes have been repaired ahead of this current storm. and with that, we get the forecast from accuweather's melissa constanza. melissa, good morning . >> good morning andrew. this is still a messy storm system as it continues to pinwheel moisture into the state of california, including high mountain snows. but heavy rainfall that could lead to flooding. you can see the morning starts off wet. northern california. but look at the slug of moisture pushing into southern california. and we're not finished just yet. even into the night, there's still some rainfall before things clear out. wednesday will be left with some showers, but the story is drying out. keep in mind, though, beyond the flooding risk, which is the
