and show some support. >> i grew up coming here since i was little, so we thought we'd come to get our last burger at this place. >> this restaurant opened in 2005, but ongoing crime on the property and in the neighborhood left the burger chain, making the tough call to close over safety concerns. warning signs to customers are everywhere. >> yeah, it's just it's just really sad because this is a spot where a lot of teenagers would come have their first job. this was my first job ever. >> clarissa says she worked here for three years and never felt unsafe, but others did. >> a lot of people who aren't from here, they. i feel like they do feel a little bit more unsafe because they know that they can break your window. >> the robbery around here is like really bad. >> this sign in the parking lot telling in-n-out customers goodbye. city officials hope that oakland's incoming police chief can help keep other businesses from packing up and leaving town. floyd mitchell begins his new role as opd chief in early may. council member noelxpectaons. >> it's going to take, a strong police chief action, and working

one of them. he later died at a hospital. the department and the district attorney's office is investigating dating. another crash at a bus stop sends a man to the hospital. this weekend happened just before five yesterday at the stop at fulton street and park presidio boulevard, right across the street from golden gate park. ironically enough, the car ended up on top of a sign that read yield to pedestrians. fortunately, the victims injuries are not life threatening. the driver is facing several citations. the crash comes just one week after a driver plowed through a bus stop in san francisco's west portal neighborhood, wiping out a whole family. a couple and their two young children were waiting to go to the zoo when police say a 78 year-old driver hit them. the kids were just two years old and three months old. the driver is not in police custody at this point, and the charged her. so we're not naming her right now. new developments tonight in a deadly mountain lion attack in the sierra

foothills. just in the last hour, the state's wildlife forensics lab told us the animal was healthy when it attacked two brothers, killing one of them. the brothers were searching for shed deer antlers nearhe tn of georgetown, about 50 mis northeast of sacramento. yesterday. el dorado county depues say the 18 year old, whourvived, has already gone through several surgeries a is expected to make a full recovery . abc news reporter zohreen shah shows how deputies responded to the teen's shocking call. >> we got a report of a subject attacked by a mountain lion. code three fire and medical are in route now. >> a weekend outing for two brothers in northern california taking a horrific turn after the el dorado county sheriff's department says a mountain lion attacked, killing one of the men and leaving the other one with traumatic injuries to the face. >> medical is with the first patient, 18 year old male, who last saw his brother, a 21 year

old male, pinned down by the mountain lion, the attack unfolding saturday afternoon while the brothers, ages 21 and 18, were searching for shed deer antlers near the el dorado national forest, about 52 miles northeast of sacramento. >> deputies say the 21 year old was found dead with a mountain lion nearby 30 minutes after his brother called 911. the mountain lion was facing the deputies and in an attempt to get to the individual to render first aid, they discharged their firearms. california's fish and wildlife calling it the first fatal mountain lion attack in northern california in 20 years. but residents say seeing mountain lions in the area is common. >> we're over populated with them by all means. yeah so they used to be hunted back in when i was a kid up here, we'd go hunting and they banned the hunting on them. and we were overpopulated. yeah, the sightings nonstop up here. now, see him in packs 2 or 3. and that was that. wasn't that

half refugees are. >> it is our duty to put pressure continuously on the us government to stop arming israel and the siege on gaza. >> on abc's this week, vice president kamala harris called an israeli invasion of rafah a major mistake if it happens. harris kept open the possibility of us consequences if israel were to conduct a military operation. there a rally outside of san francisco's federal building today called attention to a supreme court case over abortion. the high court will hear oral arguments on the abortion pill mifepristone on tuesday. it's the court's first big hearing on abortion since they overturned roe v wade in 2022. the justices will consider whether the fda should have allowed the abortion pill to be sent through the mail, and how long into pregnancy it should be made available to patients. pretty soon, some of your favorite san francisco watering

just showed you, but they'll be gone by about eight 830 tonight, so that will give way to clearing skies going into the midnight hour overnight, a few passing high clouds, and then we start the day tomorrow morning with mainly sunny skies. but it's gusty right now despite the winding down of that storm. we've got wind gusts up to 38mph at oakland right now, 44 at sfo. these gusts are going to be with us for a while going into the early evening hours before they start to taper off a little bit. and looking at the 24 hour temperature change, you can see it's about 2 to 5 degrees warmer than this time yesterday. at most locations away from the coast and away from the bay. so let's take a closer look at what's happening right now. here in san francisco is 56 degrees 59. in oakland we've got 60 at hayward and san jose and mid 50s at san mateo and half moon bay. beautiful view of the western sky from our emeryville camera are the temperature readings at this hour? 61 in santa rosa, mid 50s at petaluma and livermore, upper 50s at napa and concord, and 62 at fairfield. and let's check out our forecast headlines. as i struggle to hold

on to my voice. it's beginning to crack. tonight. clouds and showers depart, giving way to sunnier and drier weather tomorrow and tuesday. but midweek that little spell of dry weather will be short lived because rainy pattern returns, bringing us cooler weather as well as wetter weather. but overnight it won't be wet and it won't be very cool with low temperatures mainly in the mid to upper 40s and then highs tomorrow under partly to mostly sunny skies, mainly in the upper 50s near the coast. 59 here in san francisco and most other locations will see highs in the low to mid 60s. in fact, really mild up in the north bay. here's the accuweather seven day forecast. so we've got a couple of bright days coming our way to start the workweek tomorrow and tuesday. in fact, high temperatures on tuesday will be in the upper 60s to near 70. and the warmest inland locations. and then wednesday the rainy pattern returns. we'll have a series of days bringing us some showers, maybe a few occasional brief downpours. level one storm activity. so these will not be major storms. these will be light storms from wednesday. all the way through saturday, but
