and that breaking news a plane from sfo had to make an emergency landing at los angeles international airport in the last hour. air traffic control audio indicates a united airlines jet had a complete hydraulic failure. it happened on united airlines flight 821 to mexico city. you see that plane there? there were 111 people on board. everyone is okay. this is the fourth incident involving united jet just this week and

the third since yesterday morning. united says these incidents are unrelated and they are working on repairs now. >> one of those other incidents involved a united plane that veered off the runway at houston international airport this morning. the national transportation safety board is sending a team there to investigate. the plane, as you can see, ended up tipped as it came to a stop in a grassy area of the runway with one wing almost touching the ground. no one was hurt here. no word yet on what may have gone wrong. >> and we're learning the united plane that lost a tire while taking off from sfo yesterday is scheduled to make a passenger flight back to san francisco tomorrow morning. the plane is still in los angeles, landing today. that's where it made an emergency landing after the tire incident, which was live streamed by a plane hobbyist. earlier today, we caught up with one man who at sfo was at sfo recording planes during takeoff. >> people definitely see our live streams as like a comforting thing because let's say, take people who are scared of flying and they hop in these

it under sand and they built houses on top of it. so it's not a it's not unusual that this would happen in san francisco. >> suzanne vaughn, abc seven news a separate water main break not far away caused a water outage at san francisco's statue university today. >> university officials say it has since been resolved and water service restored. they did not say what kind of water main it was or what might have caused the break at sfsu, state and local authorities are testing for a potentially harmful algae in oakland's lake merritt. >> they were alerted when rust colored water fanned out across the lake yesterday. the bloom produces a toxin that sucks oxygen out of the water, suffocating marine life. in august of 2022, lake merritt and parts of san francisco bay were hit by a harmful algal blooms. they are believed to have killed off thousands of fish. the test results from this current bloom could be released as soon as this weekend. >> it is international women's day and this year women's march was done in solidarity with the

temperatures will drop. now sunday is a different story. by 5:00 the rain is moving into the north bay. 8 p.m. you will notice that rain crossing parts of the central bay and south bay gets it by 11 p.m. so once again, periods of rain for the weekend when all is said and done by sunday night, a few hundredths in the south bay all the way to a half an inch in the north bay. this does turn to snow in the mountains, where a winter storm watch goes up. sunday at 11 a.m. runs until 11 a.m, tuesday up to two feet for the peaks 10 to 18in above 5000ft. so travel may be difficult. if you have plans, best to go up tomorrow morning. temperatures 30s and 40s a lot of cloud cover. the showers begin in the north bay and then tomorrow afternoon we'll call it cooler than today. upper 50s to the mid 60s. a look at the accuweather seven day forecast. spotty light showers, level one for tomorrow. it's a one on oscar sunday, but it's mainly an evening event. don't forget we actually lose that hour of sleep , but we gain that hour of daylight monday morning. early showers and the nighttime chance. and then on tuesday we
