abortion rights. louisiana passed a bill that classifies abortion pills as "dangerous controlled substances", and we will talk to rachel, will other states follow? >> good mornings michael. louisiana is on track to become the first state to criminalize possession of the pills used in more than half of the abortions in the united states. republicans pushing through the bill, classifying two pills as dangerous controlled substances, this legislation would make possessing the pill without a prescription punishable and for jail time, putting it in the category of abuse and addiction druggings. >> doctors we talked to, warned this could have a dire impact, this drug is prescribed for other uses, including to manage a miscarriage and other states could implement laws like this one. doctors have to have a special license to prescribe the drug.

white house places the blame on donald trump, who appointed three justice , sending it back down to the states and now this is in front of the supreme court, the justices are going to weigh in and decide to roll back restrictions on the abortion pill, in a matter of weeks, rebecca? >> we know you will continue to scottie scheffler, was arrested last week, and we have the latest on that story now. good morning steve. >> good morning, the golfers' attorney, say this video proves what they have been arguing all along, it was at most a that scheffler did nothing wrong. >> the louisville police detective arrested scottie scheffler outside the pga-champ.

you see him pulling up to the entrance, the detective was running after him, there was a fatal accident on the road, the golfer was trying to make it through traffic. there are large buses, blocking the street camera view, making it impossible on see what happened before. the pictures show that the champion golfer did nothing wrong behind the wheel. >> it was a miscommunication, he didn't do anything wrong. >> people are asking questions about the detective's police report. saying that scheffler refused to comply with. the directions. and damaged him by dragging him with his car. but neither of these things are seen here. >> police today announced they are disciplining the detective for not turning on the body camera, that would have shown a lot more. >> our officer received corrective action for the policy violation. >> the police say they still are not dropping the charges.

ncaa. >> good morning, it's a long-standing and hot-running debate, whether or not college athletes should be paid to play. proponents from fans to supreme court justices say yes, opponents mainly the ncaa have fought to prevent it from happening but now the agreement to settle three pending federal anti-trust cases could change everything. >> overnight, a landmark agreement that stands to dramatically change the college sports field >> student athletes, paid to compete. the 5 conferences, coming to a revenue sharing agreement, for players to partake in the billions generated by college sports. the deal, it could begin playing -- paying million in athletes, who played as far backas 2016.

for over a century the ncaa has kept a hard line on amateurism. >> it would be an amazing towards ending the exploitation of players. out of poverty, into homeownership, generational wealth. >> it would allow students to earn from their name, image, and likeness from the ncaa directly for the first time n. 2022, alone, 5 out of the top college programs generated more than 200 million dollars. >> with the settlement moving forward, we could have the ncaa directly paying its student athletes for the first time in history. >> each school will chair up to 20 million among athletes. details include how to distribute it equitably, is yet to be finalized. this settlement could face legal challenges and approves from judges that could taking months. >> football players have been earning money on their name, image, and likeness, for a few
