knife. officers say they shot him when he begamoving towards one them. he later died at a hospital. the department and the district attorney's office is investigating. another crash at a bus stop sends a man to the hospital this weekend. it happened just before five yesterday at the stop at fulton street and park presidio boulevard, right across the street from golden gate park. ironically enough, the car ended up on top of a yield to pedestrian sign. fortunately, the victim's injuries are not life threatening. the driver is facing several citations. the crash comes just one week after a driver plowed through a bus stop in san francisco's west portal neighborhood, wiping out a whole family. a couple and their two children were waiting to go to the zoo when police say a 78 year-old driver hit them, the kids were just two years old and three months old. the driver is not in police custody at this point, and the da's office has not formally charged her. so we're not naming her right now.

new developments tonight in a deadly mountain lion attack in the sierra foothills. two brothers, 18 and 21 years old, were attacked. the older brother died, becoming the first person to be killed by a mountain lion in california in 20 years. el dorado county deputies say the 18 year old, who survived, has already gone through several surgeries and is expected to make a full recovery. the brothers were searching for shed deer antlers near the town of georgetown, about 50 miles northeast of sacramento, yesterday when the animal attacked them. abc news reporter zohreen shah has new detail audio details on how the deputies responded to the teen's shocking call. >> we got a report of a subject attacked by a mountain lion. code three fire and medical are in route now. >> a weekend outing for two brothers in northern california taking a horrific turn after the el dorado county sheriff's

department says a mountain lion attacked, killing one of the men and leaving the other one with traumatic injuries to the face. >> medical is with the first patient, 18 year old male, who last saw his brother, a 21 year old male, pinned down by the mountain lion. >> the attack unfolding saturday afternoon while the brothers, ages 21 and 18, were searching for shed deer antlers near the el dorado national forest about 52 miles northeast of sacramento. deputies say the 21 year old was found dead with a mountain lion nearby by 30 minutes after his brother called 911. the mountain lion was facing the deputies and in an attempt to get to the individual to render first aid, they discharged their firearms. california's fish and wildlife calling it the first fatal mountain lion attack in northern california. in 20 years. but residents say seeing mountain lions in the area is common. >> we're overpopulated with them by all means. yeah so they used to be hunted back in when i was

going to go, then the roads get backed up. so if they're not backed up now, i guess maybe the time to go go while it's dry, just stay. >> yes. snow comes again. great point, great point. no snow right now, though. not here in the bay area. at least. looking at live doppler seven, you can see we have a couple of isolated showers left from what was a level one storm earlier today. this is mainly out over the higher elevation in the mount hamilton area, but as you can see on the looping radar image, the system is losing its energy and winding down. so we'll start the forecast animation at 6 p.m. and notice those stubborn showers will still be out there over the mount hamilton area. they will quickly go away, giving way to at least partial clearing during the late night and overnight hours. we'll see a few clouds swinging through in the wee hours of the morning, but the day will start tomorrow with mainly sunny skies, and they'll remain that way up until about midday. right now we're looking at gusty conditions all around the bay area, with gusts up to 36mph in oakland, 30 at hayward, 28 here in san francisco. and those gusts are going to just gradually diminish as we get into the late night hours. it's a little bit warmer
