expected, but it's one prominent oakland business that's not going to be there that's riling up a's fans. >> abc seven news reporter ryan curry looks into this brewing controversy. >> these are stacks of beer from local breweries. they'll be served at saturday's oakland fan festival. the a's used to put on this event, but now it's run by fans. and these fans are not inviting the a's. >> somebody's got to do something for the fans. somebody's got to do something for the culture, and somebody's got to give back. and that's what we're doing. plenty of local breweries are joining the event, but one already backed out. >> drake's brewing company, which is based in the east bay, told the organizers just a few days ago they can't be there due to unforeseen circumstances, as some suspect the a's might be behind the sudden cancellation. but the a's tell abc seven news they had nothing to do with it. and drake's isn't returning our request for a comment. >> they say the a's weren't involved or anything like that. but, you know, we've had another sponsor that was approached by the a's. um, and they denied their request to not be involved. and they're still coming and they're still going

to be here. >> this is the banner they already ordered and paid for. you can see drake's in the bottom left corner, but it turns out it might be a blessing in disguise because once they canceled other breweries volunteered to be part of the event. >> the response was just unbeliev. you know, we had six beer vendors sign on. we had numerous other vendors that that weren't beer vendors, like, i want to get involved. and we're like, well, we can't. we don't have enough room. >> that support is why festival organizers think this will be one of the largest oakland fan festivals in recent years. for months, the die hards have joined together to denounce the a's move to las vegas, while also celebrating the team still in oakland. this is demonstrating the resilience that is the oakland fan base. >> it's demonstrating the resilience that is oakland and it's going to be incredible. the new minor league team, the ballers and other teams in oakland will be there to engage with fans. >> there will be live music and raffle prizes. they want to make oakland a place where fans can get excited about the teams who call the town home, because the fans are doing it. >> it's going to be a lot more authentic than if a large, you know, organization was throwing

it for us in oakland, ryan curry, abc seven news and fan fest gets underway at 11 tomorrow morning, runs through four at jack london square. >> it is free to attend with free parking, but people are encouraged to take bart or public transportation. abc seven news sports anchor casey bratt is serving as master of ceremonies and developing news out of san pablo. >> police are searching for the driver of a red chevy malibu. they say tried to run down an officer this afternoon. police were chasing the car near alfredo boulevard when this happened. a police officers fired at the vehicle, apparently striking it twice. the car kept going, eventually making it onto the freeway and getting away. the officer suffered moderate injuries and is being treated. >> a frightening incident today in san jose, highlighting just how dangerous power lines can be . it involved two men inside a cherry picker working on an apartment building near the intersection of zanker road and bellagio street. abc seven news reporter dustin dorsey joins us live with the latest on this incident that unfolded over a period of hours. dustin yeah, absolutely. >> ama. that's still wrapping up

right now. as you can see behind me, we have those two subcontractors with the crescent village apartment complex. they got to be thankful that they're alive right now after coming in direct contact with those high voltage lines. and as i said, this situation is continuing. one of the lanes still blocked off here as the cherry picker, the lift has come down as you can see there as p-g-and-e's crews continue to handle this situation, one man in that lift suffered serious injuries and both of the men were transported to the santa clara valley medical center burn unit around 230 this afternoon. we're going to roll the video now to see the scene earlier as san jose fire rescuers brought down the two men, stuck in that lift. around 11 a.m, witnesses described a loud pop when one of the two workers hit his helmet on the power line. he was electrocuted and suffered severe burns to his arms and upper body. the helmet likely protected him from further harm. the other man suffered flash burns, according to san jose fire. the lift was stuck until just as you saw a little bit ago, suspended

because it was unclear if it was working properly. after the contact with the lines, san jose fire battalion chief mark thomas says there are strict rules that must be followed when dealing with overhead lines. >> one of the things that pg wants to reiterate is anytime you're working around any high voltage lines, you want to stay at least 30ft away. obviously, in this case, the those protocols weren't followed, so we weren't sure what happened there. now cal osha will take over from here as they continue their investigation due to a workplace injury. >> as you can see behind me, this line of cars here with pg and e blocking off one of the two lanes angkor road was closed for several hours until just within this last hour. we're just thankful right now that nothing else was more serious than the situation that we had right here today. we are live in san jose. dustin dorsey, abc seven news. absolutely dustin, thank you very much. >> san francisco mayor london breed says san francisco's image

somebody would be so evil and heartless. just stop on me. why don't you and rub your dirty heels all over me? >> he was frightened and it was. it was so exploitive to exploit a widower in his moment of grief. >> my poor wife, she would be horrified if she were here witnessing what's gone on here. she would be so furious. >> the hacker was also sending direct messages to richard's facebook friends asking for money for friends had already donated to the phony gofundme campaign. richard used a secondary facebook account to warn others. it reached only a few people. >> i can't stand on broadway and fourth avenue and hold a big sign, his friends and seven on your side alerted gofundme to the fraud. >> three days later, the site took down the campaign and refunded donors money. however facebook has refused to remove the hacker from richard's account. >> we've reviewed your complaint, yadda yadda. we found

nothing irregular. it does not violate our policies. >> richard's friends also tried to alert facebook to their amazement, facebook kept sending automated responses, saying the account met all standards. >> how many of his friends complained to facebook? we were never talking to a person. the complaints go to an algorithm. the algorithm spits it back and says there's nothing wrong in this email. >> facebook told richard, quote, we reviewed the profile your friends reported and found that it isn't pretend to be you which infer richard. well, how about this mr. and mrs. facebook? >> these people stole my identity for nefarious purposes charges to this day the stolen account is still active. >> now claiming richard is raising money for prostate cancer when he's not. >> does that sound like it goes with your policy for seven on your side? >> karina nova abc seven news. now facebook did not respond to

clouds, but that system, as it gets closer, we'll bring in a couple of showers sunday afternoon, evening and then monday everyone gets an opportunity for wet weather temperatures right now in the 60s, our high temperatures today in the 60s and 70. a gorgeous view from santa cruz camera tomorrow. sunshine and warmer weather sunday is cooler with those few showers in the afternoon and evening, and monday we do see those showers spreading and does turn breezy. let's take a look back at san jose's rainfall this month. yeah, it's been wet a lot of those days. enough so that we are in a surplus. just over two inches san jose. typically is in the rain shadow of the santa cruz mountains and gets skipped over. as you know, if you live down there or work down there, not this year. things have changed. all right. 8:00 tonight, 50s on your temperatures. still some high clouds overnight going into tomorrow morning. but those clouds will insulate us. it will warm quickly by saturday at noontime. you're in the 60s, well above average by a good 5 to 10 degrees. 3:00. you're in the 60s and the 70s, so it's
