they responded to several sightings around l.a. drive and war admiral way in south san jose. a resident shared these photos with us, but the city has not confirmed this is the cat they're looking for. police say callers reported seeing the mountain lion walking into yards. what do you think? hearing that there was a mountain lion sighting? >> well, it's kind of scary. >> we posed the question, what should you do if you see one? >> gosh, i don't know. run. >> maybe we went over the do's and don'ts. if you see one, we make big. >> we make a make a noise and don't run. >> san jose resident jose mourinho has the right idea. you don't run, you back away slowly. stand tall, make a noise and do not turn your back. i have these guys and they probably would bark is what they would do. >> so that might work to my advantage. >> the california department of fish and wildlife says mountain lions typically pose little

threat to humans. they suggest don't be out too late at night or too early in the morning. >> yeah, it's good to know what's happening in your backyard in san jose. >> lauren martinez abc seven news. >> a bay area food bank is going to have to close one of its warehouses because of a rent hike. second harvest of silicon valley says this is a big blow because it's already dealing with a high demand from clients. it had a good deal on its warehouse on brennan street in san jose, but it's going to leave at the end of august in order to make things work. >> so we're just figuring out how we can continue to do what we do. but again, you know, unfortunately, most of our support comes from the local community. you know, 90% of our donations are from the private sector, two thirds from individuals and i think people just don't realize how great the need is right now. >> second harvest will still have two warehouses in san jose, along with one in san carlos. the nonprofit says demand for food assistance skyrocketed during the pandemic, and it has

of latter day saints temple on highland way. the words said the mormon church invests in genocide and called for it to divest in pro-israel causes. no entry was made inside when the israel-hamas war began last october, for the church of latter day saints publicly condemned the violence. >> lake tahoe is a year round vacation destination, as you well know, but has fallen on a serious, affordable housing crisis. some residents in south lake tahoe are trying to fix that, with a new tax on vacant properties. the proposal just made the november ballot there. if passed, voters of properties would pay $3,000 the first year and then $6,000 in the following years. if the home sits unoccupied for at least 50% of the year, south lake tahoe already banned short term rentals like airbnb. that was in 2018. now, this new tax would mainly be for second vacation homes, but one local says he has a home in the area and just doesn't think it's a good idea. >> i'm 66.5 and i'm still

working full time in order to afford it, so not everybody who owns a second home in south lake tahoe is wealthy owners could exempt themselves from the vacancy tax by longterm renting to a local resident. >> it's one of the most famous homes in all of san francisco. now, the house used in the hit sitcom full house is going back up for sale. the house that was used for exterior shots in the show is on broderick street in lower park heights, toward the end of pine. it's different from the painted ladies they show during the opening theme song, but this home was renovated in 2019 to match the look of some of the rooms in the show. the new price tag, a 6.5 million. while costco is only going to sell books during the holiday season, according to a report by the new york times, it's expected to start cutting back on its stock at the beginning of 2025. one reason cited in the report is selling books is to labor intensive. costco has sold books for decades and is often viewed as a place to reach

people who might not normally visit a bookstore. it's now expected to only have books available from september through december. >> well, now to the lead up to this month's san francisco pride parade, and the work is underway tonight to get one of the iconic beacons of pride month up and running and all lit up. today, volunteers picked up the pink canvas tarps and the 5000 steel spikes used to hold down those pink triangles atop twin peaks. the triangle is massive, covering nearly an acre, taking hundreds of volunteers to put it into place tomorrow we install the borders of the pink triangle . >> there are 240ft long each, and they're made out of pink sailcloth that they use as spinnakers. and then we fill in between the lines on saturday morning with the 175 tarps. >> it's a huge project. as you can see, gay rights activists adopted the pink triangle decades ago as a symbol of love and solidarity. the triangles public celebration starts at

were earlier today. you will notice low 90s concord livermore, but nothing like the heat that we experienced yesterday. it was certainly more comfortable than it was the last couple of days. heat advisory remains up until midnight tonight as we take a look. a beach hazard statement along the coastline northwest well west northwest, 8 to 10ft until midnight tonight. hazardous conditions expected. so the ridge of high pressure that brought us the hot weather is moved off to the east. this area of low pressure is moving in our direction. that is already set the stage for that cooler pattern that we're in right now from our pier 39 camera. certainly seeing the overcast skies overnight tonight, fog and spotty drizzle tomorrow, cooling trend continues. and for the weekend it's going to be nice. late spring weather. not like what we experienced once again. alameda high school graduating tomorrow at 11 a.m. low 60s. the sun will be out, temperatures climbing up into the mid 60s. really comfortable weather for carlmont high school's
