had no idea they were being recorded. good evening. >> i'm ama daetz and i'm dan ashley. thanks for joining us. police are sharing details of this case in the hopes of helping more victims to feel the need to come forward. >> abc seven news, south bay reporter lauren martinez is on the story. >> it's an invasion of privacy. a hidden camera was found inside the starbucks bathroom. san jose police say it happened at the location off coleman avenue and taylor street. it's a horrible because we've used the restroom quite a lot. >> we were here last week. >> police say the recording was from tuesday, january 30th between 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. detectives say more than 91 people using the restroom were filmed. the youngest was four years old. >> this recording is graphic and includes multiple juvenile victims fully exposed. >> police say this is the camera that was found underneath a sink facing the toilet on march 15th. detectives arrested the suspect at his san jose home and found a cache of weapons, 20 firearms,

including an assault rifle, various micro cameras and high capacity magazines were seized. >> it's sickening. it is a feeling of being violated and this is wrong, you know, i'm glad they caught the person and i hope they the hammer comes down hard on them. >> psychology professor thomas plante says privacy can be easily compromised with technology. there's not only a feeling of violation, but what happens next. >> they feel exposed and it gets worse when they start to think about what's going to happen with this tape, you know, or is this going to go online? who's going to see this? >> on wednesday, police couldn't disclose if the footage was being sent to another location or if it was uploaded online. >> you think you have privacy, then you find out you don't. >> san jose police say it was an employee who found the camera. >> i can't believe this is happening here even in this area, this is horrifying. this is bad for everybody, bad for business, bad for the community. >> starbucks released this

statement. this is a deeply disturbing incident, and we are grateful for the quick and thorough response from the san jose police department in apprehending the suspect. >> at some point, we do have to take a deep breath, do the best we can, and try to avoid the paranoia that might emerge. you know, after you, after we have these kind of stories and these kinds of experiences in san jose. >> lauren martinez, abc seven news. >> a terribly sad development to share with you tonight. a fourth victim has now died from saturday's awful collision in san francisco's west portal neighborhood. an infant who was in the hospital with critical injuries sadly passed away today. police chief bill scott spoke about the tragedy at this evening's police commission meeting. the adult victims in the now quadruple fatal collision are diego cardoso de oliveira and his wife, matilda ramos. they were waiting at a muni bus stop with their two children when an suv just plowed into the family of four. chief scott says the collision has

really shaken the community, this was this was a horrific incident and heartbreaking, there was a vigil held monday night and the community came out in mass, to support the victims. >> police arrested the 78 year-old driver who was behind the wheel of a mercedes suv. she was arrested on reckless driving and vehicular manslaughter charges, but has been a since released from police custody. we spoke with the attorney for the driver today who said his client is also devastated by what happened. >> this is a very difficult time for her as well, you know, this is a tragedy that she has to find a way to live with and navigate. >> san francisco da brooke jenkins says her office is still reviewing the case to determine what charges the driver might face. >> now, to your voice, your vote and more than two weeks since california's primary election, we now have a winner. prop one to update the state's mental health system has passed. governor newsom's hard pushed ballot measure puts strict

requirements on local counties to spend on mental health and drug abuse resources, and it means major potential impacts to the state's homeless crisis. abc seven news reporter tara campbell is here in studio, closely following how this might work in the bay area. tara. >> yeah, ama and dan, this controversial ballot measure really coming down to the wire. and while the impacts are yet to be seen, one thing does seem pretty clear. this is a major political victory for the governor. in fact, he's touring a behavioral health treatment campus tomorrow in los angeles. >> this is a huge win for the governor, political science expert melissa michaelson is talking about prop one. >> the $6.4 billion bond measure to pay for mental health services, treatment facilities and housing to help people off california's streets. >> this is a huge win. if it turns out that passing prop one means that california can make a significant dent in the homelessness issue, the statewide proposition narrowly passing wednesday evening with

just over 50% of the vote. >> more than two weeks after californians went to the polls, the governor, now poised to claim victory in his state of the state address. >> he was kind of taking a risk, right, because if it didn't pass and then he went and did the state of the state with that loss, then he'd have to speak about it in a different way. turns out it went the other way and it passed. and now he can have a successful state of the state. so i think he rolled the dice and he won. >> in a statement, the governor saying in part, this is the biggest change in decades to how california tackles homelessness and a victory for doing things radically different, going on to challenge local governments to step up, saying this historic reform will only succeed if we all kick into action immediately. state governments and local leaders. >> together, we are ready and willing. this is a long time coming, san jose mayor matt mehan says the city is ready to do what it can to put the measure into action, the first major update to the state's

but there's a lot more to it than just that. this story quickly took off and quickly changed, with the focal point being on a gambling debt and it was thought ohtani had agreed to cover the debts of the interpreter to wiring at least $4.5 million to a bookmaking operation. then it flipped the interpreter ep. mizuhara was blamed for taking the money from ohtani's bank account. >> he's an interpreter for all we know. so how do we get from interpreter to being able to access his accounts? we don't know, and until we do, it's. the details are a little hazy, but there's definitely a lot more to this story than we're being told at this time. >> major league baseball has strict rules on gambling. espn reports federal investigators are looking into the bookmaking operation. >> former san francisco giants public address announcer renel brooks-moon posted a lengthy and emotional farewell message on instagram today. yeah emotions really have been swirling since we learned earlier this week that she would not be returning
