night in maryland overnight. a rare series of tornado warnings north of washington, d.c. multiple twisters reported in maryland, one reportedly crossing interstate 95. the city of gaithersburg hit hard. man captured the inside of a tornado from his car. >> i'm on the scene where a large tree crashed into a house. >> five people were trapped in this home after a large tree came crashing down. all five were rescued. one suffered traumatic injuries. the storms ripped trees from their roots, knocking down power lines and scattering roads with debris. multiple buildings collapsed. george mono heard a tree fall onto his home when the tornado hit. >> i just hear loud thuds and banging on the window and i just go upstairs, go to my bathtub, you know, hide there. >> and the midwest and plains have already seen the busiest severe weather season in 13 years, with devastating storms from nebraska to kentucky to texas this spring. and now,

thing happen in georgia. >> today. >> an appeals court has now halted the georgia election interference case in order to resolve an appeal over an alleged conflict of interest involving da fani willis stemming from her relationship with a special prosecutor and back to trump's vp search. the other candidates reportedly being considered include senator tim scott, congresswoman elise stefanik and former hud secretary ben carson. rhiannon >> all right, christiane, thank you for that. the widow of hunter biden's late brother beau is expected to take the stand today at his felony gun trial yesterday. hunter biden's ex-wife testified that she first learned hunter was using drugs when she found a crack pipe at their home in 2015. an ex-girlfriend, an exotic dancer hunter met at a strip club, told the jury she saw him smoking crack just weeks before he bought the gun. the defense insists biden was using alcohol at the time, but not drugs. prosecutors say he lied about his drug use on a federal application for a gun. >> the world health organization has confirmed. the first ever human death from a strain of bird flu. the patient was a 59

40 miles from the other victims on long island, new york. >> you have to place the killer there or have a connection there. >> human is already charged in the deaths of megan waterman, melissa barthelemy, amber costello and maureen brainard. barnes found near gilgo beach in 2010. he's pleaded not guilty to killing the women whom he allegedly solicited for sex authorities say they linked him to the murders through his distinctive car and by collecting dna from pizza crust, he threw in the trash. the new charges come after another search of herman's home news. 12 long island reports. investigators removed wood paneled walls in the basement. human before he was taken into custody last year, was a suburban married father working as an architect. his now estranged wife has said she doesn't believe he's capable of such crimes, saying i will listen to all of the evidence and withhold judgment until the end of trial. i have given rex the benefit of the doubt, as we all deserve at least 11 sets of
