captioned by los angeles distribution and broadcasting, inc. right away that breaking news is just east of the bay area in san joaquin county. take a look. a fast moving wildfire has forced part of a highway to close tonight, and is prompting evacuations. good evening, and thank you for joining us. i'm diane lim. certainly hear the gusty wind that has made this fire so difficult to get under control. the so-called corral fire
11:01 pm
started at 230 this afternoon and has burned nearly 10,000 acres southwest of tracy at the alameda and san joaquin county line. it is just 10% contained. smoke and flames have burned dangerously close to the 580 freeway, forcing all lanes in both directions to be closed just between the junction to interstate 205 and interstate five. two firefighters have been injured fighting this blaze. a spokesperson for the alameda county fire department says they suffered minor to moderate burn injuries. both are receiving care at the hospital. now, this map here gives us an idea of where exactly the fire is burning. the perimeter of the fire is mostly in san joaquin county, south of tracy, and east of land belonging to the lawrenceivermore national laboratory. evacuation orders have been issued in some parts of san joaquin county. now of course, we wouldn't call today's conditions wildfire weather. and spencer, usually we would expect hotter, maybe windier conditions to fuel that fire.
11:02 pm
>> that's true. diane. typically, we would expect extreme heat, very, very dangerously low humidity and powerful wind gusts, which is what we get during the wildfire season when these kinds of fires develop. now, the conditions are anything but that right now. so the current conditions near near tracy, in and around tracy are favorable for containing the fire. the thing is, when you get closer to the fire, these massive fires can generate their own powerful gusts at the base of the fire. okay, so the basic conditions right now in and around tracy, 67 degrees. so it's not hot. obviously relative humidity is increasing to 44. earlier it was a little bit lower and the wind gusts with steady winds about 19mph. the gusts have been up to about 30mph again in and around tracy, but closer to the fire the fires can generate. these uh- wind gusts near the base that are very powerful, that can fan the flames of the fire. but just happy to say that right now all the major weather conditions are moving in a direction favorable for containment. and i'll have the full accuweather seven day forecast a little bit later. yeah that is encouraging.
11:03 pm
>> all right, spencer, thank you. moving on. new at 11. now. we have reported an awful lot on san francisco's effort to pump life into the downtown area. and tonight might be the very best example the city put together a rave and it drew tens of thousands of people right near city hall. as abc seven news reporter tara campbell found out it was a hot ticket. >> reporter san francisco's civic center plaza lit up and loud saturday, everyone from party goers to police, feeling the beat of this surprise rave. >> i'm here to see us acrylics and fred again like i'm right outside city hall. it's absolutely beautiful outside. and yeah, why not? >> fans filing in late afternoon djs skrillex and fred again. big draws. >> skrillex is one of my favorite artists. he has been for a very long time. so it's, you know, just been a dream to see him. >> dj skrillex hinting at the show earlier this week and now this sold out show, 25,000 tickets sold. >> tickets were so hard to get.

that's better news than we had earlier. >> yeah, slowly but surely. slowly but surely. >> here's a look at what's happening right now. generally across the bay area. we've got this onshore flow that is a pattern we've had for several weeks now, but this one is quite strong, as evidenced by the gusty wind all across the bay area right now we have gusts at sfo over 40mph, and even many of our inland areas away from the coast have gusts up to 25 to 30mph, including over in the area of the fire. so right now we're looking at the wind gust animation. as we get into the overnight hours, we'll see the gusts remain relatively strong near the coastline, but the winds in our inland areas and even around the bay will diminish a bit going into the early morning. but notice what happens tomorrow afternoon. the gusts pick up once again area wide, so from inland to the coast we'll see 30, 25 to about 35 mile per hour gusts. late tomorrow afternoon. meanwhile, the 24 hour temperature change shows nothing very significant except in the north bay, where santa rosa and novato are 12 and 13 degrees warmer, respectively, than at this time last night in

and south bay will still be lingering in some spots, although it will be a bit sunnier up in the north bay overnight. low temperatures will be mainly in the mid 50s, so it's going to be quite mild across the entire region overnight and then tomorrow look for high temperatures near 60 along the coast, 66 here in san francisco around the bay shoreline. highs will reach into the low or low to mid 70s. so it's not going to be very, very warm around the bay. but inland it will warm up to about 87 at fairfield tomorrow, 87 at santa rosa, 85 in the inland east bay at antioch. so not a very not a hot day for sure, but a but a warm one in our inland spots. and here's the accuweather seven day forecast. and notice it's going to cool down a few degrees on monday. it will be cloudier and cooler than tomorrow will be, but then we get that heat spike for two days on tuesday and wednesday with high temperatures inland. those two days in the upper 90s to around 100, a mid to upper 80s near 90 and some bay shore locations and mitch upper 60s on the coast. but we're fortunate that this is a very brief warm up. it cools down to a more seasonal range on
