video from that. florida officials are taking steps to try to make sure there's no repeat this year. governor ron desantis is sending more than 80 state troopers to miami beach during spring breaks. busiest times, more law enforcement assets are being sent to other hotspots as well. last year's spring break saw two deadly shootings and nearly 500 arrests trying to break up with spring break. >> more human body parts have been discovered on new york's long island. remains have now been found at three different locations across suffolk county. the latest were found yesterday, and police say they belong to the same man and woman found dead in a park last week. it is believed their deaths were the result of a domestic dispute. neighbors, meanwhile, can't believe what's happening. >> it's crazy. yeah, gentleman over here just told me i. yeah, i was taken aback for sure. >> two arrests have been made in the case so far. >> okay, a new study is out. it is linking sugary drinks with a potentially dangerous heart condition. researchers in the uk say people who consume more than two liters of artificial, sweetened liquids per week had a

super tuesday brought both of them so close to becoming their party's nominee and making a rematch a near certainty more than a third of the available delegates were at stake. from coast to coast, including the two biggest states. abc's reena roy starts us off. >> overnight results coming in from super tuesday, as millions of americans in 16 states from california to texas make their voices heard. former president trump, celebrating his sweep in all but one gop race while slamming president biden's handling of the economy and the border. >> all of the problems that you have today, i don't think you would have had any of them. you'd only have success. and that's what's ultimately going to unify this country and unify this party. we're going to have unity, and it's going to happen very quickly. >> president biden reacted to his success in the democratic primaries, saying voters are showing that they are ready to fight back against donald trump's extreme plan to take us backwards. the biden camp calling trump a threat to democracy. super tuesday may

have been the final test for trump's republican challenger, nikki haley, who won only the state of vermont. haley's campaign touting the win, saying there remains a large block of republican primary voters who are expressing deep concerns about donald trump. that is not the unity our party needs for success. a concern for trump. haley's success among independents in the suburbs. is there any indication that those who voted for nikki haley could possibly change their decision and go for biden or trump in november? >> well, nikki haley does really well with moderate voters, with independent voters, with suburban voters. those are points of vulnerability for former president trump, because the question is, where are nikki haley's supporters going to go? are they going to hold the line and vote for former president trump just because they want to vote for a republican? >> an average of exit poll data in six states found 79% of haley's voters responded no when asked if trump would be fit for president if he's convicted of a

crime, biden is facing his own backlash over his handling of the israel-hamas war, with democrats casting protest votes in support of a cease fire. >> there's definitely dissatisfaction on both sides of the aisle with the fact that we have a rematch, essentially, that we are marching toward in terms of the general election. >> tens of thousands of democrats voted uncommitted in minnesota, where there's a large muslim community. and in virginia, marianne williamson, who previously dropped out of the race, picked up significant votes. but with a biden-trump rematch now appearing inevitable and the country perhaps more divided than ever, this message from arizona's independent senator could be a warning about the future kirsten sinema saying she will not seek reelection. >> the only political victories that matter these days are symbolic. attacking your opponents on cable news or social media. compromise is a dirty word. we've arrived at that crossroad and we chose anger and division.

missiles and a crew of 60. it's the third russian ship ukraine says it has sunk since early february. no comment yet from russia. back here in the u.s, president biden announced a new rule to cap credit card late fees. >> the proposal sets a monthly $8 ceiling for most of those fees. that is down from an average of $32. banks brought in an estimated $14 billion last year on late fees, and the president says that's just being greedy. >> we estimate banks are generating five times more in late fees than it costs to collect late payments. they're patting their profit margins. >> critics of the rules say it could end up hurting consumers, though, who may wind up facing higher credit card interest rates or banks raising other types of fees if it survives legal challenges. the new $8 rule will take effect in may. >> multiple investigations are underway into the cause of a deadly building fire outside of detroit. it was home to a vaping supply business, housing canisters of butane and nitrous oxide, which officials say was illegal. those canisters

exploding, launching debris up to two miles away. a 19 year old who was a quarter mile from the scene died after being struck by shrapnel. authorities say the area's air and water supply, though, are safe. investigators are also piecing together the wreckage of a small plane that crashed monday night along interstate 40 in nashville, killing five people. three of those victims were children. abc's gio benitez covers aviation for us. >> chilling video capturing the single engine airplane attempting to make an emergency landing in nashville monday night. but the plane crashing alongside interstate 40 and bursting into flames, killing all five people on board. moments earlier, the distressed pilot can be heard radioing air traffic control, saying his engine had shut down my engine. >> shut it off. i'm at 1600. i'm going to be landing. >> i don't know where the plane traveling from mount sterling, kentucky, outside lexington to nashville. authorities say two adults and three children were

on board, all canadian citizens. air traffic controllers clearing the runway at john c toon airport for an emergency landing. but the pilot saying he's too far away. >> runway two. runway two cleared to land. i'm too far away. >> i won't make it. >> the plane then crashing into this grassy median. first responders rushing to the scene. >> they were met with heavy flames and fire smoke in the area showing from that crash site. >> the pieces of charred and twisted metal carefully moved for further analysis. >> we're going to basically put the airplane back together in a three dimension format on the floor of the hangar, which can help us determine what actually caused the failure of this engine. >> and investigators say they're also going to be looking into the pilot's history and the plane's maintenance records. and they're also asking anyone with video of the crash to come forward. gio benitez, abc news, las vegas really tragic. >> gio, thank you for that story. checking the weather now. the entire east coast gets a healthy dose of rain today. the
